Play it!! Such a good game! First pokemon Game on the switch and it doesnt disappoint!

Pokémon Shield is exactly what I’ve been waiting for in a Pokémon game and Gamefreak did pretty well for a first true attempt. This game at its core is what we all have come to know about the series, but the presentation is much more streamlined this time. For those who don’t want to have their hand held on the tutorial, great news is you can choose to skip explanations and get right into the new story without any assistance. The gameplay is fantastic and the visuals if you actually take the time to look are quite impressive not only for a Pokémon game, but for a Nintendo Switch game in general. Dynamax is still a pretty awesome thing to see on screen and Max Raid Battles are the icing on the cake. I’d recommended this to fans of the series and people who enjoy turn based RPGs...

Great solid game, with a beautiful dlc storyline and legendaries

This is a really fun and entertaining game I really enjoyed playing it and experiencing it though the story is a little lack luster compared to other Pokémon games it is still such a fun game to play

It's a really fun game to play for my 7 year old son. He plays for hours and seems to really enjoy it. He is a Pokemon fanatic and this was a great game for him. Not too difficult to master either

I mean its nothing special from other Pokémon games, its sorta like a rinse and repeat with a couple of new things in it. its still a fun game regardless, and gives us a new element!! just like how Pokémon sun and moon had z crystals, something that wasn't seen before, we now get dynamaxing. this game is more of a casual game for everyone that just likes playing pokemon in general.

Was a gift for my 9 year old son for Christmas. He seems to love it. And loves to tell me about the new Pokémon in the game

I used to play Pokemon all the time as a kid but haven't really bothered to buy any of the games since Sun and Moon. Wanted to get back into it before the Sinnoh remakes came out so I decided to pick this one up even though I didn't have high expectations based on all the negative things I had heard. It ended up being a lot more enjoyable than I expected. Sure, there's issues like easy battles until the end of the game, lack of major villains for most of the game, smaller Pokedex, etc... but it's still an enjoyable game even though it's geared towards kids. I binged it and it brought me back to the hundreds of hours I spent grinding my team to high levels. I guess even after 10+ years some things never change. The music is great, the character interactions are entertaining and I liked how they incorporated the box legendaries into the story as more than just a plot device for the evil teams. I didn't expect to become invested in the game that much but I did. I'm glad I purchased. I understand older fans feeling left out but I think that people have such high standards that they aren't willing to give anything a chance. If you are just here to play a Pokemon game and have some more "casual" fun then this is definitely a great game. My biggest complaint is that the Dynamax pokemon are way too loud. Turn the volume down on your TV or adjust the in-game sound settings. I had my TV volume ridiculously low and they were still so loud that people in the next room over were asking me what was going on.

I'm barely starting with this game after many years of playing on the Nintendo DS games. I transferred all my mons to Pokemon Home and transferring them into this game is awesome. I like a lot of the QOL updates to the in-game experience, and the overall graphics remind me of the nostalgic days of Pokemon Stadium. I'm not finished with the main story, but so far it's been very pleasant to play.

Best of all the pokemon games out there. The graphics are so nice. New pokemons are awesome. Storyline is a plus.

This was a really fun game. I love the new wild area they added in this iteration. I do wish it was a little harder, but maybe they will add difficulty levels at some point. Great fun.
