Once hooked up properly, sounds good

Bought the Sub 10 along with 2 Sat30 satellites. Hooked up all speakers per instructions and the sound was terrible. Called Polk tech support and found out there is a wiring snafu with some of the Sub 10's. Tech support guided me through a wiring trouble shooting process and got the speakers to sound good, but not great. The Sub 10 has 4 color coded wires; red, black, green, and white. As tech support was guiding me through the wiring trouble shoot, we had just 2 wires hooked up to the Sub 10 and the sound was great. Woo Hoo! I said, but tech support said wait, we have to hook up the other 2 wires, so we did, but now the sound quality deteriorated. Also, when I input my iPod to play music, it caused not one, but 2 different receivers to trigger their internal safety shut down operation. So I tried turning the iPod volume down and turning the receiver back on. I got sound at low volume, but when I turned the volume up, the receivers shut down again. So I disconnected the last 2 Sub 10 wires that we hooked up and that seems to have fixed the problem. The system sounds great now.
