This film is one of my childhood favorites. Once I saw the best buy exclusive, I had to have it. The 4K transfer was great.

This is a classic movie that really made people believe in the poltergeists. That’s crazy. Loved the movie it’s dark and creepy, surprisingly it’s PG, but overall it’s a crazy movie. The Steelbook is pretty cool

i thought this was a good film, liked the supernatural elements as well as the effects in this film. also the premise of this film as well as the vibe of it.

One of the most beautiful steelbooks I own. The film is really entertaining and still holds up very well 40 years later. You could Spielberg was involved. The tension just builds and builds and I like how there wasn't any wasted time with some antagonist not believing what was happening to the main characters. This 4k release has excellent video and audio quality as well. Loved everything about this, especially JoBeth Williams' character (the free-spirited wife/mother featured on the cover). If you can still find one of these steelbooks, grab it while you can.

A classic with great special features and great artwork design

Whether Tobe Hooper or Steven Spielberg directed is up for debate. So, as for the film itself I think it’s magnificent, but does it hold up for a younger audience? The effects weren’t that great even back in 1982 considering Poltergeist came from the same time period as Wrath of Khan and E.T.. I would point to the example of when they opened the kid’s room door and the record, lamp and action figures go flying around the room. The acting alone though does make up for the slow beginning and the outdated scene of the construction workers harassing the sixteen-year-old daughter. I’m no prude, but it’s hard to watch. I suppose better films would be Amityville Horror, the Entity or Changling, but I really like this film. As for the Steelbook cover, I think this one’s a little lazy. I find myself turning away from the more expensive covers as they don’t hold much appeal for me. The cover for the standard edition isn’t much better, so if price matters, go with that one.

The movie itself is a solid classic. The slow-burn from innocent Spielberg family movie to nightmarish battle against lost souls for the life of a child is done to perfection. The 4k version itself looks fantastic as the HDR and color grading overall provide a deeper impact to some of the more iconic scenes such as the famous "They're here" scene and the finale with the ghost monsters at the bedroom. Unfortunately, while the steelbook itself looks great (love the matte finish), the copy I purchased ended up being damaged. I still have it as Best Buy Online said no stores had a copy anymore and this was the last one when we grabbed it at a BB near us. Knocked off a star for the lacking quality control. Didn't think they'd put a broken product on the shelf

Not all 4k’s are worth paying the full price but this 4k transfer is. If u catch a sale, that’s awesome! But u feel you get your moneys worth with this release. If ur a fan of Poltergeist, this 4k edition will be the one you turn to watch. All the other issued disc can go to your local thrift once u pic this up

Classic horror movie that’s been given the 4K treatment. Poltergeist has a beautiful picture that’s stunning to watch. While there’s no upgraded audio, what’s provided is good. The Best Buy steelbook is fantastic looking and was well packaged for shipping. Thank you Best Buy.

This movie is a true classic. Watched it the night it got to the house! They did an excellent job on this transfer, it looks amazing! The visuals are incredible like it was made yesterday. This movie is an absolute must get for the collection!!

Omg, where do I start!? First off this 4K looks absolutely gorgeous! The fine derails really stand out in this release. This movie still holds up to this day & every penny worth the upgrade on the previous bluray release.
