My all time favorite movie is finally in 4k with a passable 4k transfer, although I question what source they used as some of the picture looks DNR’ed down. Still it’s a film that’s never looked as good as this before

This is one of the greatest holiday movies. John Candy and Steve Martin make this an awesome movie. It's funny, and at times, it's sad, but overall, it's one of the best.

One of the funniest movies that we watch over and over again. It’s our thanksgiving tradition to watch this every year. It’s hilarious! Crystal clear with being in 4K UHD.

Problematic scan, but still an upgrade, great film

Excellent movie, I have not seen it in quite a while, and was pleased to rediscover it. The editing and balance is top-notch, there is a bonus disc with tons of deleted scenes. Very fascinating stuff, but you can easily see why the final product was the best edit, and top-notch editing. That all said, the video scan is a problem with this release. I compared with the previous HD version, and it may be an issue with the previous restoration, possibly a scan prepared for that previous release. There is some really great HDR color capture here. However the definition is a big problem, with excellent contrast in many places, but way too many places where waxy faces reveal some sort of over-processing. It's a strange effect of seeing some excellent definition and color, but some scenes where the faces (especially) seem unfocused of sorts, which has a weird effect when other details are clear and nicely presented. And THAT all said, this is worth the upgrade just for that better scan that you do get, and the vastly better color capture you get with the HDR scan.

Classic and one of the few Thanksgiving holiday movies out there. Definitely better than the old DVD I had. Can't say how much improvement it is over the previous Blu-ray release, but I heard it's an improvement despite a few hiccups in the 4k transfer. Worth it just for the deleted/extended scenes. Some even frame scenes in a different context.

    ~ PLAINS, TRAINS...4K Release ~

1987's comedy holiday release of Trains, Plains, and Automobiles finally makes it to 4K UHD. This is a good release, but be aware this is only the 4K/Digital code. The Blu-ray included here as a bonus is only special features. A nice slipcover is also provided. The Blu-ray version has previously been released a number of times. The movie looks and sounds good. It is not a super improvement over the Blu-ray version, but glad to have it now as part of the 4K library. If you already own the Blu-ray, I would say keep it. Otherwise, you can get this one, a bonus special features blu-ray, digital code, and slipcover.

I love this movie. The quality of the 4k is questionable in some scenes. But its mostly fine. The gold is the extended scenes exclusivly with this 4k.

It was an OK upgrade. Honestly not a night and day difference over the Blu-ray edition. But the new Dolby vision does offer a few more upgrades for sure. The audios OK

This movie is a classic, and it's worth the upgrade. It's odd that the blu ray disc is just the extras (no blu ray film that's only on the 4K disc), but they all the cut scenes of legend that have never been seen before. I see why they were cut (mostly), but it's great to see what Hughes had thought about as a whole with this film. The documentary is nice, and the interview from back in the day with Martin, Hughes and Candy is great.
