Bought one for both my 6 year old and 10 year old. Fantastic for beginners and children. Cards are set up in a way to teach you how to play!

My kids loved everything about this game! They got a kick out of seeing what Pokémon cards they got and I loved how it was parent friendly and I learned a bit about Pokémon myself.

Pretty awesome birthday gift I got for my bros; does a great job of introducing the actual competitive game. The decks it comes with aids in learning how decks are made and how they are used, along with the help of the instructions.

got my 5 and 8 year olds (and myself) starting in pokemon card game with this box set. Really fun. After a few plays with the preset simple decks, we mixed the three decks to make two more custom ones. So there's a good amount to work with to learn the game and swapping in and out cards to a playing deck
