I was a little hesitant to upgrade to the PS4 Pro at first. I read several reviews from various sources beforehand. I decided to replace my original PS4 and I'm glad I did. The Pro definitely runs games smoother and faster. Sure not every single game gets a boost on frame rate but for the ones that do it's worth it. Just give Horizon a try on the Pro and you'll see what I mean. Also the Pro runs quieter than the original PS4 does. That alone was worth it for me! No more whining sounds from the system trying to keep up with graphic heavy battles or levels. I've had the chance to play on 4K and 1080p and personally can't notice much of a difference. I know the 4K debate goes on and on but for me I don't see the benefit of rushing out to get a 4K tv just for the PS4 Pro. Anyway I feel the Pro is a worthy upgrade but not an absolute must. If you don't currently have a PS4 than get the Pro.

Our family loves our PS4 but dad and mom get no game time to play. We watch our movies on our PS4 too. So we bought one for the master bedroom so adults get play time. Now about the PS4 if a fantastic console. We play games, watch TV and our Blu-ray disk on the console. It does it all except being an AV receiver and SmartThings hub. If Sony could do that then it would be the perfect

I used to own the original PS4 and I currently own the Xbox One X. In a nutshell, this version is worth the upgrade if you have a 4K (HDR ready) TV and you’re invested in the Sony ecosystem (own a lot of PS4 games and content).
I won’t compare the Xbox One X to the PS4 Pro, because I like games exclusive to each system and I personally want to take advantage of my high end TV.

Didn't think I'd get this when i already have a regular ps4 but after research and knowing the perks of the system, I figured it's worth it. Faster load and download times especially during system upgrades. Of course better graphics. Best price for it during the holidays get it while you can! Haven't played or set it up but soon. And the the Pro enhances the psvr as well.

I’ve had a PS4 since 2016. I was looking at the specs of the 4K PS4 Pro and figured why not upgrade. I know the PS5 will be out some time next year but figured the Pro will suffice the need for speed. I swapped out the drive and reinstalled from backup. The speed is really good and the graphics do seem to be a bit crisper. Feels like the load times are a bit faster. This also gives one the access to 4K games. Video game consoles sure have come a long way since the days of Atari, Colecovision and Nintendo. I remember the time when graphics could only be had at the arcade and a fistful if quarters lined up. Now, arcades are a thing of the past but will always be a memory and the PS4 lets one to relive it over & over again.

Louder than my Uncharted PS4 that suddenly died on me. A bit taller, so I had to fit coasters under my TV to lift it a centimeter. But I enjoy it.

This console has about 10% - 15% overall graphics quality even on the same TV as a standard PS4 on ESO. That's the only game I've played with it. It increases the load times by about 20% though (probably loading hi-rez textures). I had to buy another console, and I was just future proofing when I bought this. But the quality difference is enough that I find myself preferring to play on this one now that I have seen it. I bet it's a huge difference on a real 4K TV. Sooner or later, I'll upgrade my TV. If money is not a huge issue for you, and you are buying a console, you are better off going with this. Otherwise, if you upgrade to a 4K TV later, you'll regret it. If you have a 4K TV, I'd lean very hard towards buying this. Note though that it's about 2x as thick as my PS4 slim -- not that that's likely an issue in pretty much any case.

I really like this console and the newer ps4 controllers, I really appreciate not having to buy a separate kit for $30 just to get a rechargeable battery for the controller (thanks a lot xbox). The graphics are far superior to the xbox one S as I have been solely an xbox/mobile phone/ipad gamer for years, I'm very impressed with the console and the ps4 menu system I feel it's more zippy than xbox. However I really hate that they didn't put a 4K blu-ray player into the system, I still can't comprehend why Sony decided not to considering an xbox one s is almost half the price and has one built in. That's the only reason I'm docking a star for a feature that should've been included!

The PS4 Pro edition was worth the little extra as the added storage allows for all important games and videos saved in the easy access home screen. Lightning fast graphics and processing make this console a hit.

The best gaming system money can buy!

I own, or have owned, all of the major gaming system and the PS4 Pro is certainly the best of all of them. One feature that may be overlooked is the faster Wi-Fi on the Pro, it really makes game downloads go faster but most importantly makes gaming online smooth without having to connect via LAN. Of course the UI is the best, lightning fast and easy to use but with the word today that the new 4,50 update will allow for external hard drives, we'll that's just icing on the cake.
But let's be hionest here, many folks want the Pro for the enhanced graphics and the Pro delivers that in spades, as well as helping to solid frame rate and stabilize graphics in the PSVR, of which I also own. I'd highly recommend anyone considering the PS4 Pro, I am loving it and use it nearly every day while my Xbox One doesn't get utilized nearly as much.
