I own several Polaroid cameras, both old and new, including a Z2300 which uses the same Zink paper the Snap uses. I bought the Snap so that anyone could pick it up and use it - it is a simple camera. You must know how to use a viewfinder as it does not have a LCD screen. Every camera used to have a viewfinder, but if you've never used a camera viewfinder you're gonna need to practice. with the Snap. Get the micro SD card, install it, and shoot several exposures without putting Zink paper in the camera. Then check your results by downloading the saved images to your computer. Once you get comfortable with the viewfinder, put some Zink paper in and shoot away. Oh - the camera does not come with Zink paper nor an SD card so be sure to get those when purchasing the camera. Know that the pictures are not large. Know that this is a fun camera and not a professional model. Know that the directions are online and not included with the camera. Know that there is a software update that you might have to install and that there may be more update installs in the future. (these help your camera to work better). I am very critical of pictures and I am giving this camera a "B+" grade. If you practice, you'll get good results and be able to tell others how to hold it when they use the camera. It's simple and the results are fun. Don't complain about the cost of the Zink paper. If you were to take digital pictures and print them out at home you'd be spending just as much - if not more - for the photo paper and the printer's ink cartridges. Like I said - practice with out the paper in the camera and check out your shots on your computer. So get this camera. Get Zink paper and an SD card. Charge up the camera and start enjoying the world of Polaroid.

    Broke right away

I bought this camera, and a bunch of film, in December to take on a month long trip to Africa that week, I took two pictures before I left, it worked fine. In Africa I took four shots, the camera stopped working, wouldn't shut off, so I had to leave it running to drain the battery. I powered up the camera again and took four more pictures, once again the camera broke. When I returned home Polaroid tech and supervisors told me that there were a batch of Snap cameras that went out with out the needed upgrades and mine use one of them. I was told I'd have to go get a micro film chip to upgrade my camera to make it work. I suggested to Polaroid that since I bought the camera in good faith that it worked, doesn't it make sense for them to send me the chip? I was told that no chip came with the camera I bought and that it was up to me to go out and get one, but they'd send me some film, I have film, a lot of it. It's not that I can't drive a half an hour away to Target to get the needed chip or have Amazon send me one, as the supervisor suggested, it's the fact that I bought a new camera, I expected it to work, I carried it around the world for a month in hopes of giving out pictures to people who don't have access to printed pictures and Polaroid didn't have the curtesy to stand behind their product and say...let us fix this for you, we'll send you a micro chip to upgrade your camera. I will buy the chip that I was told I need, so I can see if that fixes this camera, but I sure can't recommend anyone buy anything from Polaroid, especially this Snap camera.

    Poorly Designed

This should be a fun product but is poorly designed. 1. the viewfinder is horrible. Extremely hard to know if you have the thing your trying to photograph correctly lined up in the centre of the photo or not. 2. the colour changing button is in the wrong place. Just where you want to hold the camera so you end up pressing it by mistake or holding the camera awkwardly. 3. there are no instructions and those you get online are horrible, very hard to work out how to change from one photo to several per print. 4. the flash is too small and weak so poor colour reproduction inside. 5. no idea of how many prints are left. 6. I have found on my camera the colour reproduction is very poor. I do love the fact that the pictures can be stuck on things and that is cool and I love the instant nature of it but a big improvement in design needs to happen. Wish I had spent more and gone for the one with the digital screen that I could see the pictures before printing and thus saved money by not printing the images that were not lined up properly. Don't bother with this camera, even for fun. spend a bit more and get one you can review the pictures before printing.

Hopefully my opinion will change once I have a properly functioning unit, but for now I am very disappointed in this Polaroid product. Even after reading reviews, downloading manuals and Firmware updates and watching YouTube videos, I can not get my camera to work correctly. The few pictures that did make their way out of the camera were very poor quality, nothing like the pics that are displayed on advertising media. I keep getting all flashing red lights on the back of the camera, and no picture or film comes out. I will be returning this item for replacement, hoping that this is a defective unit. Buyers should be advised that there are NO real instructions in the box with the camera, so you need to go to the website to download and read the manual to know what all the lights mean, how to properly load the paper, and how the features like photo color and border options work. All that was in the box I purchased was a card with a few pictures. When trying to download Firmware updates and following the instructions, the file is unable to be unzipped as the file extension is not recognized. This was also frustrating. As someone who grew up with the original Polaroid cameras, I was expecting a much better product and product support. I would be willing to revise my review if a new camera actually works, but the lack of instructions should be noted by potential buyers. That being said, the online manual, once you find it, is informative, as well as the nice folks on YouTube that bothered to help out confused consumers like myself!

