    Good Headset

Great for OS X computers because of it's USB interface thus providing excellent audio quality. Great noise cancellation even on a crowded room you are able to be heard clearly by the other person. Works great with all voice over IP applications. I wish that they were built sturdier because they are very fragile for everyday use. I had an older version of these that came apart after 1 year of use and they were handled carefully. I would suggest getting a carrier for them so they dont get damaged. Another factor is that they do become a bit uncomfortable with a couple hours of continued use on the ears but maybe that is just me. Other than that they deliver great performance for the price and they come with a good cable length.

I love this headset, I bought it about a year ago to use for Counter Strike Source, and what a difference, very sweet headphones, I can hear everything clearly, everyone can hear me clearly, and it has a very nice design. The headphones are pretty light, and I really like the USB plug that it comes with.

    Not built to last

I liked these headsets quite a bit at first. They are comfortable, have decent sound quality and worked about as well as I would expect for this price range. However, after occasional use, about 5 hours a week for 2 months, they broke down. First the wire connecting into the microphone port split open. This meant I could hear with the headphones but I could no longer use the microphone. Soon after that the plastic knobs that keeps the right speaker attached to the headband broke off. Now it just dangles with only the frail wires keeping it from falling off completely. For me, I need something a little more rugged.

    Good Sound - Frail Structure

I play games quite a bit and this was a great headset, while it lasted. The left ear piece that carries the microphone fell off the band for apparently no reason and was hanging by just the cords. I had to glue the ear piece back on and it lasted for 2 more months. It just broke again though. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THESE TO ANYONE... unless they fix the fastening of the headphones. A shame for good sounding headphones. Oh, also they never really fit my head cause there is no adjustments for the band. So If you are buying these for kids... think again. They won't stay on their head.

at about 2 months in the cover for the earphone on the right side kept falling off and continues to which is quite annoying. around 5 months of having this the plastic cover the earphone broke off. i managed to tape it back on and it feels good as new. oh yes and last of all this was my first behind the head earphones and they hurt alot but after a while i got used to it so its alright. and the microphone likes to loosen(which seems to be the case for most plantronics) but this mic has great gain so it doesnt matter were it is for me. it can even be on top of my head and itll work and it has been on accident i didnt notice hehe. i highly recommend these earphones if you are used to behind your head earphones.

    my plantronics story

ok, here's my plantronics story. this was to be my first purchase of any headshet/microphone to use while playing WoW. i first bought the plantronics audio 370. when i got these home and tried them on, they were incredible! they felt super comfortable. the problem was, connecting to the soundcard directly caused lots of feedback when i spoke through the mic. it was definitely picking up some pc noise of some kind (power supply, hard drive, fan, etc). so i took them back. i then bought the audio 645's. they were $10 cheaper than the audio 370's. these connected to usb though so i was able to confirm everything worked fine through usb. i just can't connect directly to the sound card, which i'm kinda bummed about. the 370's, though, were uncomfortable beyond belief. i was going to take them back and get the usb version of the 370's and just pay the extra price. when i got to the store i couldn't justify paying $75ish on the usb version of the 370's, so i bought the 645's. they have usb connections, which is what i wanted, and are very comfortable too. they're not quite as comfortable as the 370's i tried originally but they can withstand several hours of gameplay without any problems. i highly recommend them though. if you want to spend the extra $20 or so, and don't mind looking like an air traffic controller, then get the usb version of the 670's. you won't be disappointed if comfort is your #1 priority. cut

    TERRIBLE! HURT YOUR EARS BADLY!

These are the most uncomfortable headphones ever designed. When I play games, I wear headphones for quite a while and these have nothing but plastic that come over the back of your ears, which, after a short time, will begin to dig into your ears. If they would have simply put some rubber or something over the part of the headset that comes into contact with your ears, then these may have ended up being a very nice set of headphones because the sound quality is good and the microphone works very well. Trust me, you do not want to buy these or else you will be in some serious pain from wearing them. They literally feel like they are cutting into the back of your ears! Do not make the same mistake that I did and stay away from these until they put some kind of soft coating on the part that comes into contact with your ears!

    what i was looking for

these headphones/microphone was exactly what i was looking for. i play counter strike: source and listen to a lot of music, as well as watch movies. so i was looking for a good pair of headphones, along with a mic in case i ever wanted to use it. and i found that in this item. the sound quality is amazing and it has a volume adjuster on the actual headset so you don't have to worry about it ever not giving you the sound quality that you want. also when listening to music the sound does not get distorted at all at higher volumes. the over ear feel, gives you almost like a noise cancelling seal around your ears, almost feels like surround sound when watching movies or listening to music. buy this item you will not be disappointed.

    Disappointing Design

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I purchased this headset to use when working from home with a VoIP phone application from my company. I've gone thru several headsets due to the cord that goes between headset to USB port eventually cuts/nicks/breaks impacting audio quality. Most cords are thin and are susceptible to this so I looked and bought this set specifically because the cable looked much sturdier. Little did I know that the "mic" lead would be my issue. After 1.5 mos use I rotated the boom mic to my mouth and heard/felt a pop. I dialed into a conf call and could hear everyone else but no one could hear me. Audio diagnostic from my laptop indicated "no sound" heard from device. No nicks, cuts or abrassions on the headset cable were found. I investigated the "pop" by opening the ear piece that the mic was attached to and saw the problem...red & white wires from circuit board in earpiece to mic boom was cut. Had I looked at these reviews sooner and saw the same issue being experienced by others, I'd have never bought this device. Shame on me for not researching more. Warning...once outside BestBuy's 30-day return policy, you will have to call Plantronics on the warranty. You will be expected to ship the item back to them (out of your pocket) in CA with a copy of your store reciept and in 4-5 days they say you will recieve your replacement. I guess its back to the Dynex headset.

Excellent USB Headset Option - Very Happy

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

While I am not an audiophile I am not easy to please and I found the performance of this headset to be excellent, whether it be via USB or the stereo jack. I bought it because the only audio jacks on my desktop are at the back of the computer, under my desk, against a wall. They are not easily accessible. The ability to plug this into a USB hub was the most important feature for me. It has worked perfectly. I would have liked for it to be $10.00 cheaper, but I used some reward zone certificates to make me feel better about it. I have recommended it to two different people who also are very happy with it.

This headset is nice and comfortable and works well enough, but the ear padding keeps falling off and is a huge pain to get back on the earpiece. They are NOT comfortable without the padding.

    Okay headset

This product isn't too bad, the only issue (and a slightly big one at that) is that the outer portion of the unwired headphone just falls off at some point in it's career, for both sets I bought it was about 3 months of use-- they're both skillfully scotch taped to conceal it though. Another issue that comes up with actual use is that I needed a USB headset, and although the microphone has a clearer sound, it is much quieter (according to my friends), even when output on any software used (in this case, Ventrillo) is turned up to max. This is an extremely comfortable headphone. I've gotten over these issues mostly, and wearing this headphone really doesn't cause me any problem. Perhaps extremely prolonged use might hurt your ears, but I don't mind it. The extremely long cord helps out a bunch too.

I see that many people do not like this headset, but I love mine. I have owned mine for a year now. I will have to buy another set, not because anything is wrong with it, but because I sat on them in my chair and the left ear piece broke off.

This is my second headset like this. The only drawback is the fragile construction of the microphone (which is why the last one is being replaced). Great sound and a very good value -- much cheaper than comparable headsets.

I would not recommend anyone buy these. They are uncomfortable to the point of almost being painful at times. Microphone never stays in place and is very directional. So if it moves even a little bit people have problems hearing you.
