After seeing this movie in the theater I knew I needed it for my own collection. It is a great modern take of Pokemon. The SteelBook is also gorgeous with some of the best gloss I have seen in the few hundred I have seen or bought. Easily a 5 star recommendation.

With a world full of horrible video game to movie nightmares this movie was a pleasant change of pace. Decent humor, reasonable script, and plenty of lifelike Pokemon to be found. honestly this was a good solid purchase and a all around joy for the whole family.

This movie is for the fans of Pokemon. It is family friendly. The movie has humor, action, and a murder mystery. If you like Pokemon you will most likely enjoy this movie. I have seen it three times now and it is just as good the third time as the first.

Even when the movie is not entirely related to the pokemon series, you'll like the references made on it. But don't expect to see pokemon battles and gyms, since this is based on a game called the same for the 3DS. Still the story is not exactly the same.

Even if you’re like me and have never played the Detective Pikachu game, it’s easy to understand what’s going on story-wise. All of the Pokémon came out exactly as I would’ve imagined in real life, and the story itself is very heartwarming. I liked it a lot!

Awesome movie and made me want a real pokemon. Adults will love this movie along with the kids. Very funny as the main characters work together to solve a mystery. I saw this movie with my son at the theater and we knew we had to own it once out on dvd.

This is an adorable modern take on Pokémon. The movie is charming and Justice Smith and Ryan Reynolds do a good job. One of the better video game based movies! I did not grow up playing Pokémon, I play Pokémon GO, but that’s it, and throughly enjoyed this.

Took my 6yr old to see it in the theater. She was hooked thereafter. Had a Pokémon 7th birthday party and getting the movie was on her birthday gift list. It’s a good adaptation of the Pokémon characters and the live action. Pikachu, Mr. Mime, Ditto, and more of the long time favorites make appearances. Kids loved and adults enjoyed it too.

The dvd was very clear on what it had (such as special features) and what all I could expect. I had already seen Detective Pikachu so I also knew that I would love to own this movie. I am very glad I bought it and that it was available in-store.

Pokémon: Detective Pikachu is a film that I enjoyed despite knowing nothing about Pokémon going in. The native 4K transfer comes off a bit flat, without much HDR or WCG use, and the soundtrack isn't as dynamic as it could be for a release this big.

Film looks gorgeous and was shot on 35mm cause that’s what the filmmakers wanted. Image and sound is amazing

I will admit I had my concerns about the set (a 3D Blu-ray, when 3DTVs are not necessarily a thing anymore?), but that aside I thought this was a great set for the price. Detective Mode on the standard Blu-ray was a fun treat, for sure!

I'm not a Pokemon fan whatsoever. My son wanted to see this, so I took him to see it. I was pleasantly surprised by this, which is why I bought it. This is a very entertaining film, and I know nothing about Pokemon, besides Pikachu of course.

When ace private eye Harry Goodman goes missing, his 21-year-old son Tim is prompted to find out what happened. Aiding in the investigation is Pokémon and Harry's former partner: Detective Pikachu. Finding that they are uniquely equipped to communicate with one another, Tim and Pikachu join forces to unravel the tangled mystery.

Although I am not familiar with Pokemon, I have to say that I really enjoyed this film. The story is engaging and easy to follow. The characters are great as well. The visual effects are incredible. The picture is reference quality. The audio is excellent as well. A little light on supplements, but overall an excellent package.

This Steelbook looks great the colors really pop on this. It looks amazing and 4K is a must for the best quality. The movie is great for any Pokémon and non Pokémon fan. Very enjoyable for everyone. No need any prior knowledge of Pokémon.

I highly recommend this movie to true Pokemon fans. Yes it's not perfect however Ryan Reynolds made Pikachu and Justice Smith made the amazing detective. Kids will love it just as much as adults and makes u feel ur in the pokemon world :D

Loved this take on the pokemon universe. People it is nothing like the show or main video game!!! It's a iteration of the detective pikachu game on the Ds handheld. Great action and good for the kids. Cgi wasn't over the top! Check it out

Detective Pikachu is a delight, great fun for the family! To be honest I wasn't expecting much, but this is a well written movie with big budget CGI and special effects. Justice Smith is exceptional as the son of a slain detective. It isn't easy acting to a non existent costar but he is o good you get swept up in his adventure.

I absolutely loved watching this movie in theaters and I knew that I NEEDED to get the steelbook for this movie. I have yet to watch through special features or watch the movie using the Detective Mode, but the move is great fun for all.
