I've been impressed with this mini speaker so far. It is very loud, louder than my phone speakers, and clear when it is loud. The bass from this tiny speaker is not the best, but I was not expecting it to be due to the size. The portability is fantastic. We've already used the speaker several times outside when we've wanted to listen to music and I see this getting a lot of use at the pool and beach this summer. Straight out of the box, the battery life has been excellent. We've already listened to the speaker around the 3 hour rating time and still haven't charged it. I would recommend this to anyone looking louder than phone sound with no bulk.

    Neat Little Speaker

I like this little speaker and I think you will too as long as you know what you're getting it for. It's very small - I'd say about the size of a Zippo lighter. It's made of all rubber and hard plastic. There's a cap on the bottom that covers the built-in USB connector that is used to charge it. There's only two buttons as well as well - volume up and volume down; all other functions are handled through some combination press/hold of the two. Though I haven't dropped it yet, it feels like it could take a few hits to the pavement and be just fine. There's a clip built into the back of it that feels strong and flexible. That combined with the small size meant I was able to clip it pretty much anywhere (shirt collar, pants pocket, etc.) and never had to worry about it falling off. It seems pretty well sealed up, but I don't think it's water-resistant and I wonder how it might hold up if you were to drop it in the dirt or sand. The sound is pretty good. I'd call it a step in quality and loudness from any built-in phone speaker, but it's not as good as the sound you'd get from a regular-sized Bluetooth speaker. It's great for what it is considering the size. It gets loud enough for quiet rooms. I listened to it in my car with all the windows rolled up and ended up cranking the volume to the max to hear it though. There's a little bit of distortion at max volume, but not a lot. The battery life is quoted at 3 hours at 'just over half volume' and that seems about right. Most of my listening was at or near max volume and it seemed like I was driving closer to 2 hours. Having the USB connector built in is nice because you don't have to carry an extra cable around with you to charge it, but the speaker is big enough that if you are charging it on a slim laptop or a USB port in a car that's buried in the console it could pose a problem. The battery life is a disappointing to me - it will basically get you through a commute or a short to medium hike, but I would be plugging it into a charger after each use. Again, considering the size I don't think it's terrible, but I do wish it was better. Overall I think this is a value as long as you know what you need it for. The packaging of the Polk Bit shows people running, climbing, biking, etc. It definitely feels like a fitness-oriented product and I see it's main use case being in places where using normal ear buds or headphones is not appropriate/safe. I could especially see this being useful for someone who rides their bike a lot.

I like listening to music when out in the yard but don't like headphones because they isolate all noise. I also like listening to music when riding bicycles and I think everyone knows that can be dangerous. So this little speaker seemed like a great idea. It is compact and the spring clip is strong, I've attached it to shirts and backpack straps and I've never once been concerned about losing it. The sound is surprisingly loud for the user. I've not asked anyone around me how loud it is, but it doesn't seem to be too invasive (like a larger speaker) but it is plenty loud for personal use. I've listened to audio books and podcasts and music and they all sound great. I also love that I have one less cable to worry about because you can plug this directly into a USB slot to charge (the cap comes off). I use a multi USB charger and the speaker isn't so big as to block off the other USB ports (like when you have a surge protector and one of the big charger bricks blocks other ports). The biggest complaint is battery life. It really only lasts me about 2 hours even though it's rated for 3. So you need to keep it charged at all times after use. For my workout BT headphones I just charge them and know that I can use them for several workouts throughout the week without problems but that's not the case with the speaker. I charge it after each use. The other minor issue are the lack of buttons. It's nice that it's simple and there's less buttons, but with only a plus and minus for the volume you have to remember a new set of commands. It hasn't been a big deal because I normally change songs through my phone and I typically have it on full blast, but if you're riding your bike and your phone is in your bag you have to remember to press the plus button 3 times. It becomes muscle memory but it was a bit tricky at first. And that minor complaint is no reason not to get it. For only $30 it's a worthwhile investment even if you only use it a few times. I found it more useful than I initially thought. Clipping a small speaker onto your shirt collar and having podcasts on while cleaning the house (when my son is taking a nap especially) is nice.