Used for the guest book at daughter's wedding. The guests enjoyed using but it was very difficult to manage. The bride and groom liked having the pictures, but this gizmo is just NOT realistic. The battery in the camera was completely charged and died after 7 pictures. Anticipating this problem, we had a portable phone charger which we had to keep attached to the camera because the camera just wouldn't charge off the portable. The film packs can only take 10 pictures. So someone had to be with it virtually the entire time to deal with that. The buttons on top of the camera are very confusing AND much too close together - people kept turning off the color or flash and even WORSE would push the timer - which is RIGHT next to the shutter. They would think they'd done something wrong, and lower the camera just as the timer went off providing a picture of the wall, or their shoes or the table. It was a fun idea, but I do not recommend and it is not easy to manage. The pictures did process in about a minute, so that was good. If you want a camera that will take 6-8, two by three inch relatively dark and mediocre pictures on a charge, this is for you.

I bought this camera (at a different store) to take pictures of Trick of Treaters at a outside display on Halloween night 2016. Because the Polaroid film was half the cost of the 'other' instant film, we went with it. It comes with no instructions except a little card with a couple of images of how to load the film. The trial run of the first pack of film went fine. The blue 'starter' card printed and we then printed 10 pictures. . However, when we began to take actual pictures with our display, the blue card printed out and then only one picture would print out. I had to reload the blue card for each and every picture.that we took. Extremely time consuming to wait for the blue card to print each time and then the actual picture. Many people left without getting their picture taken or collecting their complimentary mini-print. The only saving grace was that it captures the pictures digitally on an sd card (not included), so we were able to post the pictures on Facebook for them to download. Based on my one experience, I do not recommend this camera.

First of all, Let me start of saying that I was happy and excited to get this camera, and looked forward to taking shots with it, Unfortunately, it turned out to be the worst camera I have ever bought! One, I used the usb cord that came with it and hooked it up to the camera, which was hard to stick in, and take out! I had to wiggle the wire to get it to come out of the camera when I wanted to unplug it! That shouldn't be! When I hooked the camera to my Lenovo laptop computer it said DRIVE UNAVAILABLE! WHAT???? I checked all drives did updates but everything was up to date! I called polaroid support and they couldn't help just said check firmware?? I can't even view my pictures or know if the shot was taken of my dog. It was just horrible! Don't buy this! Customer Service sucks of the Polaroid Company and do not help!!! So go buy a better camera!!! Honestly, I bought a different camera and am much happier with it the Polaroid One Step 2!! Only one was in stock left at the store and I bought it, and love it! But I won't be contacting Polaroid for help I will just ask online and watch YouTube videos because they are way helpful than the company!

My 11 year old daughter loves this camera even though she goes through 20 pictures in a day every time she gets more zinks. Zinks are the print outs that use zero ink, but cost as much as 50 times as many photos from an inkjet printer. This version has an optical viewer and no digital viewer so you cannot see the pictures until you transfer them from the micro sd card after you run out of zinks. This is not unlike what we had to do with the film cameras we had 25 years ago. The optical viewer does not frame the pictures very accurately. None of these drawbacks dampened my daughters enjoyment and she feels like she is a professional photographer now so I recommend this for 9-12 year olds. I would upgrade to the digital viewfinder if the price is not a concern.

Upon the reviews of many polaroids i thought this one would be the best... but its not all that great. The color quality is super grainy and not accurate when it prints. Know that if there is not good lighting you will not have a good picture and the flash is automatic so you cant turn it on. I had seen other colors I know its supposed to print and look vintage but other cameras nail it and this one not at all. Black and white will pretty much be almost gray in dominance, the color is too much saturation and reds, the greens and yellows is pretty much a yellow hue dominance. Not a balance really. Second there wasn’t a color variety in store pretty much only the white one was available. Third last but not list doesn’t include film and film itself is expensive. You will go thru a box of 100 in like a day depending and 50% of those will not come out as you expect them.

I shouldn’t have purchased this. I wanted the Fuji instant camera and Best Buy was sold out (clearly for a reason), so I purchased this (which costs more). It strives to have more capabilities like able to take a micro sd and different color filters but they don’t make up for the picture quality. Although the look of the picture is going for vintage, The tones are very dark and unpredictable when the flash will activate. It does have a timer which came in handy a few times. Selecting the border option on the camera is pretty sucky because your actual picture gets smaller on an already small photo paper along with the border not looking very authentic. I just use it during my birthday party and created a collage which came out to be pretty cool, but I prefer the Fiji instant print cameras much more.

I bought this camera for my 12 year old daughter. I also considered the Fuji Instax Mini 8 camera but went with the Polaroid because it also works as a digital camera. It works pretty good for creating the instant pictures. You shoot the picture and hit the print button and they print out fairly rapidly. I really wish it had a preview screen so you see what you shot and what you want to print and so you could also navigate through your digital photos. It does not have this so its use as a digital camera is not well designed. There is a slot for the mini SD on the side but it does not hold the SD very well and feels like it's going to fall out. In other words, I would not buy this camera as a digital camera. It works fine for instant pictures but then you have to compare the value of spending the $30 over the price of the Fuji camera.

