I made my purchase after months of reviewing similar subwoofers in the price range by far the pioneer subwoofer was the best bang for the buck replacing my old surround sound in a box Sony subwoofer. Great for both movies and music listening pleasure.

When I had bought this, I wasn't expecting to get what I got of this. If you are looking for a cheap affordable subwoofer and loud bass for whatever reason in a small to medium size room, this is a must have if you don't want to spend a lot of money. I was amazed how loud this thing actually was, I underestimated it. It goes amazingly with the rest of the Pioneer home theater surround. Cheap, affordable, and LOUD! I would definitely recommend to all my friends!

Size of unit is very adaptable to fit into entertainment center. I am very electronically challenged, but this was extremely easy to set up with my current surround sound set-up. Once I attached everything, it still didn't work, though. Only after calling customer service did I realize that I have to go into the television's and receiver's settings to "turn on" the subwoofer. Bass tones are not overwhelming; appear to be just right for our small room.

This is a second sub for my home theater. It has a lower frequency response than my other, so it is a welcomed edition. I do think however, that it needs to be turned up higher, in order to produce the same volume/ effect as my JBL sub. Both are powered 8inch subs, which for their size, they are both surprisingly effective and booming. I would have figured needing to use 10's or 12's to rock the house, but not so. Something I wish this sub had, was an identified LFE port. I had to inquire to figure out that it was the Left RCA Channel. Overall, it does the job for a good price. I really don't see the point of buying a $300 plus sub over this one, especially if you're just using it for a home theater.

this little sub really sounds nice and smooth in my bedroom system. Great sound and plenty of bass. Highly recommended!

I bought this to replace a Mirage sub. Does the job. I think the Mirage had a little more room filling sound but you can't beat the performance for the price.

Sale priced just over $100, this sub-woofer does everything expected with very clean sound which is the reason for the excellent rating. This unit has Auto on/off sensing, high and low level inputs, frequency cut-off adjustable. The woofer cone is exposed on the bottom so watch for kids, toys and other dangers. I haven't pushed the power because I have not needed - it fills the room of approximately 26'x28' with 13' ceiling with great quality.

Not bad for an entry level sub. Great low tones the crossover has a decent range and the volume is great for medium sized living rooms. This subwoofer is definitely a good deal for a budget worthy home theater system. The only thing that gets annoying is the blue power stand by light in the front, it's truly bright.

Big bass sound with control. I like to sub woofer because the sound is big Rich and true and the controls are flexible

I needed to purchase a new subwoofer after I got a new receiver. The sound is great and the bass tones can be felt in the floor.

This is a nice little sub, great for a living room or family room. This replaced my old RCA 10in and it sounds great!

Now this will not beat your wall's down by any means but it hits just perfect in my setup. I have the insignia 2 channel 200 watt Bluetooth reciever, insignia bookshelf 100watt speakers and this pioneer sub. The sound is wounderful very full of body with all types of music from metal to rock to rap to country. Really love the sound. Got it on special for 110 bucks. The whole system I got each part on sale total less than 250 for all 4 pieces great buys

I bought this to add to the Klipsch Quintet speaker system and a Sony receiver. I was looking for something smaller, having returned a Klipsch subwoofer because it was such a massive presence in my living room. I have been very pleased with the sound quality. It has added a lot of boom to our movie watching, as well as dramatic TV shows.

I just bought a new Denon receiver and needed a new subwoofer. I am not all about the bass so I didn't really need anything fancy. I was really surprised at how good this sub performs. Rich clear bass without the low level distortion. I am very pleased. Great sound at a great price.

Bought it as a replacement for my blown Sony Subwoofer and at a good deal after pricematch. This active subwoofer is very loud and I am just at the mid level. Takes some time to get the right mix with my current sound system but once I got to the right setting, I am so happy with it. The bass quality is superior. (Tip: Placed it behind my sofa and it literally shakes the sofa in movie climaxes, a great way to experience movies, especially action and horror films)
