THE PLANET OF THE APES 2001 WITH MARK WALHBERG IS GOOD MOVIE THIS VERSION IS DIFFERENT TO THE ORIGINAL THE DIRECTOR TIM BURTON CHANGE ALL ....BUT STILL I LIKE IT RECOMMEND ..,.,,

So many great actors but I'd probably still prefer the original. It's interesting that the director (Tim Burton) seemed to try to give it a feel similar to the 70's original. The music (composed by Danny Elfman) also followed the theme of the original. All in all, I think I would rather see the original. The apes were more believable. And this version passes up Cornelius, the best character in the original, in favor of a female ape love-interest. Doesn't work in my opinion.

Good movie, not as good as the original but definitely worth a watch. Fast and easy shipping from Best Buy!

A great movie with lots of action, this particular movie is it's own remake away from the trilogy that was done after. A more gritty twist on the human vs ape battle for supremacy.

I love Planet of the Apes, 2001. This is a different version of the story.

I liked the movies attempt to keep the old classic movie look with the make up and set pieces. I loved it.

I never saw this movie when it was in theaters or on video until I got a copy for 6 dollars and in blu ray. The story was a different one as compared to the first Planet of the Apes made in 1967 with Charlton Heston. That one had him and three others as astronauts landing by accident on a planet that wasn't the one they were planning to explore. This new version does involve traveling in space but for a different reason which you'll learn about watching the movie. Story is almost similar about how the Apes ended up running the planet and humans were treated as animals. The ending really was a surprise compared to the original movie. Not bad for a remake.

This is one of those movies that had a lot of hype when it first came out but got panned by critics and kind of disappeared into cinema history, To appreciate this movie you have to like Tim Burton's dark touch on whatever he directs as it is his signature trade mark. It is not for everyone and I suspect that is the reason it was never popular as the acting, especially by Mark Wahlberg is excellent. This is also an excellent transfer to Blu Ray and much sharper than the DVD version. I also got a free coupon for the newest Planet of the Apes movie so the cost of this was about $3.

Have original set, good then and new ones better, more individual characters.

A very intense action flick amazing acting I love it

So, this re-make barely has anything to do with the original movie with Charlton Heston. it was fun in it's own right. I loved the sets and costumes, as well as the make-up artistry. !SPOILER ALERT! -The surprise ending was a bit confusing, if you know nothing about possible alternate universes, wormholes, and all that jazz. Tim Burton loves re-imagining old hits - Charley and the Chocolate Factory, Dark Shadows... If you can't make a better version, make it different. and he's right! enjoy.
