This is great !
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I dont know what the first game was like . But my kid loves this thing. The Poke ball / game controller is a fun way to bring the game and concept.into real life. It can link to the cell phone version which can be lacking and gives it ways to be more fun. I can actually " Catch Pokemon" on my phone and gift them to my kid on the switch. which is aw3some.because the cell phone version is free and so are the pokemon I catch.. It's kinda like when you bought your toddler an expensive gift and they liked the cardboard box even more. well this time they like the gift and the pokemon I catch are more cardboard boxes...lol which dont cost a dime.

Fun to be back in Kanto
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pokeball Plus is a cool controller. Taking your Pokemon for a stroll gets you XP. Still working my way through. I like how Pokemon walk around so you can choose who to encounter.

Kids love it
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My boy and girl, both Pokemon fans, like the game a lot. The Pokeball is a nice add-on, but not necessary to enjoyment of the game. Beware though! Apparently the Pokeball has a 'gift' Pokemon, but only one per ball, NOT one per account. Since we have two kids, there was disappointment when the second kid didn't get the bonus Pokemon. Also, the game is pretty much the same as Let's Go Pikachu, so you probably don't want both. (Though I'm assured there are differences, the kids couldn't really explain what they were except that some Pokemon are in one game but not the other. Not sure why that matters...)

A Pokemon Classic Remade Into Something New
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a player of the original Pokemon Yellow, I was thrilled to learn about this game. Many aspects of this game are just like Yellow from the Pokemon that follows you around on screen to the same / similar progression as the original game. The visuals are nice and crisp. The Pokeball Plus takes a bit of time to get used to at first but it's not hard at all to use. I love that you can use the Pokeball Plus with Pokemon Go as well. I would overall recommend this game to new and old fans alike looking for something to play while awaiting the next main entries of the Pokemon series.

Returning to the beginning

Fun, simpler version of Pokemon
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a little skeptical about this game even when it was announced because of the influence from Pokemon GO but I have to say I am pleasantly surprised. There are no more random encounters in tall grass instead Pokemon appear so you can see which Pokemon are around. While there is no battling with wild pokemon (the game uses the Pokemon GO way of catching Pokemon, chuck balls at it and feed it berries to make it easier to catch) I actually don't really miss it. Going through caves was actually pleasant without fighting off 100's of Zubats. Training up Pokemon is also easier since everyone in your Party gets XP. You still battle other trainers and you battle the Gyms/Elite 4 like previous games. As a whole I probably still prefer the older style of Pokemon but this game is actually a lot of fun to play. **There are slight differences in Pikachu and Eevee. You get the cover Pokemon as your starter (duh) and each game has a handful of version exclusives.

Good game, could have been more
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I could say a lot about the game itself but there are plenty of other reviews for that. I will just say that the pokeball is cute but a tad inconvenient. I was hoping to use it in conjunction with my pro controller but it forces you to use it by itself which is annoying at times.

Good for younger audiences
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Note: I would give this game 3.5 stars if I could. If you're looking at this game you likely fall into one of two camps. A pokemon fan who is going to buy the game cause you gotta catch em all, or a parent who is looking about getting a game for the kids. The game is generally simple, enough that children as young as 4 could play the second player in coop mode. Solo the child should be at least able to read. Adults will likely enjoy the look of the game, but will find themselves bored by the lack of challenge. The poke ball plus addition is fun for children and adults, adding that little bit of immersion. However, it does come with some tradeoff in menu control. I would recommend to a diehard pokemon fan or with children but not as a solo experience.

Great crossover game..or beginner Pokémon fan game
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let’s just say right off the bat... long time Pokémon players might be disappointed. So this game is a cross between the traditional Pokémon series and the pogo mobile game. It removes some of the harder rpg style aspects and grinding of the traditional games and simply it’s catching and battles. Those of us long time series fans are going to miss that aspect, But this game is a perfect jumping on point for younger players or players coming over from Pokémon go. The simplification of them system is perfect for them. That’s not to say long time players won’t enjoy it...I certainly did. It was a nice trip down memory lane since this is basically Pokémon red/blue. Overall a fun game, that a great way to introduce new players, But if you want a more traditional experience play shield or sword.

Nostalgia done right
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pokemon Let’s GO is nostalgic, yes, but done in a way that respects the original. The Pokeball Plus enhances the game, and makes Pokemon feel real.
