No matter what age one obtains, we humans will always have a natural curiosity of the planet we live on. Planet Earth 2 is a feast for the eyes, and knowledge for the mind. The work that went into producing this masterpiece documentary truly is a gift to our world. Nature is a brutal as it is beautiful. With this in mind, some scenes may be hard to watch for those with sensitivities. All in all, this master work will keep the viewer in awe. Without giving anything away, you will find yourself "cheering on" certain species in survival mode. Your clue is snakes vs iguana. Get this and see it for yourself!

My wife enjoyed the first Planet Earth, which was 1080i. This steps up in clarity to 1080p and improved sound. We love it and Best Buy got it to us in a jiffy, well-intact. This Blu-ray is a pleasure to watch, the only very slight criticism is that there is a bit more "mayhem" in this second production in places (animal attacks, beast vs. beast) that some might find harrowing or exhausting, pulling for the mammal vs. reptile, etc. I have seen the 4K version of this and it is just a tad sharper and more colorful, but not a huge disparity from this fine Blu-ray copy. You will enjoy!

The cinematography is spectacular but only adds a few more species that weren't in the first of the series(Planet Earth).

Words really can't do justice to amount of content you are receiving for the price. If you are even remotely interested in this series, it is worth every penny. 99.99% of us will never see a fraction of the amazing locations and animals great and small included on this film. The elusive creatures in many locations are rarely even seen by the indegionous locals of the respective locations. Some of the content is hardly believable and certainly stranger than fiction. The creation speaks of a creator. Do yourself a favor and watch the whole series.

I have several 4k blu-ray discs now so i can now contrast and compare "great" versus "good". Everyone agrees that The Revenant is "reference quality" and it is. In fact I only buy 4k discs that can demonstrate they are better than regular blu-ray. My tv an LG 65b6p OLED makes every blu-ray look exceptional, but 4k, when the content is right is absolutely awesome. This disc because of the superlative photography, is in its own league. Even the demo discs of landscapes, etc. you see in the stores can't beat this and nothing else even comes close. A must-have!

I loved the original planet earth narrated by David A and since i recently built out home theater with a 4K projector (Epson 5040ub), I grabbed this set when I saw it on a great deal. Played it using the Philips UHD BD player and HDR worked out of the box with my Epson PJ and some of the scenes form this disc are nothing short of jaw dropping. Amazing picture quality and great narration, but I felt the content is pretty short, especially when compared to the original planet earth. Definitely a must buy if you loved the original planet earth.

There are several reasons to want this Ultra Blu-ray set. First and foremost the content is fascinating. Like it's predecessor Planet Earth, the closeup look at our world is breathtaking. The time and effort that went into capturing this footage must have been staggering. The result is a spectacular look at the Earth in ways most of us will never see firsthand. A nice secondary plus of owning this set is to show off your Ultra HD TV system. If your setup had the capability to deliver the goods, these disks have it. Highly recommended.

I've owned Planet Earth, the original series for years and have watched it more than dozens of times and didn't even know they made a second series until I found it on Best Buy on sale. The series is as expected. Amazing cinematography, sight you'll never get to see in person, hours of amazement that's well worth yhe price. Watch it and enjoy it because in less than a decade, most of what's on this will all likely be extinct.

Bought this with my Sony 4K player and by far the best example of what beautiful 4K looks like. Similar to what the original Planet Earth did for Blu-Ray, PE: II returns with more beautiful visuals. I will say, the only unfortunate point, for me personally (no attacks please), was that it seems Discovery didn't pick this series up and have Sigourney Weaver do narration. I personally prefer her voice to Attenborough's but it looks like they kept a true BBC version on this. Anyway, visuals are still top-notch. Enjoy!

Planet Earth was an astounding piece of documentary television and this second iteration does not disappoint. Using modern technology and new methods of filming you are transported into the wild unlike any other documentary has been able to thus far. With the assistance of crisp Ultra High Definition (UHD) and the vastly improved color spectrum of High Dynamic Range 10 (HDR10) the Earth is displayed in stunning fashion. Do yourself a favor and buy this version of the Planet Earth 2, you will not be disappointed.

