    You'll want to keep your device off while charging it to get the full 80% the packaging displays...my smartphone was on (with no apps open) all night w/ the charger plugged in and got a +15% charge. Make sure to push in the connector fully when inserting into your device, & look for the charging icon. There is no instructions sheet w/ this product, so I wish i knew what the lights on it stand for. It's small, thin, sleek & light. So overall, I'd recommend it--much better than the other charger I have.
