Pokémon Legends: Z-A is a fantastic addition to the series and feels like a bold step forward. The gameplay is engaging and fresh while still staying true to what makes Pokémon so enjoyable. Exploring the world is immersive, the visuals run smoothly on the Switch 2, and the new mechanics add depth without feeling overwhelming. It’s clear a lot of care went into this title, and it’s been a joy to play from start to finish. A must-have for Pokémon fans and a great showcase for the Switch 2.

The most entertaining Pokemon game to come out for the Switch console, taking the gameplay loop of Arceus and refining it. Real time battles are a lot of fun and shake things up in a fresh way for veterans of the series.

This game has too much hate. My daughters and I have been having loads of fun with this latest installment. The new battle system is neat and a nice change of pace. The tutorial is a bit long but other than that, the game moves ok.

The second entry to the fantastic Pokemon Legend series. I loved the gameplay and exploration of the city. Slightly bland graphics at times.

The game is fun. Biggest difference from the last Legends game is that there is more of a focus on Battling instead of capturing and "researching" pokemon. Battling is more dynamic instead of it being turn based, moves are on a cool down and you can move to kinda position your pokemon. Much more engaging. I do like the ZA Royale, its a fun concept that you pretty much do alot of the battling in a section of the map against NPCs every night if you want. The side missions can pretty funny and fun, and the Alpha pokemon are pretty big when compared to their normal size versions. Its really funny seeing a big version of your favorite Pokemon just follow you around the city. Mega-Evolutions make a return from previous 3DS games. You will get the ability Mega Evolve certain pokemon not too long into the Story. Taking on Rogue Mega Evolved pokemon bosses is pretty fun because you and your pokemon are battleing this really big mega evovled pokemon with alot of different attack styles, like a boss will have a ranged attack that you and your pokemon need to dodge or it can make copies of itself or call for help from smaller pokemon. The boss encounters themselves are pretty fun and you NPCs who fight along side you. Graphic wise, it looks good on the Switch 2 and the Switch 1. Mainly the Pokemon and NPCs look good but the background and the city are just average, like you can tell not as much work was put into the environment. Sound design is great. Alot of the little sounds you hear like a shiny notification or the deep Alpha Pokemons sound is very distinct. The Soundtrack for certain characters are pretty good. The Story is pretty solid. Really just trying to figure out whats going on with these certain types of Pokemon and you meet a lot of characters along the way. If you've ever played a Pokemon game its about as interesting as majority of games in the franchise. What I dont like about the game: Not really a stark difference from the Switch 1 version, outside of the framerate and clarity of the game. While the game does have alot of fashion options, the options for Male characters are terrible; makes you kinda wish you had clothing that the NPCs where wearing. I don't like how some megastones are restricted to rank battles/online - not saying it can't be fun or chaotic but it just that there only doing this because they aren't giving them away in the game itself (or permanent mystery gift) and/or they dont have like a PVE online component like Raids. I also dont like how the research levels (while somewhat easy) are a step back from Legends Arceus. Also I dont like how you do have to trade some pokemon to evolve them (I though with this being a Legends game we were passed this). The game is fun. If you like pokemon, customizing your character and actively battling with your pokemon then you'll really like the game. If your expecting a pokemon game to really show you what the Switch 2 can do or if your expecting a game significantly better then Legends of Arceus then you may be disappointed. Overall, this is another pokemon game that you can have some fun with and spend some time hunting and capturing pokemon.

bought Pokémon Legends: Z-A and really enjoyed the fresh real-time battles and exploring Lumiose City. The gameplay feels new but still familiar, with fun missions and smooth controls. Graphics could be better, but overall it’s an exciting, refreshing Pokémon experience I’m glad I purchased and would recommend it highly.

This game was absolutely amazing. You can tell the designers had more time to work in how the graphics are less janky and glitchy than Scarlet/Violet (much as I loved those two). It plays like a dream, it provides a challenge for gamers looking for something more than the standard adventure, the story was amazing, it's absolutely addictive. This is definitely on my "play the same thing over and over again" list.

1000 battles… how much time have I wasted? This was a fun game, the interactive battle mechanic brought life to what Pokemon battles might actually feel like. The clothing aspect was fun as well. Where it faltered was that it didn’t feel like a bustling city and when you only have the one city to explore in the whole game, it makes it feel a little lack luster. Overall I don’t regret buying it but I feel like they could do better

Awesome game, it feels incredibly good to get your money's worth. I've got more than 100 hours logged and the shiny hunting being so easy and accessible will have me playing for 100 more while I wait for the DLC. Best Buy brought it to my window, didn't even have to get out of my car and I was able to not have to worry about missing my delivery or worse.

I had and continue to have a blast with this game. I'm playing on the Switch 2 so load times and graphics aren't negatively affecting my opinion. The gameplay loop is fun to me and I do like exploring the city of Lumiose. The characters and city ooze personality and there's little details in the way the pokemon interact. If you enjoy the series, this is a game I would at least recommend trying.

If you like pokemon you'll love this game. Ignore the people complaining about the graphics. I fell in love with the gameplay immediately the new battling system is fantastic, the game looks great in my opinion the map is simple but theres TONS to do. I'm currently over 60 hours in and not even near the end game (mainly because of shiny hunting) but overall I definitely recommend this game.

This pokemon legends game is so fun- it has been a great experience. I let my dad play it for a little and he ended up buying his own game. The game keeps players interested and shows some of our younger audiences what it was like playing with these gimmicks from the start.

Instead of turn based, combat is real time, and SUPER engaging. The Music is awesome in this game, theres arenas at night where you can battle ALOT, You're able to traverse on buiildings and below to find pokemon. Its a super nice change from the normal franchise. Its a must get

Pokémon Legends ZA takes an interesting spin on the normal Pokémon formula. So far, I’ve been very satisfied with my purchase. I would definitely recommend this game for someone who has played Pokémon in the past and even someone who wants to get into the Pokemon series. It gives you a fresh way to play without having to commit to the normal gameplay loop.

This game seems to get a lot of hate online. I enjoy it for what it is. Yes, you're stuck in one city, but the devs made it explorable with new areas that unlock as you progress. The new battle mechanics are a fun change to the classic turn-based mechanics of classic pokemon games. The story is a good continuation of XY, but it doesn't feel complete. My biggest complaint is that they didn't make the more buildings explorable, but this adds the possibility of unique events within different buildings in the future. The map would be massive if you could go inside more buildings or if the buildings you can enter allowed you to explore more rooms. This seems like the biggest oversight since so many older pokemon games had department stores and houses you could enter. You can't even really explore the Richissime hotel outside of the forced story progression. You could at least go to another floor in X/Y. I enjoy the game, but Nintendo and/or Gamefreak could have invested more into making the city fully explorable. I'm not sure if Gamefreak is losing interest in Pokemon games, or if Nintendo isn't giving a big enough budget or isn't providing approval on certain development aspects. It's a pokemon game so it'll sell, but cutting back on the quality will kill the series if more isn't invested to keep up with expectations. They don't even have voice actors for cutscenes after almost 30 years and we can see what Gamefreak is capable of after seeing Beast of Reincarnation. Hopefully new areas are added for special events. The first event/added side quest for Diancie was a few cutscenes and a battle. It was lazy. I want to be able to explore the buildings with maybe an underground tunnel network connecting them. This would be a great DLC.

    Why i think Z-A deserves 5 stars

Others may focus on what could be better and perhaps Game Freak should review Pokémon's traditional lack of voice acting However, I believe media should be evaluated by itself before being compared to anything This is why i give Legends Z-A 5 stars because no matter how it compares it is still an amazing game with an interesting story to me