This is quite an amazing little camera, it takes great pictures, which are about 10 megapixels when saved to the optional sd card. The pictures that come out of the printer are actually 5 or so mp, but they look great and a lot more clear than you'd expect, albeit a bit washed out, but that's the point of this camera, to give the Polaroid look to the images that print. The viewfinder is a bit odd to look through because it does look a bit fuzzy. All in all, as long as you know what this camera is for and what you'll get from the prints, I'd say buy it. If you're looking for an instant print camera with extremem clarity, well I don't know what go tell you.

I bought this camera because it seemed like a great thing for parties and get-togethers. The idea of printing out little pictures and giving them out seemed like a fun thing to do. It uses a fascinating technology that prints out tiny pictures using only the color in the paper. Unfortunately, unless there is a lot of light and the camera is very close to the subject, the pictures are seldom good, usually too dark and often blurry. Ironically the digital pictures that can be downloaded from the camera to a computer are better, but that defeats the purpose of an instant print camera, and we all have better cameras on our phones that take better downloadable pictures. After a dozen or so bad pictures, I returned it and Best Buy refunded my money it with no questions asked.

The camera looks super cute and takes awesome polaroid pictures. It is exactly what I wanted. There is also a special feature that made me choose the polaroid one over the fuji camera: you are able to save the pictures on a memory card! So you can keep on taking pictures even when you run out of the special paper. The only thing why it has 4 and not 5 stars is that it would be nice to see the picture on a screen first before printing. It does print the picture right away so you never know beforehand if it is a nice picture or not. But I am guessing that is a feature which would make the camera way more expensive. So definitely a great camera for the occasional fun vacation or party picture.

I purchased this camera for my sons first birthday. My plan was take pics at the party and hang on a cute display as party was going. The camera turns on when you pop up the viewfinder. I hung the camera on my wrist (strap included) and the viewfinder kept popping up I can see this a future potential problem with battery draining when your not using it. I only took three photos and knew I hated the camera. Photos were off centered (maybe I got a bad one). The quality of film isn't great and because they are mini photos it's like printing wallet size from a regular camera. Wish it was more like classic Polaroid with white frame. This is classic not reading about the camera before purchasing! I returned the camera.

I am not technically challenged and even after downloading manual and reading online I cannot take a picture with this camera. When you hit the buttons to snap a pic it either causes shutter in image or delays the time of actual photo or just does nothing. I have the film the camera and cord in box bringing back to return. I even sent email for online support through app and that was useless never got help with camera that i needed. Wasted $100 on camera plus the film 60 pack...Not worth buying at all! I had the old school Kodak Polaroid that I recently dropped and broke so figured I would buy this new version that looked great & had app as well. Bad decision!

Got this for my 9 year old a few weeks after she started a photography class. She loved it & burned through about 30 pics in an hour. Then she got frustrated because she noticed a lot weren't of what she was "aiming" at. So I tried it & it took a few tries to figure out how to get just what I wanted. The viewer is just a thin plastic piece that pops up so it's a matter of practicing & wasting a lot of paper until you get it down. Also wish the magnetic cover has a strap the keeps it connected to the camera. Otherwise, it seems durable, looks cool, is fun and brings me back to my childhood. My daughter now wishes she would've opted for a digital.

Listen, this is what it is. It is a small fun "instant camera." We purchased it for our daughter's birthday and used it at her party and gave the pictures as part of the goodie bag. The children and parents were all happy with the idea. The pictures are really good, not great, but plenty good enough for a fun little camera. You may want to take a few practice shots before you try anything you really want to keep because what you see in the viewfinder isn't EXACTLY what you get on the paper. However, the pictures are stickers! What more could a 6 year old girl ask for? LOL If you buy the paper in the bulk package it isn't bad at all.

Instant Cameras have made a comeback into the market a ling time. this one is really good product and compared to the Instax Mini that you can get for $60, this one is quite better in design. The only problem with the instant camera's is that they are not very good in capturing pictures if there is not enough light and the flash range is less, so you have to be in a proper range, otherwise the pictures come a little dark. You will have to try this a couple of times to get a hold of capturing with good lighting. Overall its a very nice product if you are too excited taking and sharing printed pictures right at the moment.

So I was looking at this one and the Fujufilm. What I like about this one is that the photos save digitally on the memory card as well as printing. The size of the camera is also really nice because I can keep it anywhere like my purse, back pack, or even back pocket. The color filter is a nice thing on it, too. The 3 color modes are black and white, sepia, and color. Also I tend to forget that the lens cap is on, but the camera won't take the picture unless the cap is off, so that has saved me a ton of paper! I'd say this camera is good for anyone that likes to take pictures, especially since the paper refill is cheap.
