This is a good buy for the price. Upgrading to an SSD will greatly improve any computer. But if you are to buy one, get the 256 GB or 512 GB.

I have 6 10,000 RPM drives bought some of these to see just how much performance would increase was completely disappointed raid or not theses drives are just as fast as a conventional 7,000 RPM drive if you want fast ssd's than this is not the one for you good to keep around though and use as a hot swappable drive to store junk in

I took my HP laptop in for a checkup. An since I had the Geek Squad membership I decided to let them check the laptop out it seems like every time you go in there they push for you to buy one of these memories for your computer they did it with my desktop which is a Dre Beats all-in-one and they've done it with this one I think it's their way just to sell this product there's no need for it because I took my old drive to another computer store outside of Best Buy and they said there was no need to even have this product in I recommend getting two or three opinions before you buy this product from Best Buy Geek Squad

Happy with my new PNY SSD 120GB

My notebook was getting super slow and pausing all over. I cleaned everything up, still slow. I ran scandisk, hp diags and passed all tests, even performance. Before throwing it in the dumpster (Electronic Recycling) I decided to try a solid-state drive (SSD). Imaged it over and now its faster than it ever was.

This provides a great laptop backup destination. When I upgrade my router, I'll plug this into it and use it as a network drive and NAS device. Love it.

Slowed down considerably after 2 years

I purchased 2 of these back in 2013. They are now 2 years old. The first unit has slowed down considerably after two years. My boot time went from 20 seconds to over a minute today. The second pny 120gb unit will not run Windows 10. It crashes my computer when it goes into sleep mode. This drive does work well with Windows 7. I recommend looking at another brand. I have a 128gb from a company that starts with a T and it works wonderfully on my MacMini Late 2012 model. Its still as fast as the day it was new.
