Kids and I loved this movie! Great adaptation of the Little Mermaid story by Miyazaki! My favorite part is how all the backgrounds look like they are done with colored pencils.

We enjoy watching Miyazaki movies. The animation and stories are over the top. This is one of our faves. Always fun to guess the American actors chosen to do the voices.

This film is similar to The Little Mermaid, but with Japanese culture in mind. Love and childhood spirit are the themes. Not a very good Miyazaki story but the animation is spectacular. Very colorful and vivid and there is even cartoony (Disney) influences, such as how cartoony the characters run or drive the car that adults and children can appreciate. Overall good movie.

I realized I was missing Ponyo from my Studio Ghibli collection and noticed the Blu-ray was on sale at Best Buy! A great buy and even better animated film!

Bought this because it mentioned that it was based on The Little Mermaid story AND it being a Studio Ghibli film, so I figured it couldn't be bad: It was cute! Worth the buy!

You can't go wrong with any of their movies. This one is a family favorite in my house. Also comes with a little booklet with interesting info about the movie.

Studio Ghibli is the best choice of Japanese anime. I’ve been to the place where this anime was inspired in Japan and the scenario is exactly the same.

This movie is entertaining and suitable for kids and adults. I haven't had a chance to watch it since it was in the theaters, but like all Ghibli movies, the English dubbing is very well done.

My girls (6 & 9) love this movie. It's strange, but also cute. Worth a watch if you have kiddos with big imaginations. If they don't, they'll probably get lost.
