This truly is one of the most essential games to own if you have a PS3 and is an excellent reason to buy a PS3! The story follows members of a small country's militia as they fight to defensd themselves from the advance of a brutal empire. Along the way, we learn about and come to love the leaders of Squad 7, sometimes called the "Lucky 7s". The story sequences are like an interactive anime and boast superb animation and characters designs. The scenes move at a good pace without going too fast and you can watch sequences again if you missed anything. The gameplay is both fun and addictive! The action sequences are turn-based strategy and give the player lots of freedom to position forces and decide what types of units to place where. Each type of unit has different strengths and weaknesses, so depending on the unit comosition, the game experience can be very different each time. Individual members are distict as well and have attributes that can have a defenite impact on combat. Just remember to select the original Japanese instead of the English dub. The Japanese cast boasts some outstanding voice actors, some of the best in anime!

This is one of the best SRPG's, and is one of the best games of all time.

Got this game for Christmas and can't put it down. This is one of those games that come along and outshines almost every game that release at that time. With beautiful cel shaded graphics, it looks just like an anime or even a water colored story book. The gameplay is a mix of real time strategy, RPG and third person shooter, something that nobody would think would go together but mixes perfectly. If you have a PS3 and like SRPG's (or just strategy or RPG's), then you should pickup Valkyria Chronicles.

This is a beautiful game that anyone with a Playstation 3 should own, and I'm not some lone gamer who thinks so. Go checkout the great reviews its gotten from IGN or gamespot or the reviews that people have given it on Amazon. I love the story and characters, they keep you wanting to play until you've finally finished the game. the game play will also definitely keep you entertained.