As expected, picture quality was astounding. The title perhaps slightly misleading. The content is broken up into 3 basic parts and almost invariably centers around wildlife in those regions. I have nothing against wildlife..in fact I am an all out animal lover/advocate but the title of the film is "Earth"...and I was sort of expecting more geographical content. I am only a third of the way through so maybe that will change....regardless, i am a huge fan of the quality and scope of the film.

I did not believe that this 4k set would blow me away. However, it speaks for itself with the correct set up. The colors shown from the HDR and the amount of pixels make the animals and scenes larger than life. The actual scenes are quite amazing! Check them out on netfli.x however nothing beats physical media. I picked this up at a $30 price point when it was on sale and never looked back. Highly highly highly recommend, this is the best looking 4k in my collection!

If you want to see how amazing 4K can be, this is a demo disc! The cinematography on Planet Earth 2 is stunning. The detail from the 4k cameras translates amazingly well on 4k Blu Ray! Every pore, grain of sand, drop of water and lush environment can be seen with eye popping detail! The HDR on this disc makes the environments have a true 3D effect to them (no glasses needed) if you are looking for a disc to justify a 4k HDR TV purchase, this is the one for sure!

Like it or not I’m going to start this 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray review of Planet Earth II off by admitting I’m not generally a fan of documentaries. Unless the subject matter really interests me I tend to find them boring and rather uninteresting. I’m sorry. I’m just wired ignorantly like that. However, if you’re and A//V enthusiast like us all here there’s no denying the special place Planet Earth holds in all our Blu-ray hearts. Back in 2006 it was one of the first television series to grace the format with its HD beauty. It showcased the possibilities of how grand HD video looked in the home front and basically gave Blu-ray (and HD-DVD at the time) a reason to exist. Now fast forward ten years and we have a new home format competing for our living rooms, 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray. Coincidentally we have a new season of Planet Earth to properly display too. So in essence there’s really no better way to celebrate the first television series on the new 4K home format than by bringing BBC’s Planet Earth II onto the scene once again. I purchased this to show the capabilities of my Sony A8H. I figured I would just browse through this 4K UHD Blu-ray gawking at the video/presentation. And I have done that, but the Planet Earth series is actually pretty entertaining. I've found myself watching the episodes when I figured I'd only briefly watch them for the visuals. Something really good to watch with the Spouse and kids.

I love nature documentaries and I especially love them when David Attenborough is narrating them. I was so excited to hear that a Planet Earth 2 was being released and pre-ordered it instantly. Buying this in 4K is breathtaking, especially if you have an HDR capable TV. This could be considered a tech demo to show off how amazing these TVs can look with proper media. I watched the entire series over the course of three days and loved it. I would highly recommend it.

This is definitely a good show first off very informative and educational good for kids and grownups but the best thing of all is if you really want to test out how good your picture is on your 4K TV this is the way to go with all the bright and vibrant colors of Mother Nature you really can see why your 4K HDR TV can really do and how you set aside good picture TVs from bad picture TVs because most of the time in TV Land you get what you pay for.

In addition to this being a beautiful documentary, you will also get so much from seeing some of the beauty of this world up-close and personal through your TV. If you have a 4k TV and an HD Blu-Ray player, it is going to look like you have your own private tour of the planet and are looking through an open air window. Really, if you want to wow yourself, your family, and your friends, this is the movie to show. Simply a masterpiece and absolutely gorgeous!

I bought this in lead up to getting my Xbox One X (also ordered through Best Buy!) to put the 4k UHD BD player to the test. I have streamed a lot of 4K HDR content through Amazon, Youtube, and Netflix - but it pales in comparison to the uncompressed video quality found on a 4K Bluray. Planet Earth 2 is THE disc to have to showcase your new 4K TV, and will impress even non-home theatre/technology enthusiasts with its clarity, color and wow factor.
