Great Tool for Self-Awareness and Motivation

Recently traded in my Nike +. I have had Garmin Forerunners, Timex and other devices. This is the best yet. Very accurate, easy to read and navigate through menus. Fast satellite acquisition (less than 60 seconds). Have used for running, walking and indoor activities like Insanity and weight training. Polar Flow site offers a lot of data and metrics to keep you motivated. My background is in exercise science/physiology so maybe I just like the nerdy data streams, but it is helpful. Also got the HR strap but not needed. You can still get alot out of the watch. Great investment. But like anything fitness, it only works if you do. Only cons I can see at this time: No Android support as of 12/28 but website states it is in the works and expected within weeks. Can still see data at polar.flow site. Stiff strap. I am afraid I will break/tear the rubber strap. I am sure it will loosen over time however. Pros: fast connections, excellent battery life (9 hours with GPS, 28 days without), fast charging, easy to read display and backlight, tons of useful and motivating data. Still valuable without Android app and HR monitor. Also has a 2 year warranty.

Excellent Polar activity monitor and GPS watch

I bought this watch after extensive research. I already have a Polar FT7 and both watchs have the bottoms with the same layout, also the navigation through the menus are very similar, in other words very intuitive for Polar users. I use it most of the time indoors but I liked a heartbeat monitor with GPS so I don't over run outdoors. This watch works perfect on both environments. Also sync with my third party bluetooth beat (OTBeat). Very accurate heart Monitor (chest monitor) 3dt party or Polar H7 Pretty accurate GPS The step counter has some misscount but acceptable. In a future software upgrade will support phone notification (based on Polar website), Let's see... So far Very pleased with the product.

    Small Wrist Beware

I absolutely love this watch except that it is excessively large on my smaller wrist. If you are afraid this might apply to you learn from my mistake and ask to try it on first. The pink device is the only one with the shorter band and it is not sold in stores or without the HR monitor.

I use this to trIn for my first 5k, 10k, half marathon. Easy to use with the chest strap. Good info on iphoneap to track activities, I like the reminder it sends when I have been sitting for more than an hour. This is my first andonlyactivity tracker and heart rate monitor. I likethat it has the gps. I haveneverused it swimming, I used it kayaking, proven to be waterproof. I just wished it had lcd colored touch screen.

Good watch. Would like better GPS accuracy.

I got this watch after my trusty but old Garmin Forerunner 305 died just before Grandma's Marathon. The M400 worked pretty well for the race, although the total distance showed 26.67 miles, and I know I took the shortest distance through the corners. The Forerunner 305 was consistently off by about 1% on measured courses, and it looks like the M400 is off by at least that much. Why don't GPS watch manufacturers give users the ability to calibrate the distance measurement based on consistent differences between GPS distance and measured distance? That seems like it would be a fairly straightforward software feature to add. Is it just because they also want to sell us foot pods? I really liked the finish time predictor, but it was almost 4 minutes off because of the accuracy issue. The watch will allow me to adjust for a custom distance longer than the race distance, but that won't fix the pace accuracy. Other than the accuracy issue I really like the watch.

Polar M400 Watch and H7 HRM with chest strap M400 Watch - easy to use and setup (paired immediately with H7 HRM) - great battery life for multiple "daily" GPS tracked walks and long bike rides - I'd say approximately 2 weeks between watch charges, charging is a great opportunity to connect to your Polar Flow PC app and check for any updates - love the daily activity tracker, helps me keep my fitness goals on my mind - Inactivity alarm (stamp) can be annoying while watching a 1 hour+ movie or long car rides - watch band is comfortable and durable to wear 24/7 - wear it at night and the watch will monitor how long and how well you slept H7 HRM - easy to pair with M400 and Gym Bikes for regular spin classes - battery lasted approximately 5 months with multiple "daily" GPS tracked walks and long bike rides Polar Flow App for Android (Droid HD Razr) - Great app, very reliable, easy way to upload all training sessions to Polar Flow Web - Track mood for the day and weight - Has a daily, weekly and monthly graphic view - Love how I can see my weekly mileage I bike 10-15 miles almost daily with longer 20 miles rides on the weekend

This watch is really good, the bluetooth works really good with IOS and together with app, I bought this to do my races (10k, half marathon and marathon) but after 5 moths using it the USB cable is no longer charging it, seems to have oxidized the connector.

I have tried various activity trackers in my efforts to stay fit and motivated and Polar M400 excels. Find the instant feedback on activity, long battery life, gps capabilities, and waterproof exactly what needed. Highly recommended.

    Stopped working after two months.

After using the Polar FT60 model for many years, I was excited to upgrade to a watch that would track both my heart rate during work outs as well as my daily activity. My excitement was short lived when the heart rate sensor/strap stopped communicating with the watch in less than two months of using this product. I will see how well this issue is resolved with customer service. Extremely dissatisfied.

2nd one, first one could not update and sync went to best buy and they were amazing with understanding and helping me. product is defective. the first one that i purchase synced the first day after that the port in the back slowly went bad after about 6 times of updating it over 4 months it failed to sync all together, went to best buy and they were nice enough to replace it, now the second one same thing is happening, polar is of zero help, customer service does not exist. i would highly recommend anything that does not require port on the backside of the watch, poor design.

Won't connect to heart rate strap

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I've had this about a year and am just totally fed up. From the beginning, connecting to the heart rate strap was spotty. Playing around, I found that if I deleted the paired device and re-connected, it would work. Not exactly convenient. It gets worse... After a while, even this would only work occasionally, as the strap often cannot be detected by the watch. Is it the strap? Well... I actually have two straps. The same thing happens with both. I currently have fresh batteries in both straps. Both straps will connect to all sorts of exercise equipment. The watch can't detect them. If you read on the web... you'll find lots of other people who have encountered similar problems and who have a host of routines that sometimes make it work for a period. Just awful.

Good watch, however it take too much time to sincronize with the gps. Sometimes more than 10 min.
