A bolt out of the blue, from thin air, use whatever analogy you want, this set miraculously just popped up in Best Buy this week! And the results are simply spectacular! We had fair warning with the Limited Edition 1-3 Movie set released in February, but this tetralogy sets a new bar (and hope!) for future Pokémon movies. I bought this set specifically for Rise of Darkrai. It's my fave of the matter trio Trilogy because it starts the Dialga/Palkia conflict, a shared storyline that spans two other movies and pits multiple Sinnoh legendaries in the battle versus the two hotheads. But I had forgotten just how detailed RoD, and Giratina and the Sky Warrior both are! Sinnoh's niche was more Ice-types and colder regions, and it shows in this set with huge cascades of mountains with snow pack, glaciers, pines, these two are the most scenic of any of the Pokémon movies I can remember. The Blu-ray transfer only makes them livelier. But at one point you'll notice the pattern in the set; huge production value and awe inspiring detail, but the plots are starting to look similar. Enter Arceus (pronounced R-K-S) and the Jewel of Life to shake up the routine. This entry concludes the Dialga/Palkia (and Giratina) ark by throwing the God Pokémon himself into the fray. The Arceus movie is one of two of the movies in this set that I honestly believe have better plots than most children's movies. There's foreshadowing, well done time traveling, very well done assimilation of the content from the Pokemon and their abilities straight from the games, and for both, emotional content of multiple parties. Arceus and the Jewel of Life is also BEYOND psychedelic. It is the most colorful outing in the set, and possibly in all of the movies. Period. It may not have the scenery p*** of RoD or GatSW, but it is lush in its sequences. Zoroark Master of Illusion is a very filling dollop of icing on an overly filled cake, and it's unfortunately bittersweet. Like I said, very good plot, foreshadowing, great emotion, but something happened during production. At about the 1:05 mark and through out the third act the drawn animation just looks horrid. You can tell the animators reduced frames and used their sidelined animators to finish up the movie. This is unfortunate, and it happens for nearly 20 minutes! Even the credits are better done than this movie's finale! It very well could have been the perfect Pokémon movie as well because it isn't some world saving calamity. It's small scale and intimate with some very likable promotional Pokémon, Zorua and Zoroark. It also had the star power of classic Generation 2 characters backing it such as Celebi, Totodile, Chikorita, Cyndaquil, the Legendary Gerbils, a duo of Scizors, this movie was so good until the end. Ulgh! This set is honestly better than both the Gen 1 set, and the 2nd rate Miramax release of movies 4-7. The cover is glossy steelbook, the discs are region A, the sound is 5.1 or stereo (2.0) and there's English subs. However, there are no Pikachu shorts, and there are no original Japanese audio tracks. Also, all the movies each have their own Blu-ray disc. If I were you, I'd get this as a nice stocking stuffer to coincide with the Sun and Moon release this holiday season. For the beaming Pokémon fan in all of us.

Came quickly and in decent condition. Had some tears in the plastic wrapping but not big ones. Overall it was worth the purchase.

I stumbled across this during a visit to Best Buy, having no idea it even existed. Having followed the Pokemon series since it debuted, and with the Diamond and Pearl arc being my personal favorite, I was thrilled to find a steelbook of the four movies from the series on Blu-Ray. I was a bit hesitant, since the recent offering of the first three Pokemon movies on Blu-Ray turned out to be rather lackluster, but I decided to take a chance. Fortunately, it paid off. Unlike the previous release, there are no missing DVD extras, since, well, the original DVDs were rather bare bones as well. We do finally get subtitles this time around for those that are hard of hearing, and a standard stereo and a 5.1 surround mix as well. The image quality on all four films are stunning and sharp. I compared them with my DVD copies and it totally blows them away in clarity and lack of noise. If you've got an HD TV, it is totally worth the upgrade. At this point, you either enjoy the Pokemon animated/movie series or not, and for Pokemon fans, these are four solid entries into the franchise. The first three (Rise of Darkrai, Giratina and the Sky Warrior, and Arceus and the Jewel of Life) loosely form a 'trilogy' of sorts, as there is an overall story that carries over from film to film. The fourth film, Zoroark: Master of Illusions, is its own standalone movie. The plots are generally pretty standard fare, though occasionally will throw in a surprise or two. The last two in particular are rather ambitious for mere 'kids movies', and have some darker themes that may be fine for the school age set, but smaller children may find some elements a bit frightening. Some extras would have been nice, even an image gallery would've been something, but since none existed in previous versions, I can't say there's anything missing. Good writing and voice acting, great visuals and music make this perfect for Pokemon fans.

what is better than 4 movies in 1 case and an awesome steelbook!

Pokemon movies are always fun, I have seen every Pokemon movie, I enjoyed all these movies, each movie is on its on disc, the only thing I have to say is that the company that created the steelbook case messed up the rating, the movies are always rated G the back of the case says that all the movies are rated TV-PG.

I was so happy to purchase this. Great collection and only available at best buy. The steelbook is beautiful and contains 4 pokemon films from the diamond and pearl era of the show. Highly recommend if you are a pokemon fan. It looks great next to the other pokemon steelbook. I hope they release the other pokemon films in a similar format.

I purchased this as a gift for my 12 yr old sister. She's a huge Pokemon and Minecraft fan, just to give you an idea of her tastes. She tore throw these movies in 2 days! The animation is smooth and the package is really nice. I'm a huge steelbook fan and wouldn't mind having this one in my collection. Highly recommended.

I went to BestBuy to buy my cousin his Christmas gift (Pokemon Moon) and was strolling through the DVD section when this beauty caught my eye! Didn't even know this was being released and what a great surprise! Hardcore fans need this asap!

It’s amazing you can get the steel book Best Buy exclusive for less than you pay for the standard edition. The movies look and play great! The value is definitely there for 4 movies

Bought it on a whim because Diamond and Pearl was my favorite Pokemon series and the movies were pretty good. Since I already owned them on DVD, I wanted to see the difference on Blu-Ray. I'm blown away at how gorgeous the transfer is.

I was glad to get the first three films in a steelbook collection and now a 4-movie collection of the Diamond and Pearl series. The cover art design is a nice feature of the main characters of each film.

As a collector I had to get this steelbook for my boys because they love Pokémon. I've been eyeing it for awhile and have been waiting for to go on sale and when it did I snatched it up.
