For my Samsung Galaxy Active S5, from about 20% percent, it charges to about 70 or 75%. Does it Jon for now, but will probably get a different one in the future.

Great charger to keep in my purse

The only thing tht is concerning is when it gets hot at times when charging from a wall socket instead of using a computer.

It comes pre charged so it's ready to use. It works great and gave my Motorola Photon a full charge. I do recommend viewing the user guide online after purchasing because there is not one included in the packaging. I found that out the hard way.
