You still have to position yourself as best as you can to avoid direct sunlight but it doesn't cast a shadow or anything on your screen

You will need this if you're using your phone as the screen. I have an iphone 7 and it is just not bright enough when you're outside in the bright sun. It helps you see better.

Snug easy fit...used a Samsung E Lite 7...makes a world of difference for all times of day flight. Too bright...covered..to dark for dusk...keeps the ambient light of the tablet in...no shadows...no complaints. If you don't have this...you shouldn't be flying..
