Customers are saying

Customers often highlight the solid gameplay, beautiful graphics, and engaging story as major strengths of Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield Double Pack. Many also praise the Wild Area and the introduction of new Pokémon. However, some players find the game too easy and express concerns about the amount of content. Positive feedback also focuses on the open world, ease of use, and the overall fun factor.

I am a long time fan of the pokemon games. Thus far I like this one alot. Seeing pokemon walking arround is really cool. While the game has a few minor issues I would recommend giving it a try. I bought the double pack so my wife and I can play / complete with each other.

I know there was a lot of bad press about this game, however it is still a great game. Could it have been better? Sure but that doesn't mean it is a bad game. Graphics are beautiful and having a new region to explore is amazing. Super fun game with many hours of gameplay.

Before these games ever came out, people were bad mouthing them into the ground. After playing up to the fourth gym leader I can honestly say these games are great. I do hope in the future GameFreak takes the criticism and conform it into the next line of Pokemon games.

My son absolutely loves this game. I'm thrilled Best Buy sold it as a double pak. I couldn't find it like this any other place. I suppose if you are a fan of Pokemon, and the games there is no reason you wouldn't like this game. ( this was one of his Christmas gifts)

As a "gen one-er" I enjoyed playing this game so much. The gym leaders were interesting, and I loved all of the new pokemon. The online features are great as well raid battles are so much fun! The only thing I didnt like was not having a full national dex, but that's ok because I was finally able to complete my first pokedex 100%. The story was also kinda meh, but I normally dont expect too much from pokemon storylines.

I wouldn’t say I’m a hardcore true fan of Pokémon but I certainly did play some of the games growing up and watched the show. So whenever a new game is releasing for it, I am always interested and this one didn’t disappoint and certainly brought back memories for me.

This game is a true pokemon game with a step forward. Theres plenty to do, for the first time pokemon will chase you and you can still find a rough time after beating the game the wild pokemon being a threat. Many pokemon to catch and the beat control of your team.

My kids are really enjoying these games. I pre-ordered this double pack because my kids had been asking for them for months. One kid was asking for Pokemon Sword and the other was asking for Shield so this pack was very convenient as I only had to make one purchase.

The biggest gripe most people will have with Pokemon Sword and Shield is the lack of the national pokedex. There are only 400 pokemon in total in the games. I think the game is almost too linear. There are no intricate caves or hideouts. The most interesting addition to the game is the wild area which acts as a game lengthening buffer zone akin to Hyrule Field in Ocarina of Time with how vast (and empty) it is.

I really wish more was done with this game. It would have been nice to have fully dubbed voices for the text and Pokémon. To have all Pokémon available. To have some more customization possibilities for the playable character. And much more. But sword and shield are still very fun games. It may not be the complete switch experience I would have appreciated it’s still a great step in the right direction.

I haven't played a single Pokemon game since Pokemon Gold/ Silver. So much has changed but the visuals are stunning. Picks up pretty fast and you determine how fast you want to finish the story mode. I personally spent the majority of time in the wild area.

Pokemon co. Has a long history of innovation on its first series of games on a console and then works to get every bit of the consoles abilities in the following titles. Albeit this game has controversy, what they did accomplish makes me very excited with what they will do to build on these in the future. These games are solid adventures that give you a feeling you are actually contributing to the world.

It took awhile but we finally have Pokeman for Switch and it's worth the wait. Sword and Shield is a good blend of the three previous versions without losing the classic game play feeling. I am grinding my way through slowly so as to enjoy all the fun.

Have been having a blast playing both of these games! Have one to my nephew and kept the other for myself. But now his whole family had started playing. So now they are going to buy another Switch and game, so they can stop fighting over just one.

It's another fun pokemon game. If you don't plan to capture all 800+ pokemon and just want to go on a fun little pokemon adventure then this will be a perfect fit for you. Especially thanks to the multiple quality of life changes made in this game.

Since this game came out just a week ago, I've somehow put almost 36 hours into it. It's so good. Max Raid Battles with your friends in the Wild Area is one of the best things added to Pokemon ever. Whichever version you get, you'll have a blast!

Despite its flaws, this game manages to pull through with fun gameplay, colorful vibrant graphics, and a great soundtrack! Play it for yourself and you’ll definitely get pulled in. Even if you aren’t a Pokémon fan. As a RPG you’ll have your fun.

Absolutely amazing game with the new gym battles that add a new twist with the introduction to new as well as returning Pokémon. As a returning gamer, I find this game as well as Sun and Moon to be a good addition to the original Pokémon game.

Let my daughter pick one game, and I got the other (obviously she picked Sword because the exclusives are way cooler). No real point in buying the dual pack over each separately since it is the same price, but it did come with 2 extra pokemon codes which is something I guess. The games themselves are pretty cool, if you played a pokemon game then it's basically exactly what you expect.
