I remember when stuff like this used to be hard to find, had to go to specialty shops. If you only have one filter at least use this one. Though technically UV isn't a problem with Digital Cameras since they don't have film. It's just good practice to at least use a UV filter.

You spend the money on a new DSLR camera you should really spend a few more bucks and protect the lens from scratches. Get one of these filters (the correct size to fit your camera). Cheap insurance...

I have only taken a few hundred pics with this lens, every pic is in focus with great depth of field and bokeh for close focus. I bought the lens for low light exposure and it’s great for that too.

Mainly purchased to protect my lens from dust, scratches any harmful elements. It does help on harsh sun rays but i dont completely shoot with the uv lens for the image. Mainly on protection

Exactly what I was looking for to protect my expensive lens without having to wait for UPS delivery. A bit more expensive than online but I needed to protect my lens ASAP so I could use it immediately.

As advertised, this lens filter was easily installed and has no distortion evident in any photos taken since being placed on my camera. There is no apparent reduction in light gathered. I'm satisfied.

Platinum filters are good quality and come with storage case. When buying lenses I always get a cover filter for protection and keeping lens surface clean , cheap insurance for lens cost !

These UV filters are made by a premium filter maker. The metal is not brass like the super premium glass but the lens is coated and strong. I put these on expensive lenses with no regret.

The Platinum filters regardless of size are excellent filters and at a reasonable price. I particularly like the slim-line design.
