works fine. i have a 2 year old laptop with 2 batteries that are almost shot. so i baught this backup battery to charge my laptop when it gets low and i'm in class (where there arent outlets) works fine, keeps my laptop going thoughout the day. only down side is the backup battery gets VERY hot if its in a confined space such as a bag, it' has vents on it and a fan that gets pretty loud if it gets too hot...so only turn on if it's in an open area and it also has USB ports to charge items such as my digital recorder and phone, but it cant charge the ipod for some reason....i'm sure that's because of the way ipod makes their stupid cords

this thing is amazing,I use it when I go camping or travel, all I have to do is charge it and then when im away from home and my iPhone,iPod,laptop,or portable dvd player's battery is low i just plug them in, the usb ports are great because I just use the Apple cable that came with my iPhone and iPod to charge those. charging only takes a couple of hours and if it does die and i am in a car it has the dc adapter as well so it also works as a power inverter in the car

The unit comes with USB and a standard power outlet. I was able to charge my cell phone and power a portable DVD unit and Laptop without trouble. The size is pretty good for taking on a trip, not to bulky. It did not get hot like some other portable power units I have used in the past. Had some trouble charging my Ipod using this unit. Might have been the cable. Overall an excellent buy for the money.

I graded this product 5 for Value for Price simply because it looks and feels solid, very lightweight, very silent and is has all that functionality and features. The problem is that after fully charging it, I was able to plug in any USB device and it would charge without any problem via the USB only and that's it. AC would not work at all. Tried plugging in my cell phone power adapter to chage it to not avail. Furthermore, the fan is simply dead. GET IT, DEAD. D - E - D , DEAD. And I just bought it from Bestbuy 2 maybe 3 days ago. So now I have to go back to Best buy and get a replacement. I am really hoping that the next one they give me will work cause I am going on a trip in 3 days. If the new replacement works, then I will come back and redo this review. All I'm saying is, THAT'S MESS UP! That's why I graded it very LOW. Well see what happens next. Stay tuned...........
