Need this game to get Meltans for Pokemon Go

This game has a tie-in with Pokemon Go, as you can transfer a Pokemon in order get a mystery box which lets you try to capture several Meltans in the wild for 30 min when activated in the wild. One thiing we didn't realize until after we bought it was that we needed to play about 3/4 for the game before we reach a place where we could trade. This took a while, but my kid was MORE than happy to play the game on the Switch until that stage was reached. If you are buying this just to get the Meltans for Pokemon Go, just be aware that you can't do it right away.

Awesome game and great time passer. Trying to catch shiny Pokémon is a full days work if you're LUCKY. If you aren't lucky, be prepared to dedicate a few days to this. I like the fact that Pokémon no longer have to learn HMs. In this case Eevee learns them as techniques and can still learn four battle moves. I chose this one over Pikachu to experience a different starter and because I want an alolan vulpix. Hope this helps. Also, it sucks that you can't trade from Pokémon Let's go to Go. You can only trade from Go to Let's go.

Guys, please do some research before buying this game. It's more of a casual game that's meant to catch pokemon, especially shiny types. You don't really battle other pokemon or trainers like sword and shield, but you do, do some battles. This game is not meant for everyone. But, if you enjoy catching pokemon and want to hunt for shiniest, give this game a shot.

My 7 year-old son and I bought this to play together. He has watched the show but never played the games. We are loving the easy transition and introduction to the Pokémon world. The only negative is that it is a really easy game so far.

Personally don't have much history with Pokemon, but bought this for kid's birthday present and they are very happy with it. Still getting used to the way Nintendo games barely get discounted.

Received/Purchased this as a Christmas Gift. I've gotten several play-hours out of the game so far and I've only gotten through 4 of the 8 Gyms. Purchased the Digital Download Code version and the Code was printed to my Receipt as well as directly e-mailed to me in-case I'd lost the Receipt. The email was already waiting for me at home! Loved the game and the speed of which the code was sent, we went back to the store the next day to get 2 more game game-codes for the Nintendo Switch!

...you’re going to love Let’s Go. When they first announced Pokemon: Let’s Go, I was initially turned off as it was presented with the idea that leveling up would be fashioned after Pokémon GO; you capture Pokémon without actually fighting them. That said, I gave it a chance, and I’m very VERY glad I did. First, yes, capturing Pokémon a la Pokémon GO is a pretty good way to level your Pokémon as your team levels up together with every one that you catch. However, you find yourself battling other trainers in the in-game world more often than catching Pokémon; there’s just so many of them to fight. The feel of the game’s story seems a reboot of an earlier game, taking advantage of the modern gaming technology; a good move. I’m a little disappointed with the Team Rocket story arc, though. I felt like it could have been more involved. Overall, what sold this game to me was its personality, i.e. Eevee. your starter Pokémon who travels with you is a blessing and a curse as it is a perfect Pokémon; its stats are best in everything. This is great for helping you through the occasional tough battle, but I learned that Eevee is pretty much stronger than anything in the game as I was able to more or less solo every Gym leader, the Elite Four, and most of the legendary Pokémon with just Eevee herself. She also got access to moves that seemed far overpowered and felt as if they made Eevee just shy of invincible. That said, the game is not without its challenges. I suspect my experience was an exception and very much not the rule. My wife is playing and she tends to use a variety of Pokémon in her fights. Overall, Pokémon: Let’s GO is arguably one of the better, if not best, iterations of the franchise and definitely a solid RPG. I’d argue the game’s difficulty could be upped a notch or two and still be equally as fun and challenging.

    Gotta Catch 'em All

I thought i'd be fine if I just caught a few. You know, catch one or two on the weekends with friends. But, soon I started catching 'em on the weekdays before work, and soon enough even before work. Pokemon is no joke. They don't say "Gotta catch 'em all" for nothing. If things start getting out of hand, please seek help. You don't want to end up like I did, wife and kids gone, out of work, and looking for that next catch in a back ally.

