A great introduction to the world of pokemon, and a very quick, fun trip through the original games for returning players. The pokeball plus accessory is a lot of fun to use, but will cramp your hand in longer play sessions for those of us with larger hands. A ton of fun, easy to play, great for short chunk plays. Game does a great job leading you around, with plenty of surprises if you veer off the obvious path. Incredibly adorable. A must own for Pokemon fans, especially if you enjoy the Pokemon Go App.

I was hesitant to pick up the game because it seemed so basic. There didn't really seem to be any post-game or challenge. To some degree, that's right. The campaign was predictably short, which is no surprise because the original games were so short. The lack of wild battles was a little jarring at first, but I appreciate the brevity the routes and caves have now that you don't have to worry about random encounters. The game lacks a lot of the staples of the mainline titles, like EVs and breeding, but those aren't missed too much. The important changes were kept from recent generations, like the addition of bottle caps to modify the IVs and steel, dark, and fairy typing. The most important thing is that multiple of each Pokemon are available in each game, barring Mewtwo, which means that you can easily complete a living Pokedex. The addition of master trainers in the post-game almost encourages having a living Pokedex. Things like extra evolution stones and fossils are nice, but it does cheapen the attachment you might have with any particular Pokemon when the game rewards and encourages you to catch 200+ of the same species. The thing I appreciate most and unexpectedly was the self-contained nature of these titles. The pokedex isn't an endless chore and the entire thing can be completed with the help of a friend in under 30 hours comfortably. I think the game excels with its link to Pokemon Go with the Pokeball Plus, which automatically spins stops and gyms in the mobile game and functions as a Pokewalker/Game controller in the Switch game. The addition of the exclusive Pokemon, Mew, and having to play both games to get Meltan/Melmetal is frustrating since the former is a glorified paywall and the latter is time consuming for the sake of adding more playability without much depth or content. Overall, if you're hesitant, I'd say go for it. It's cute and charming.

This is a great game that mixes classic handheld Pokemon games with the new mobile Pokemon Go app. The included Poke Ball, while not required, adds an additional layer of enjoyment. You can use it as a controller to catch your Pokemon in the game, or just use it to take your favorite Pokemon for a walk and get rewards in the game when you return from your stroll. If you enjoy either the mobile game or the classic handheld versions, get this game, you will have a blast!

I've only played this game for a little over 2 hours at this point, but I am hooked. The game looks beautiful and Eevee is incredibly adorable. Playing with the Pokeball Plus is an interesting experience that does require some getting used to, but it further immerses you in the environment and makes for a truly unique experience. I still haven't gotten the hang of catching and how the game determines whether you throw it spot on dead center or the completely opposite direction, but I'm sure I'll get that after playing a bit more. The new (to your standard Pokemon game) wild encounter mechanic is interesting and I wasn't too sure about it at first, but it makes you want to catch everything you see, which is exactly the point. I love being able to see all of the Pokemon running around in the grass and then running into them to catch. Everyone gets experience when you catch Pokemon and there is a similar bonus system to Pokemon Go (more experience for Great/Excellent Throws, catching on your first through). I only played with a second player briefly but it's interesting timing your throws together for a greater chance to catch a Pokemon. With a second player you also fight with 2 Pokemon during normal trainer battles, which is certainly almost cheating because it makes it so easy, but that's not something that bothers me and I think it's great to be able to include someone else while playing. Putting a Pokemon in the Pokeball Plus is great as well, and when you do so then hold the button down it will flash, at which point you can shake it and hear the Pokemon inside. All in all this is exactly what I was hoping for.

I love this game! So much fun. Even after you beat the game, there still are more fun things to do. Music is amazing as well. The poke ball plus that comes with this is well worth it! It can do so much. It can catch pokemom for pokemon go game, can use as a joystick, can take your pokemon on a stroll and it even comes with the pokemon mew which isn't in the game at the moment. Buy this game with the go ball. It is well worth it!

This is one of my favorite Pokemon games, possibly because it is an actual Pokemon RPG I can play on the TV. The Pokeball Plus controller is actually a really nice controller for the game. I really enjoy using it over the standard joycon. The game itself has good graphics and music. The gameplay is as you'd expect it to be, fun and entertaining. Overall I recommend this game to Pokemon fans and RPG fans alike.

