Pretty fun. Not enough characters to choose from. Good graphics. My kids enjoy it a lot

Fighters on Nintendo platforms have used the above phrase as a selling point for years-- For one, there's the immensely popular Smash Bros. circuit, and that's even before you get into stranger things like the Puch-Out!! reboot and Tatsunoko vs. Capccom. Pokken Tournament is truly like no other game before it on this or any system in that it follows up with this claim. It's a game-changer, and not because it's the first game that's equal parts Pokemon and Tekken *and* features a haunted chandelier as a playable character. No, it's because Pokken boasts a completely new fighting setup, unlike most new player-friendly titles which implement merely a stripped down version of any existing system. But like all modern fighters, Pokken's single player mode exhausts itself rather quickly and most of the challenge is found playing against others online. Practicing that new system is key to winning matches for hardcore competitors, but the character designs, specials and environments are so colorfully animated, well-realized, and, most importantly, fun, the greatest challenge in this game is playing it without smiling.

Pokken is an awesome spin off Pokemon game. The fighting can be compared to that of Tekken. But other than that it is rather unique. It is a joy to see the current playable Pokemon rendered in 3D. Each playable Pokemon has their own attacks that draw from the main Pokemon series. If you like Pokemon games and fighting type games this is a definitely a must own.

fun to play 1 on 1 fighting, the only downside is the limited roster

I bought this game for my 10 year old son who is an avid pokemon fan. It is a fighting style game but designed like one is fighting in a tournament. He really enjoys it, especially playing online against others around the world. My daughter also likes pokemon but she is 6 and doesn't really grasp the concepts of combo moves and stuff. Overall I think this is a nice game for kids and those into pokemon.

Don't expect Tekken with Pokemon characters. It's more of an amalgamation of the two into a most unique fighting experience. Transitioning between a "3D free-running projectile throwing competition", and a "2D close-combat combo fest" on the fly may take some time to get used to, but with a little practice, you can be the very best, like no one ever was.

Pokkén Tournament has fantastic graphics. It's a great fighting game. You can play for hours and never get bored! Charizard is a tough character. He can be pretty devastating if you know how to use him. Pikachu is really fast and pretty tough for a small Pokémon. Garchomp is very fast, tough, and athletic. He can dodge attacks if used properly.

I'm not a fan of fighters and only a casual fan of Pokemon (loved it as a kid, but haven't really gotten into it since), but this oddity mashup intrigued me. The shifting 2D/3D style takes some getting used to, but it works well enough. If you like the concept of fighting games, but often find yourself intimidated by them, this might just be the thing for you. Very fun and unique crossover project.

Simple controls, deep mechanics, tons of dynamic Pokemon action.

This is the Pokemon stadium game I've been wanting for a long time. It is very fun and the Pokemon look awesome. The main downside is that the game doesn't have a very large roster of playable Pokemon and the developer has already stated that they don't plan on releasing any additional Pokemon or maps in the form of dlc.

Fun game. Great online matchmaking. Easy enough for beginners and complex enough for experts.

I always wanted a pokemon fighting game and now I can play it.

The game is really fun. Looks pretty good. But Jesus the voice acting is awful

Pokken tournament didn't get the same hype as Smash 4 or Pokémon Sun and Moon. It entered the scene quietly but so far has been very well received. It's a blast to play with a few caveats - the characters are so far limited and the Pokken controller, while very cool, only works with this game. With some new characters on the roster this game will continue to get a bigger following!

If you've ever played a Pokemon game and wanted to be able to control your favorite Pokemon, then this game is for you! A simple to learn control scheme and 2 different playing fields that swap in battle depending on what you do, the game is easy to learn, but complex enough to provide a challenge for even the toughest Pokemon Masters!

The fighting is awesome, just wish there was more content

If not the best game it's one of the best!! I was hesitant to buy another game but glad I did!! The boys love it!!!

For decades since it's initial release; Pokemon fans have been yearning for a console release that lets us dig deeper into the battles the franchise is known for. And though the roster is small for now; this is an amazing kickstart into what could be an ongoing spin-off for fans who prefer hectic combat over adventurous collecting.
