yes the game is full of bugs and performance issues and the graphics are not great, but it has a lot of heart and the story is hands down the best we have gotten since sun/moon. if you can overlook the flaws, this game is 100% worth it and has sealed its place as one of my all time favorite pokemon games

Let me start by saying i love pokemln amd as a 92 baby it was a bit part of my childhood. Admittedly im still more of a digimon guy and after gen 3 i became very casual. I always plag the new releases but i dont have the same spark i did as a child playing. The last few mainline games i felt like i had to force myself through. I had moderate expectations for Violet and it exceeded them all. The game is flawed with technical issues but nothing that makes it unplayable. The gameplay itself is the most fun ive had with Pokemon in years. Im sure a big patch is on the horizon to fix issues. But in the meanwhile its still worth every dollar

Marvelous pokèmon game 200% recommend. The graphics are amazing in this game. The pokèmon have such great details and the new gen 9 are also really well made (I recommend the fire starter, it's able to take down most gyms and in it'a final form it's fire and ghost type which is really handy) and not to forget about the environment. Sure the game have some frame drops here and there but I am sure they'll update the game and fix those (not ruining gameplay, just some minor when the game gets too overwhelming for the Switch).

An interesting change to pokemon, but there are still issues whith bugs. Overall, a fun ride but i wish that after all the time since release they could have fixed the bugs.

The game is very fun overall and a lot of the new designs are really cool. I like the open world concept, but the bugs can be really frustrating at times.

I can't in good faith rate this higher. This game is incredibly fun. Game Freak nailed open-world Pokemon on their first try. BUT... This game is plagued by severe technical issues which are inexcusable for a franchise as big as Pokemon. Frame rate drops are common, if not the norm in some areas, and graphical glitches aren't hard to find. Not to mention the occasional crash. If they fixed all the bugs, it would easily be the best game yet.

It's pretty glitchy at times which can take away from the experience but overall a great game with awesome story and world building.

Great game. Really nice bllend of the old polemon games, while combining the free world feel of a lot of new games. Very nostalgic feel, but it provides virtually no challenge.

I’ve been playing Pokémon since Red/Blue as a kid. I’ve played all of them except for Sun/moon. I always enjoy them. If you’ve played a pokemon game you know what you’re going to get. It’s nothing substantial new but there are some improvements and the story is good. I think it’s as good as sword and shield. My favorite was silver/gold because of getting to play both maps.

Bought this from Best Buy a while ago, great servuce as always. This entry has a lot of cool additions like terra types, picnics, and the new additions to the staggering amount pokemon. However, the technical issues and glitches (even to this day) cannot be ignored. You'll still enjoy this if you've played pokemon before, but there is a definate dip in quality compared to previous games.

This game is great and well worth getting. The only reason its not 5 stars is the glitches and issues in the game. Raid problems online are constant. Game software randomly closes. Evolution issues of pokemon not evolving when they are suppose too. Character or npc getting stuck in mountains or other environment. When the game is working its a blast. Alot to do. This is the lungest I have ever played a pokemon game and I love the new style.

Fantastic pokemon game! It does have quite a few bugs that some people may feel is game breaking or ruins the immersion. I didn't come across too many of these in my 1000+ hrs in the game.

The story is a refeshing change from previous generations and you can explore the open areas for hours on end. However, the game is incredibly glitchy, especially in raids, and often crashes. It can be quite frustrating and offen causes me to simply stop playing.

I bought this game some years ago, and the story is pretty good. I just wished that there wasn't so much lag especially when you enter bodies of water. There also is some lag when you go to a grass field in the DLC, but other than that, it's a fun game especially when you shiny hunt and battle online.

Its a fun game, as most other Pokemon games are. Unfortunately, this one has some pretty noticable perfomance issues, such as the camera being stuck underground during certain moments like encounters. It also has a lot of frame rate issues, which make the game look like a stop motion video. That said, it's still recommended and enjoyable. A lot of freedom and things to do.

At this point in time, the game has too many glitches and bugs that it makes it really difficult to enjoy at times. The story arch has potential to be great, but is hard to navigate with the software glitches. Open world concept is neat at times, but needs an update from Nintendo to clean up some of the issues.
