Got this to replace my desktop hard drive. No issues. Installed easily. Working great. I use it for my C: program drive so start up is nice.

This is an inexpensive SSD with very responsive performance. If you are wanting to revive an older laptop/desktop without replacing this I would recommend it highly. I have done this for a few people and the results are dramatic. With larger Solid State Drives now pricing much lower this is a very good investment. Suggestion: If you are using windows and install any large programs I recommend running disk defragmentation on windows 10 to "TRIM" the drive to restore performance. Takes only a minute or two.

I bought this to upgrade and speed up an older laptop. It has met my expectations for both speed and size and was very affordable.

I replaced my start up drive where I have Windows 7 installed which was a 7,200rmp Western Digital standard Hard Drive. This new SSD hard drive boots up from off mode to ready mode in 10 seconds where my standard hard drive took almost 60 seconds. I will never go back to the old style hard drives and the pricing on the SSD at Best Buy keeps dropping so I plan on adding a larger drive for more back up space. Never thought a HD could improve the performance of a 4 year old computer like this unit did.

They market this as an entry-level drive and it's my first SSD ever. Bought it on sale for $59.99 which is a steal for an SSD with this many gigabytes and these are relatively new drive models introduced in 2015. Upgrading my PC from Vista on an IDE drive with 5gb of memory, a dual-core AMD cpu, and SATA 2.0 ports on the motherboard to plug this into, my startup from shutdown time went from 5 minutes to 30 seconds. My restart from desktop time went from 6 - 7 minutes to 1 minute. Everything loads and is ready SO much faster. I'm VERY happy with the performance boost and it works fine with Windows 10 (Insider Preview build 10240). BIOS recognized it with no issues. It doesn't come with an adapter/brackets to mount into a 3.5" drive bay nor an SATA cable. This drive will revive a sluggish system, no doubt, and is definitely worth every penny if you can get it on sale. I deducted one star because since this is my first SSD, I can't compare it to any others to justify a 5-star rating.

This is the best hard drive for the money I have installed dozens without a problem. This is by far the best replacement hard drive if your sata drive fails or if you just want better performance and reliability this little baby will work wonders on you machine and is available in 120gb, 240gb, 480gb, and 960gb the only one I would stay away from is the 120gb it's far too small and it is not much cheaper that the 240gb pny so spend the extra $20 and get double the storage

Plugged it into my HP laptop and it made it significantly faster. Very affordable, easy and beneficial upgrade.

I use this SSD drive in an external case that supports USB Attached SCSI (UASP) which enables high throughput speed. The drive is used to run a Windows 7 virtual machine off my Macbook Pro Retina using Parallels. The drive is fast enough to feel native. In fact, the OS image on this SSD runs faster in Parallels than it did when that same image was being run natively on a PC Laptop on a rotary drive. It's hard to beat the price! So far zero issues with it.

Fast read and write speeds. Made the macbook pro it was onstalled in much faster. Good value and performance.

I bought this for my 2011 Macbook Pro, but it initially couldn't even read it because it wasn't formatted for Mac. Needed to use a PC to reformat it to something readable on both PC & Mac (I used exFAT). Once I did that everything worked fine, and speed is noticeably better than HDD (though the drive itself was pretty heavy for an SSD). Definitely not as seamless an experience as using other SSD's like the Samsung EVO 850 (works on both Mac & PC, no need to reformat), but a 240GB SSD for $60 is a great value, and I'd recommend this to any PC user. Mac users take caution if you don't have means to reformat.

I like these little drives. Fast, reliable and don't break the bank. Easy install. What's not to like?

It is a nice SSD drive based on the balance of price and performance. It is good for replacing the existing hard drive of a laptop. The performance of aged laptop is improved a lot. With promotion, it is a good deal.

I purchased two of these SSDs for aging laptops. They were easy to swap out and now my older laptops start up almost immediately. I was able to upgrade to Windows 10 and 240GBs is large enough for the operating system, programs and still allows storage space on the drive. The price on this hard drive was attractive enough that I would consider this drive again if I had another computer that could use an upgrade.

best thing about this drive is its so thin and light weight so it helps with no moving parts it doesn't heat up plus lightweight and thin was told they are durable to also help boot speed time powering both on and off.. so hopefully this is useful.. if your looking for an upgrade you need a SSD!!! it will also help your battery power because theres no moving parts so it takes less battery power to run the SSD

This was on sale at the time I needed a new SSD to repair a laptop with a failed hard drive. It worked as expected - far faster than the conventional drive it replaced. I wasn't particularly concerned if this was the "best" SSD available. I was fixing an old laptop and needed a drive the same day, and at a good price. This drive met both criteria, and has worked without any problem for months now.

For $90 dollars before tax, it doesn't get much better than this particular SSD. I've been able to maximize my laptops performance with this drive. Sure, it's not as good as a differnt drive by samsung or intel, but it's still more than capable and significantly cheaper than the other brands. I'd buy it again.

I had gotten an SSD for Christmas and was amazed at how much it sped up my boot and apps. I got this one for my laptop and was amazed at how much it sped everything up. It would also seem that power consumption is lowered due to the SSD. Installing was not difficult because of Youtube videos. No matter which comp you own an upgrade to an SSD should be on your list

I bought this bc I was upgrading to windows 10 and wanted to put my OS and a few apps I use most on it. Boot times are crazy fast and it was on sale at the time I purchased so I couldn't pass the deal up. Get it if you want your files to load in an instant and install was a breeze, just be sure to update the firmware after installation

Bought this as an upgrade for my Toshiba laptop. Has an i7 processor and 8GB or RAM, but was slow as Christmas. After reading online, it came with an anemic hard drive. Installed this PNY SSD drive and it's a completely different experience. The laptop is incredibly fast as I had hoped from the start. No issues at all with the drive.

put this SSD into my laptop computer, replacing my HD at 5200 rpm. After cloning the drive, I noticed an instant difference with my laptop, speeding it by 50%. Although there are faster SSD's on the market, for the price I paid and the results I received, it was a good purchase.