I remember playing the original Red/Blue/Yellow back in middle school and have loosely kept up with the series over the past 20 years playing at least one game of each generation. Reliving Kanto in a 3d environment and hearing all the classic songs revamped gave me chills the first time. This game is an easy 80/100 as a stand alone title, but if you have nostalgia on your side it boosts it up to near perfect. I rate it 95/100

I enjoyed playing this game and love the fact its compatible with Pokémon Go on the phone. After I beat the game, I stopped playing though. I enjoy the battling and having the best team to become a Pokémon Master! I hope they come out with more Let's Go versions with newer generations so that we can transfer in our other Pokémon from Pokémon Go into the games!

Any Pokémon fan will love it. Old school guys will get the nostalgia, newer fans won’t know what they are missing. Supremely dumbed down for a more inviting and approachable, casual game. The hardcore Pokémon players will get board fast, the development system is very simplified. The whole game is a little too simplified in fact - some of the features that have been present since Gold/Silver are not included. The argument of “its a Yellow remake” doesn’t hold because many areas have been modernized. All in all, for casual gamers, new fans and old school guys it’s a blast. Hardcore might get bored too fast with lack of features, but new visuals and feel is worth it.

I've always been a fan of Pokemon, but lost a little interest when some of the Pokemon started to look a little less like Pokemon at about generation 5 and up minus a few from Pokemon X and Y. This game takes you back to the beginning when we all played Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow. This game has great 3D animation that shows the familiar Kanto Region in a new light which I think is pretty cool. I was skeptical about this game because of the leveling up system where only Trainer battles and catching Pokemon levels up your party, but it works and you get used to it. Catching Pokemon in the game is really fun. Battling is fun too, but the battles don't feel crazy accomplishing because you can really overpower your Eevee in this game. You can't evolve your Eevee into any of it's evolution forms, but if you want to have one of the Eevee-lutions, you can find some in the wild, and it will take some time. This game overall is purely fun and not much of a challenge like the first few Pokemon games, so if you're looking for a challenging Pokemon game I would recommend re-playing Gen 1 to Gen 4 over again if you need a fix. Would highly recommend getting this game if you have a Switch, or if you know someone that has one close to you this would be a great gift. I give it 5 stars because although it was easy, it was still a fun game and didn't disappoint.

Beautiful, marvellous and nostalgic. I´m very happy and proudly with Game Freak and The Pokemon Company. All days I go out my home and catch pokemon on GO and then ,in my home, transfer my new pokemon to switch. Its so perfect. And the new level up mechanic catching is more logic (not to kill every wild pokemon).I love shiny hunting and the chain to find good ivs.

Honestly I love this game. I grew up with my siblings playing Pokémon (I was never interested), but I loved the shows. I wanted to get this game for the Switch to see how it was and it’s so fun and cute! My brother said that it’s easier compared to the other games, but as a newbie I thought it was great.

If you love Pokemon games you will love this game. This game has a different spin on the series instead of battle Pokemon to catch them you catch them by throwing pokeball. I didnt think I would enjoy using motion controls for throwing balls at Pokemon but it is quite enjoyable. Also I love seeing the pokemon in the over world instead of having random encounters.

I told myself I wasn't going to get this game, but once it came out, I immediately drove to the store to pick it up. I, like many others, have a soft spot for Gen 1, so I had to see the graphical changes made from handheld to console and it is absolutely wonderful. 3D models of all original 151 Pokemon look great. The Pokemon GO mechanic is a nice add to Let's Go. Basically safari zone, chucking balls at Mon's trying to capture them. Sure, battles with wild Pokemon are stripped, but it seems less time consuming now. Also, there were plenty of trainer battles along the journey. Seeing Pokemon in the overworld instead of random encounters is fantastic. I can finally breeze through a cave without Zubats all up in my face. YMMV of course, since there are times where they can clutter and trap players. CGI scenes and some bonus content added to the story are nice surprises. Pikachu and Eevee couldn't be any cuter. I really hope we get Gold/Silver/Crystal Let's Go versions in the future!
