I think that "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" was once again one of the greatest Disney films of all-time and it was also one of my favorite Disney films of all-time. I have seen and enjoyed all of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" films several times and I also think that "Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl" had a lot of entertaining, exciting and enjoyable action, mystery, humor, drama and suspense including amazing and original personal/suspenseful storylines. I also think that Keira Knightley's role in the "Pirates of the Caribbean" films was really amazing.

IT'S AN OK CLASSIC OF THE WALT DISNEY CORPORATION AND A GOOD MASTERPIECE

This is where it all began, though casting and script were a problem. Bloom is too effeminate for the role and Knightly is satisfactory. The script makes her too masculine and takes away from her possible allure. She was tougher than Bloom's character. Their weak dialogues and, at times, her unrealistic actions weakened the film, somewhat. The major reason for the success of the movie is due solely to Depp's superb portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow. The special effects and just-good-enough script prop up the weak supporting cast . Those three things saved the movie with a little push from Rush. A worthwhile pirate movie for any landlubber or hardy mate.

For a 4K disc, this is not one of the better ones to buy. It appears that Disney did not upgrade the video nearly enough to make a difference in quality. Colors are not vibrant and it seems darker than the blu ray. However, the audio is improved. It has Atmos, but does not "wow" you. You have to turn up the volume to get good sound, but Atmos is not really a significant difference. If you don't have a copy of this on Blu Ray already, it's worth the purchase, but you may like your Blu Ray copy better. I give it 3 stars for the movie itself. Maybe Disney will release the rest of the series in a box set and fix the issues on this one...

i saw this movie when i was younger.. so i did not like it since i thought it was goofy and the story didnt make sense to me. fast foreword to now and i have to say, it is better than i remember! the characters are god and funny the music is great the effects still hold pretty well over all this movie still holds up great as a family movie

We recently took our youngest daughter to see the new Pirates of the Caribbean, and she really enjoyed it. The Curse of the Black Pearl was the only one that we didn't already own on dvd, so we decided to purchase it to watch them in order. This is still my favorite one of the series, probably because it was new and fresh. I really enjoy all of them, but there is only one that can be the "first" in a series. Of course they are far fetched, but good entertainment that the whole family can enjoy.

This release contains 2 disc, a slipcover and a digital code. The bonus disc with additional features from the previous Blu-Ray release was dropped and those features are not included on the 4K disc. The transfer is the same 4K transfer being shown currently on Disney+ and a lot people are not happy with it. The film is a classic.

Since this Blu-ray was apparently released more than 10 years ago, it may not have all the layout options or even picture quality that we're used to seeing with Blu-ray discs (and even 4K discs), but since the film is a simply fun action movie, I have no reason to be disappointed by this release. Plus, the movie comes with a Disney Movie Insiders (formerly Disney Movie Rewards) code which gets you points to your account, so that's nice too!

You just can't top this one. It was so much fun and fresh. I loved all the characters. It was one of those films (like Star Wars) where dispite any flaws, I just love to watch over and over. The cast is perfect, even the secondary characters where delightful.Jonathan Pryce, Geoffrey Rush and all the pirates of the Black Pearl where perfect. This is a much needed film in any film collection. Just wish the 4 film collection wasn't so expensive.

I highly recommend best buy for ordering your blu rays. I am a collector and want that slipcover and for it to be in good condition. If the slip is still made available then you are way more likely to get it ordering from best buy than other retailers. This film did not have the slip because it is an older release but I still order BB over the other retailers because if there was one then they would send it to you.

This is the only good Pirates of the Caribbean movie. I have loved this movie for years, so it was so good to see that I could get it on Blu-Ray at a great price. All the great action and scary moments now in the best picture quality ever. Love the story, love the music, love the characters, love the action. It is rare that a movie is this good while touching so many different genres. I can treasure it forever now!

Didn’t know if 4K would make a difference just wanted a digital copy because when this movie first came out on Blu-ray did not have one ….. however I’m so very glad I got this upgrade the picture the sound is astounding well worth getting if you love this series!!!!

A number of online reviewers and commenters have claimed this is the worst 4K disc; unfortunately, I can confirm it's the worst I've seen this far. Far too dark, resulting in a noticeable lack of bright highlights. The digital noise reduction is blatantly obvious, particularly in mid shots, and takes away any contrast. The Atmos is solid, but not strong enough to overcome the disappointment that is the video transfer. Keep or buy the old blu-ray instead.

The one that began it all... one of the few times Disney took a ride, made it into a movie, and then had to update the ride to incorporate the movie because it was so loved. I love any film featuring Jack Sparrow (that's CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow, mate!).

I've gotta be honest and say that this is one of my favorite Disney movies of all times. Pirates, good acting, rememberable characters, and great visuals (especially the underwater scene with walking skeletones - spoiler alert!) ... the movie has it all. Plus its not nearly as bloated (story wise) as other entries in the PoTC franchise after this one.

The first of the Pirates of The Caribbean series in a stellar 4K upgrade. When you rewatch it, realize how great this movie is. Johnny Depp is fantastic as the pirate and the whole cast and story is just a classic from Disney

This movie was great. I have the old blu-ray so I updated to the 4K movie and the picture was great and sound effects were excellent. Very good acting by all. Would like to see all the Pirates of the Caribbean movies in 4K

Well, there isnt much i can say except its a great movie and buying all the movies seperately was alot less expensive vs buying the collection for almost 100 bucks more due to the cool looking treassure chest and the Digital copies. But over all i am very happy with my purchase, a Bluray disc and a DVD for under fifteen dollars is not bad at all.

Bought the first 4 Pirates of the Caribbean movies on Blu-Ray to add to my collection, it was actually cheaper to buy them all separately than as part of a one-box collection. Sure, the others never quite lived up to the first, but the cast is excellent, in particular Johnny Depp and Geoffrey Rush. Check them out!!

I really enjoy the Pirates of the Caribbean films. I've watched them several times. I remember when I heard this was getting a 4K Release & I was excited. I still have POTC marathons to this day.