Let’s get this part out of the way now....this is NOT a CORE [JRPG] style Pokémon game. Don’t go into it expecting the grind of the traditional handheld games. That said this is an absolutely fantastic game! A beautiful blend of the traditional Kanto region games and Pokémon go. Gone are wild random encounters. You will always know what you are about the try to capture before you do it, And I say capture and not fight, because gone also is the repetitive jrpg style battles where you have to whittle down Pokémon health to a sliver just to try to capture them. This Is both good and bad. Those looking for a challenge will be disappointed in that...but those looking for a change of pace or those new to the series will love it. Your battles occur vs other trainers and in gyms. They are traditional turn based. This is a great game for those new to the series. It’s especially a great game to introduce young players into the world of Pokémon with out the complexity and grind of the traditional games. My only complaint is te forced motion controls...so,e will like it some will hate it ( I hate it) Best thing I can say is those who like me dislike them handheld mode makes then a very minimal thing. I highly recommend it as a fun game that has all the Pokémon charm without the grinding and heavier aspects of the series. So for those that want a change of pace light hearted adventure, or those brand new to te series this is a must buy.

I had an awesome time reliving the nostalgia with my wife playing Pokemon: Let's Go, Evee, with the pokeball plus edition. They brought back the nostalgia along with new game features that added to the hours of fun gameplay. Also, you have to have the Poke Ball controller, takes the game play up to a higher level. Thank you Nintendo Switch for what you have done here!

Bought this for my fiancee who loves the pokemon franchise; with her favorite pokemon being eevee. My fiancee tears up when she sees cute things and this game is all about the cute factor. It's easy going and relatively mindless compared to the main games but the focus is on your companion. If you love eevee or pikachu, these would be great casual games to play.

This game let's you put in effort and regards you for it. It is definitelyore casual than the main games but it maintains the fun of past games. Seeing everything scaled in 3d at appropriate sizes is also really fun. The pokeball plus feels solid and works well to control the game, and it adds that level of immersion that is not commonly felt in Pokemon games.

All the media coverage and fan complaining about this game made it out to be a terrible product. Instead, its actually really fun. Its just a spin off, but it has all the fun hallmarks a pokemon game should have. It even introduces some feature I really hope gen 8 keeps next year. Overall I really enjoyed this game. I would recommend it to any pokemon fan.

This updated version of Pokemon Yellow really blew my mind. It was so fun and easy to play, incredible game. Brought back so many memories. I also really recommend getting the bundle with the Pokeball plus controller. Really feels like you're catching those little monsters in the wild and it's fun to carry it around with you and earn experience points!

I played Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow as a kid in the 90's, and in that moment of my life I was engrossed in the fun of collecting and battling monsters in this awesome world. Now, well over 20 years later, I get to share this same experience with my two kids. Walking my 5 year old daughter through using the controls and seeing her face light up at catching a Bellsprout on her own has already justified the purchase price. I know there are some fans that want a new entry in the core series, and I'm interested in playing one too, but for now this is a fantastic throwback for me and an even better new experience for my kids. I can't believe that after all this time, my kids get to have the same experience I did in Kanto, but in a way that is relevant and interesting to them.

Pokemon on a real console... AMAZING!! Had so much fun playing through this - it's more of a blend of PoGo and old school handheld Pokemon games, but it's easy to pick up. Being able to transfer your mons from PoGo is also fun, and a great way to fill out your dex without hours of searching for rare spawns.

A near perfect remake of the first Gen Pokemon games. Definitely worth picking up for veterans trainers and newcomers as well! THE Poke Ball WORKS awesome, and lights up as well as emitting a bunch of in-game sounds! You also get Mew with the Poke Ball, so that's reason enough to get the bundle!

This game is a good pokemon game if you don't want to leave your house, it has everything from the Kanto region and the main quest will keep you occupied for hours, after completing the main stuff there is always more to do. The pokeball controller is a really neat idea however it feels a bit uncomfortable at times and can be quite finicky, the throwing of pokeballs in this game can also being quite infuriating as sometimes it doesn't go where you're throwing to.

Although its the catching mechanics have been changed it's still a very fun game to play if you play casually. There is still plenty of battling to be done with the other trainers so overall it's a very fun game but don't expect the same competitive playstyle from previous games.
