Saw this movie in theaters and couldn't wait to own it. Bought a 4K TV so I opted to get the 4K version instead of the standard Blu-ray. Redeemed code in Movies Anywhere so I can stream 4K content since I do not own a UHD 4K player yet. Supports Dolby Atmos, which is fairly good, if you have the setup. If your Movies Anywhere is connected to Vudu, make sure to check out the extras.

Case was of exemplary quality. Inside nothing was loose or shaking. The quality of the movie itself on the discs was excellent. Bought it for my girlfriend who loves Pokémon and was extremely excited when the movie was released and all the more happy when she saw I had gotten the steelbook edition. 5/5 and everything you should expect from a premium version of a release.

Most children love Pokémon s and emojis, sooo this movie is right on time to fit in with children minds. Give them something of their own to trust and enjoy. I always appreciate decent movies from Best Buy. They always have the latest on display up front sooo you don’t have to go searching over the store and if you need help there is always an associate to help. Good news

Do you like Pokémon? Watch this! Do you like video games? Watch this! Do you like Ryan Reynolds? Watch this! Do you like a solid, family friendly mystery? Watch this! I’ve never been a Pokémon fan... never played the games, watched very little of the anime (younger siblings), know very little of the story and lore... and yet, I liked this a lot! Yeah... just watch this!

Detective Pikachu is a fun, fun movie. The VFX are fantastic - they really did a great job bringing the cartoon characters to life in the real world. Ryan Reynolds is a great choice to voice this character as he adds tons of grown-up (yet still family-safe) humor to scenes that would otherwise be a bit slow and meandering. We saw it in theaters and bought it on disc.

I didn’t grow up on Pokémon. So I went into this with an open mind and was pleasantly surprised. Of course it does help there is Ryan Reynold’s charm as pikachu! This 4K Blu-ray Disc is sharp and precise but not as good looking as other top tier 4K transfers. The world is imaginative and the movie is watchable whether you are a long time fan or not. Highly recommend.

The 4K movie looks great. I bought 2 copies. I pre order one and the other one I ordered it online 1 week later (a birthday gift) because it sold out in stores and when it was delivered, it came out with a dent. So if order one, consider that. Other than that, great product. It comes with a Pokemon trading card. Great movie for the family. Specially for Pokemon fans.

Detective Pikachu was a very fresh telling in the world of Pokémon. Although parts were predictable, it was a gorgeous film and even gave me some pretty intense feelings at times even though I haven’t been a fan of Pokémon since I was a kid. Saw it late in theaters because someone dragged me to it, but when it was over I instantly pre-ordered it. Totally worth it.

.... on the other hand, a Xbox one standard controller (62.99 American) broke in 2.2 days., and the only reason I settled on the standard is because they didn't have the elitist. Still Xbox Hardware is again to blame even the Micro-SOFT elite con-failure, I Mean controller one day just S.T.B. No trauma, just poop shoot. Which is why I gave Pik Det a solid rating.

For the Pokemon lovers I honestly believe this is great live action movie to watch. The graphics are amazing and it as a good plot staring everyone's favorite Pokemon. What makes it better is that Pikachu's voice is starred by none of then the coolest guy we all know and love, Ryan Reynolds! Definitely an awesome movie to watch with the family!

With all the "DARK" farchise movies that have come out this was a prefect movie that was light and had small dark moments and was a prefect balance. The features were just fun everything about this movie is just a fun time you'll want to just watch when you want too. If you haven't gotten this movie yet I say you should. It's a fun time for all.

I didn't really know what to think going into this movie and to keep it short and sweet, I liked it alot. Where it worked best was the detective story. It was nice to see something you loved or love growing up in a different setting doing something you love. Where it falls is the typical, "Run!" scenes. Couldn't stand them to be honest.

The packaging on this steel book is excellent, and really stands out on the shelf. The movie itself is a gem, the perfect video game movie that stays close to what makes the source material so endearing while creating a fresh and engaging story for newbies. Danny Devito should have been the voice of Pikachu though. Only complaint.

A just for fun movie! Every effort was made to honor the original animated series. (Almost too close..... The girl reporter was truly irritating, just like most of the women in the original.). I had hoped for a little more depth of the characters, but all in all fun. Having gotten that out of the way, the texture and movements of all the Pokemon was incredible! I could watch again and again. Absolutely fascinating. Some of the best in screen.

This is probably my favorite movie of 2019, and I was looking forward to own it on 4K Blu-Ray ever since I saw it in theaters. This steelbook is sexy and it comes with a Detective Pikachu Pokemon card (complete with the HP-restoring move "Coffee Break"). Great purchase for sure. Hope to see more Pokemon movies in the near future.

As someone who grew up playing some of the Pokémon video games I was excited for this movie and it exceeded my expectations. I really enjoyed the Pokémon being brought to life and Detective Pikachu himself (Ryan Reynolds) nails this role! I would recommend this to anyone - especially if they are (or were) a Pokémon fan!

This movie I thought was going to be such a let down because of the curse of video games to movies...especially since the detective Pikachu game wasn't all that praised. But holy wow this movie was so well done and written. All the Pokémon were brilliantly animated. Story was well done, could be better, but I was very happy that Pokémon up to x&y were included in the movie which I was happy about. Overall, must watch for all Pokémon fans :)

I solely bought this version from Best Buy because of the 3d combo pack. I have an extensive collection of 3d blu-rays and kind of disappointed that I have to import some since they’re not being sold stateside. I was thrilled to see this being offered as a Best Buy exclusive. I only docked it 1 start for not being a 4K 3d combo pack. I hope Best Buy keeps offering exclusive 3d combo packs since I don’t see most retailers doing the same.

So my initial thoughts when I saw the preview took me back to the 90's when the first Pikachu movie came out. I was like, "oh no, another goofy movie." I purchased it and watched with my grand daughter and I must say it was very entertaining! I really enjoyed it. Humorous and fun! Good addition to any movie collection.

I found this movie to be surprisingly enjoyable. These types of adaptions can always be hit and miss. But with Ryan Reynold's as the voice of a Pikachu with a caffeine addiction I took a chance and I am glad I did. Even with Ryan Reynold's involvement the movie remains family friendly yet enjoyable for both adults and kids. Parents may even be willing to sit through it more than once as their kids have it on constant repeat.
