Love this series! Great in 4K! BBC keeps impressing, well done!

I had read a review that said this was the single best reason to own a 4K HDR television, so when I bought a 4K player to go with my 4K set I also bought the 4K Planet Earth II. I was seriously impressed with the first episode -- then I discovered that the way I had the player hooked up made it downscale the image to 1080P. Watched it again with the connection corrected and was blown away by the improvement in image quality. As others have noted, the difference between 1080P and 2160P isn't really dramatic on a small-ish (55") screen; the bulk of the visible image improvement comes from the increased dynamic range. This gets five stars from me for content and five stars for presentation. Highly recommended.

The Planet Earth series is without a doubt the gold standard of nature documentaries, and this worthy companion to the original is made all the more stunning in 4K HDR.

If you want to show of your shiny new 4K HDR TV, This is a great way to do it. Cinematography is EXCELLENT, narration is good and picture is breathtaking! Great Set!

My wife was sold on buying a 1080p TV when she watched Planet Earth. 10 years later, Planet Earth II (in six episodes on two 4K UHD discs) is my bait for the 4K UHD TV we bought from Best Buy. The aerial shots especially show off the clarity and sharpness of the images. HDR not only produces eye-popping color, but also enhances individual pigmentation to bring out a sharper picture. The red crabs on Christmas Island are a good example. Moreover, the program is not just a bunch of breathtaking images. Attenborough's narration puts everything in perspective. A third 1080p disc contains Planet Earth II Diaries, behind-the-scenes footage for the six episodes, which provides further context. All told, this is a must-own set to show off your new 4K UHD TV. I bought this set straight from my local Best Buy store and the buying experience was, as usual, quick and smooth.

Highly recommend watching this series, especially if you have a 4K HDR TV. Definitely massive steps up from the first Planet Earth, which was already incredible.

Another masterpiece to add to the planet earth collection

I am amazed at how the photographers get these shots. And all in 4k clarity. A great follow on to the first version 10 years ago. You won't be disappointed.

I purchased an LG OLED 65 inch curved screen...I have an xbox one s...there is a lot of user generated 4k even with hdr that has amazed me. To say that I was blown away..words can not begin to explain. There are 2 sequences that come to mind. One involving a pack of lions chasing down a giraffe which is as amazing for the camera angles as the 4k HDR presentation...but the one that really blew my mind involved close ups on some Golden Eagles battling over a carcass. The 4k image along with the brilliant colors and lighting of HDR..the close ups and slow motion of the battle..the details and colors of the eagles themselves that no human eye could ever pick up on its own..for that scene alone..as amazing and beautiful and powerful as the greatest action scene in the greatest action film..that alone made 4k worth it.

Not only a great documentary with excellent commentary; but, some amazing photography. to boot. If you have a 4K UHD TV, you will truly enjoy most all of this set and also find it is re-watchable, unlike many other documentaries that you watch, enjoy, then file away. Many of the recorded scenes are reference quality. Don't expect the entire set to be perfect, as some of the scenes, although amazing for their content, were recorded on lower def cameras (some go-pro work) and don't all have the 'video-wow' that others have. That being said, I can recommend this as a blind buy for anyone with a good 4K set looking for great video and a wonderful way to get away to parts of the world that you can only dream of visiting.

David Attenborough is the crusader that the Earth and Nature needs. This series is proof of that. It looks amazing in 4K, definitely worth picking up!

The picture quality is fantastic. I thoroughly enjoyed this film from start to finish. Great to have playing while doing other things around the house.

When I purchased a HD system back in the day, I used Planet Earth as the test for seeing the benefits of the experience. It was impressive. Now that I have a 4K setup, Planet Earth II was my first choice to see the impact of the upgraded system. It was incredible! The detail of the image was immersive and felt like we were seeing it in person. The photography is breathtaking and Sir David Attenborough make it a familiar and unique experience. Only wish there was more episodes to enjoy. Notes: I did not use the default settings on the TV; basically never do that since they're configured for display purposes. I used Cinema Pro on my Sony TV. Make sure you have a HDMI 2.0 cable, or you won't get the full benefit. Also considered buying Deadpool to watch in UHD ...may still pick that up :)

Planet Earth in 4K is a must own whenever anyone comes over I put this on and everyone is mesmerized by the detail and beautiful colors

Another fascinating chapter in this fantastic group of movies about our planet - hoping it inspires more appreciation so we act to protect it.

Definitely worth the buy. Crisp, clear and stunning images from all over the world. The animal interactions are quite entertaining to watch.

Viewed on a large OLED 4K HDR display, it looks like the images are real. Looks like the animals could come out of the screen. Amazing.

This is the disc to show off your 4k TV and player. It's amazing. Not to mention the subject matter is dead on. Highly recommended.