This device looks like a throwback to days of pagers, but it works surprisingly well for its primary purpose. The speaker/audio quality is underwhelming when used for mobile phone conversations. But it makes up for it as a personal speaker. The sound quality is better than average and the volume range is better than expected. The set-up is easy. Paired it with my phone in less than 30 seconds. Battery life is also good, I charged it in the evening after using for several hours during the day.

I love this little speaker! First off, the speaker is the perfect size for working outdoors and athletic activities which are two of the most important areas for me. I use this for weeding flower beds, walking, working in the basement, and while doing mechanic work. The size is perfect for clipping on your belt, shirt, or pants pocket. The sound quality for its size is quite good. Battery life is pretty decent as well. The call features are handy but I seldom use them. I honestly have no complaints with this little speaker. I love it and use it all the time. Thanks for the innovative and very useful speaker Polk!

It's a cool idea, really. A small speaker that you can use while jogging or bike riding, allowing you to hear traffic noises and ambient sounds around you better than using headphones or earbuds. The clip is really strong, I clip it on my shirt collar and listen to my music without worry it will fall off. It's about the size of my Ford's key fob, it connected instantly to my smartphone, and away I went. The sound is good, you won't mistake it for a Bose speaker but for its size its fine and the volume can be turned up surprisingly loud. You remove the rubber cap when you come home and connect it to a USB port. When the little LED turns blue, you're all charged up. In fact the biggest problem I had with the speaker is just getting out of that hard clear plastic bubble packaging that it comes in. If you can get it out without slicing off a finger you'll be very happy with this tiny portable speaker.

I have had 3 days of use with this speaker and first of all be careful when opening the package or you will shred the quick start manual which is all you really need since it's pretty straight forward with the directions and very simple to use. I had no problems getting it to sinc to my Samsung galaxy s6+ and once that was done I turned the volume all the way up and like other review's I've seen about this boom speaker it just wasn't very loud so after about 30 minutes of it playing I realized that I should check the app I was using to play music and yep there it was! Samsung app will only let it go so loud so you can't damage your hearing. Anyway after turning the sound up in the app, this little sucker cranks pretty loud! Much louder than I needed it to be so I just started using the app to adjust how loud I wanted which it's probably faster adjusting the sound on the speaker but it's better in fine tuning the loudness by using the app. Next thing is how it sounds which was surprising to both my wife and I, it really does sound decent for the size if it, just don't expect much bass or it to sound like a high dollar stereo system or you will be very disappointed. This is probably the best personal speaker I've ever seen or used in a small Bluetooth speaker that replaces a headset or earphones. If you have to have bass and hi fidelity sound then stick with the headset or earphones! The last thing I wanted to talk about is of course is it's biggest downfall which like other review's have said, is the battery life or I should say lack of life. The first time I charged it right out of the package and it was fully charged in less than a half hour which I thought was fantastic. I also realized that electronics leave the factory with a pretty good amount of charge in them anymore so I was really waiting to judge the times after I ran it dead. Back to the runtime which it's supposed to last up to 3 hours and the only way that will happen is if you have really good hearing and at 51 mine isn't anywhere near as good as they want for me to get 3 hours of listening in! So I had the speaker up all the way and had it running at around 2/3 volume on the app which is still pretty loud and I got an hour and 45 minutes out of it before it died the first time and thats about the average runtime so far for me and I've been using this everyday while working around the house and even listened to it while in the shower and can still hear it fine. Back to charging now, the second time is what you can expect as far as charge time and it took 2 hours and 45 minutes to charge from being completely dead. The average charge time since has been 2 and 1/2 hours but I am not completely draining the battery now, I use it for about an hour and a half and then charge it which is long enough to mow and do some other things around the house. I love not having earphones yanked out of my ears while mowing which is one of the positives for this speaker. I really think this is an OK Bluetooth Speaker, it never has disconnected from my phone and I've left the phone at 1 end of the house and walked all around the house and it never stopped playing which is awesome and expected at the same time. Playing music on it sounds pretty good and it play's louder than I believe anyone will really needs, which brings me to it's downfall which is runtime, for me I believe it lasts long enough for my needs but that hour and a half probably won't cut it for you or others out there. In conclusion, I'm really not sure if this speaker is worth the $29.99 they charge for this. My wife says there is no way she would buy it for that price and I doubt very seriously that I would either! They would have to cut the price in half before I would even think about it since I can buy some annoying earphones for 3 bucks and they work and never run out of juice! In full disclosure I received this item in exchange for my honest review and am not paid in any way to give a favorable review for any products I review and I hope my review's help a few a you to decide on whether or not to purchase this item.

