Customers commend the Omni S6 Portable Wireless Speaker for its excellent sound quality, noting its clear highs and deep lows, and its ease of use and straightforward setup. However, some users express concerns regarding the speaker's app, citing its somewhat cumbersome interface and limited app support. The app's functionality during setup is also a point of potential concern for some customers. Overall, the positive feedback on sound quality outweighs the negative comments about the app.

Good sound, relatively easy

This system sounds better than Sonos, and is relatively easy to use. The app seems to be missing something. It only took a few minutes to figure out, but like more control over the sound, maybe a good mixer would help. This unit must be plugged in, there is a smaller battery version. I liked the sound better, but may get an additional S2 to use if I'm moving around the house a lot.

Great sound for the money... An Authentic Review

I'm not a paid reviewer, nor am I an audiophile... and the sound which these speakers produce, to me, is very good.
I compared Bose, Sonos and Samsung before buying. Bose had good sound with a high price. Sonos has a great user interface, but the sound was tinny to me. Samsung was a first-generation "miss". I was close on the Bose - probably because of the name brand recognition... But then the S6 popped up and sounded just as good with a good interface.
The tricky thing with this unit is the connectivity to your mobile device/music controller when used with other Polk Audio units around the house. Outside of about twenty feet, or around corners, or with any line-of-sight issues you may lose signal. What this means to the typical user (me) is strategically placing my iPhone between rooms so I can have sound across more than one room (I also have an S2 in the kitchen), or resigning myself to staying in one room or playing different tracks in different rooms.... Which is a bummer when the point is having whole-house sound.
Four stars for sound quality. Three and a half stars for everything else. Rounded up - four stars. Hope this helps!

Sounds awesome only complaints are app needs lots of work. It was very hard to get up and running on the network. After 6 trys and reloading the omni app it works. It is dissapointing that it does not support YouTube or sound cloud and Pandora works most of the time.

Great Sounding Speaker, but then POLK is known for their Great Sounding Products. Just wish it had more features in the App. I have another couple of sets of Wireless Speakers in my home, and can set alarms, sleep timers, and other items that are not offered with this App, & Software. Will keep an eye out, and eventually purchase another one to make a Stereo Pair in the room that I placed the Original One in, Not Bad at all, just wish it had more Features.

A great room filling sound from a single speaker. It was easy to add to my existing PlayFi speakers through the Polk app. The new updates to the system have everything running smoothly. I have 8 different PlayFi devices from different manufacturers and they all work together seamlessly. I can turn on and group speakers easily from the app.

We love our Omni S6 portable speakers! One the in the office and one in the dinning room fills the first level of our 2400 square foot house with beautiful, rich, full sound. We had NO problems connecting the speakers to our home wifi network (Verizon FIOS) and they have not dropped off the network in the 2 months we have had them. The price was right, on sale for $175 a speaker, and the sound is incredible. We cannot wait to try them out on the deck this summer. Forget Sonos and Bose, Polk are the wireless speakers you want.

Sounds good and was very easy to setup using the Polk Omni app. Purchased the speaker while on sale - great price ($169). Otherwise, I think the speaker is slightly over priced for what you get. I'm hoping DTS expands their platform to include other speaker options, although the Polk family of speakers sound great.

We love the sound of this speaker. We got it on special of buy two get a free Omni S2 deal and chose this as one of our two we had to buy. Much cheaper than Sonos but still get the same capability. Sound is good in a larger room.

I can tuck it away in the dining room. Sounds great! I am a huge music freak. So I really want something that sounds great without breaking the bank.

This product limits you to certain streaming music providers, but once you give in and subscribe to their preferred services, the sound quality is incredible. Best Bluetooth quality speaker on the market.

The price point doesn't negate the fact that I couldn't use it with Apple Music at the time of purchase.

Buyer Beware

I will admit. These speakers sound better then sonos. But you will be so frustrated by them that you will hardly get to appreciate that sound. The software that these speakers use is DTS playfi, and it is terrible. There is very limited support with apps so you better be ok with just using Pandora all the time. Also all of the polk omni products I have owned constantly remove themselves from the wifi network. I am at a point now that none of my speakers will reconnect to my network after hours and hours of trying. And no, there is no issue with my network. I have a nighthawk router and have a marantz receiver and chromecast audio that do wifi just fine, not to mention streaming from my smart tv. So I am left with hundreds of dollars of useless audio, and hours of wasted time. So frustrating. And be warned.

Probably sounds great

Judging by the bings and bops I kept hearing trying to get it set up, it probably sounds great. I love my Polk headphones. This was a joke on me though. First, I think this is mislabeled as portable. I don't think it is. Even if there is some kind of battery in this thing, it's just a little too big and heavy to really carry around. Second, the set up is a nightmare and it just never worked out. I got it connected to WiFi but then the update wouldn't take. There may be more in depth ways to get it working but after a half hour of trying a few different methods I figure if set up is this bad, maybe this isn't the right one for me. I've set up other WiFi and Bluetooth speakers that were no problem. I worry about the technology/app functionality of this speaker if this is how set up goes.

This is my favorite speaker in the house. Better sound quailty than the Sonos Play 5, and can be had around half the cost. Crystal clear sound, crisp clean highs and hard hitting deep lows. The Play Fi App that controls it is not perfect, but if you know basics about wifi systems and how to operate them, it shouldn't give you any trouble.
There are 2 modes to connect it. Using WPS it will almost certainly drop the signal. When setting up and holding the wifi button down, wait for the second beep after the pause. Perfect connection, no problems at all since taking it off wps mode.

Sound quality is 10/10...times it works properly 0/10.
It'd be less aggravating to lock myself in the car with a hornets nest.
