Exactly what we needed at the time. Walked in just looking and thinking of a Samsung then talking to the sales rep and him showing us several systems, pairs his phone with this one and the sound quality was impressive. It had a good price on it since it was on sale and I was even more impressed when I brought it home and connected to the tv. Pairing is fairly simple and works good with phones and tablets. I love the voice recognition and a separate volume just for that. Down side is the voice volume for me is always up all the way and at times I wish it could get it a tick louder for the voice volume. On the bright side voices in movies and tv shows are a lot clearer then other sound bars we listened to. Plenty of bass from the sub and separate volume as well so you can turn it down for late night movies or shows(if you have neighbors to worry about). All and all I haven't had any problems with it.

I am no audiophile, so I do not claim to have a great ear or know a ton about these products. What I can say is this system has proven nice for my family and our needs. As one would expect, it is a dramatic improvement over our television's standard speakers. What I like most about this unit is the ability to raise the volume by individual channel. This allows us to up the volume on dialogue without raising all the background noise as well. It has helped for movies or shows where simply raising the volume only let's my neighbors know what I am watching but doesn't help me here the dialogue any more clearly. I did previously have a 5.1 based system and it sounded better at times, but for the money I think this is a nice little system.

The sound definitely improved with this sound bar. The difficulty is we have an error message for 10 seconds every time we use the Directv remote that states using external speakers. In addition a few times a week you need to use the original remote to get the sound to work. It like looses its brains. I have tried repeatedly to program the mute on the Directv remote but only the volume up and down will work.

I've never owned a sound bar before I have looked online at Samsung ones but I believe Polk is a better brand for audio. It is a little pricey but again I never had another cheaper or more expensive sound bar so I can't compare. The Bluetooth is great, I've been using it mostly with pandora on my phone while working on my house. Sound is crisp, I'd recommend it and may buy another one for a second tv in my house.

Polk is known for its quality speakers and these do not disappoint. I was looking to enhance my gaming experience and this was a nice installment without having to spend a fortune on a full surround sound setup. The sub is what surprised me the most. It sounds terrific and really brings the entertainment to life.

Trusted name. Sounds great. Like he voice enhancemanet. Only minor downfall is remote is tricky to figure out what characteristic you are controlling unless you specifically look closely at button on small remote. Didn’t get too loud but was fine for usual listening levels.

We searched for sound bars for a while. Tested out some really expensive high quality ones, but didn't like the idea of spending that much money when all we wanted was a better sound experience without necessarily blowing you out of the room. This sound bar is just what we wanted!!! Love it =).

Easy setup and install, don't forget to purchase the needed brackets when adding to a wall mount unit. I have had absolutely NO issues with connectivity, as some of the reviews stated. For over 20 years I have been brand loyal to Bose, so happy I stepped "outside the box" on this one. Great sound and a fantastic value = WIN, WIN!!!

Easy to set up. Sound is really good. Nice bass. My only complaint is the volume control goes up and down in larger increments than normal. The remote is little, but you can sync your other remotes to the soundbar so you only end up needing one remote.

recently I had been going back and forth about what sound bar to get for the tv room. I started with other brands and ended up going with Polk. I must say I cant be any happier and pleased with the sound and performance of the bar. Clear and precise sound and the wireless subwoofer cranks out major bass. I recommend this to anyone.

I have had a Polk Audio speaker system for a few years now and love the great sound. Needed a sound bar for a second TV and never hesitated to purchase this Polk Audio Sound Bar and Subwoofer. Setup was easy and the sound it produces is great as expected...sound brings your TV and movie night alive.

For the $399 I paid for this soundbar and wireless sub woofer, it sounds amazing. I would say that the biggest plus of this unit is how full range the sound is. The voice control is a must have and the sub woofer puts out heart pounding and driving lows. This blows away the Samsung and Sony in its price point and because of its low profile and voice control, it's also a better unit than the Klipsch at this price point.

I got the Magnifi to avoid using the lackluster speakers in my 32" LED tv in my small bedroom, so I'm using it for general movie watching and 2.1 channel/stereo music playing (screen also doubles as my PC/office screen). Overall this unit is perfect in this space and for these applications. It's a relatively simple piece of equipment and, hence (as it should be), the setup and operation are also simple. The value then comes down to overall performance of the drivers and the sound field features, with which I am very pleased. I had already read that some people are turned off by the relatively unattractive design, but I care much more about value, usability, and sound richness, clarity, and reproducibility--I agree the bar design is underwhelming, but the subwoofer looks pretty decent.
Anyway, back to what's important: there are basically two field options on the Magnifi: "movie" and "music". I like that it only has those two because it seems when field features are simpler and fewer, they tend to sound better than when there are myriad options, especially in the class of non-home theater sound bar applications. Unsurprinigly the two field options are well calibrated in this unit, however the stand-out feature is the independent volume control for voice/speech/solo music. This kind of hardware DSP is how modern electronics really shine and how this bar competes with the others in its class. The voice DSP gives Polk a reason to charge a little higher price, recognizing that many "features" in modern electronics are really just marketing ploys that take advantage of non-tech savvy consumers, but the Magnifi is not one of those. Bottom line is the Magnifi has moving, quality audio output in rich mid-tones, and clears up solo and speech pretty well with the independent voice leveling. Improvements to the unit could be Wi-Fi for extended range/fidelity over the included Bluetooth, and it unfortunately doesn't have HDMI, only optical.
I do highly recommend it for small-to-med rooms given that you get a great movie or music listening experience with easy setup and simple use, and so coupled with ~$275 price tag it's an overall great value that I would go out of my way to say is something rarely seen in plug-and-play electronics. Sidenote--this is also my first piece of equipment from Polk, and I have a smattering of brands in my other equipment (Yamaha, Bose, Energy), mainly because I like to instill different rooms with different sound characters.
I give this a solid rating of 4.5 stars, rounded up to 5.0.

Easy set up . A little disappointed with volume, voice, bass ratio. At low volume the bass and background noises, footsteps etc are too loud no matter how much I fluctuate the voice mode. Background noises overwhelm the voice's. Expecting a little more for the price. My room is small 13x15 and it may work better in a larger room.

I bought the sound bar to deal with audio volume problems with my 3D Blue ray player and Netflix application on my Panasonic Plasma TV. Watching a normal TV broadcast a sound level of 10-15 is sufficient for me to hear adequately. However, before the sound bar if I wanted to watch a DVD / Blue Ray or Netflix the volume had to be at 40-50. With the soundbar I can set the voice clarity to the point that I can hear well at volume 20. Still have to turn it up (but just a little) for the other inputs. But it adds a great theater quality sound to the movies and other shows. I like it!!!!!!!!!!

Set up was straight forward but it did take several tries to get paired to my Lg TV. The sound is definitely superior compared to just the TV, buying it for half price was the deal maker. The only flaw is that occasionally when using the Dish remote the sound will cut out and I will have to press the optical button on the Polk remote to turn the sound back on.