I got about 2.75 hours of music playing out of this on the first charge. Pretty good. It turns on right in pair mode, so it doesn't take long to get it setup. The sound gets fairly loud and stays fairly clear for such a small device. If you have it clipped onto your collar in a fairly normal sound environment, you will not have to have it at full volume to hear the music clearly. I took a couple phone calls on this while I was testing it and it worked well enough, but I wouldn't consider this its strength. Only has the two buttons on it (+ and -), which you use in different combinations of pressing or holding for different lengths of time for the functions. For instance, you have to hold the + key for about 2 seconds to answer an actively incoming phone call, which is the main reason why I wouldn't consider it as a primary handsfree device.

Got this little speaker and it's just a bit bigger than a bite size Snicker's. It only has two buttons, a + and a -. Everything is done with these two buttons. I had to get the manual, which is the size of a quarter and figure out the controls. You hold both buttons down (the manual says 2 seconds) don't let go, you'll hear a bonk, but it takes a bit longer than the 2 seconds IMHO. Once you figure out how to turn it on, it pairs automatically. I paired it with my Pixel and started an audio book. It paired seamlessly and for such a small speaker, the audio was very good. I'll have to try it with music, but for me, I use it for audio books and it will fill the bill nicely. The clip seems rather sturdy and I charged it with my Nook 110v adapter. If you're looking for a speaker other than ear buds, this is a pretty cool alternative.

I didn't have high hopes for this when I first saw it and opened the package, but I was pleasantly surprised at the sound quality and volume it can reach. The instructions for pairing, volume and track control are really straightforward and purposefully simplified given the size and space constraints for physical buttons. I haven't tried actually clipping it to my clothing yet, but I imagine it could easily be used on walks, bike rides or just hanging out when you want something louder than your device's speakers but don't want to wear headphones.

Nice sound from a small speaker. It's not very loud but if you keep it near your head like on your shirt pocket it's loud enough. Good for runners or active people who don't want to use headphones all the time. The buttons on mine are a little tough to push at the same time but not too bad. Battery life not great but just ok. Don't expect a lot of bass from such a small speaker but better than my phone.

The Polk Bit portable speaker is designed to play music while clipped to your clothing. It easily pairs with your phone or other bluetooth device by holding the volume up and down buttons at the same time. It has a cap on one end that exposes a USB plug that you can plug directly into a computer or charger which is way more convenient than having to have an extra cord. As far as the functionality goes, it's very impressive. It's light enough and the clip is strong enough that I was comfortable clipping it to even the thinnest of fabric like a t-shirt and have it stay there while jogging. It's perfect for people (like me) who have never found an earbud that will stay in their ear while exercising. Why even bother with this instead of using the speaker on your phone? Well, this is so light you won't even notice it's there, unlike a phone which bounces around in your pocket or needs to be strapped to your arm with a band. I really enjoyed having it paired with an Apple Watch loaded with songs.. Then I have music without having to carry my phone with me at all! Another plus is it does have a microphone so that you can take calls. While the Bit can definitely get louder than most phone speakers, its not going to blow you away with superb sound. You can't have both portability and thumping bass. However, for as light as it is it's a good compromise between the two.
