Purchased this after months of research for a mesh system. I was stuck between this or the Orbi but had heard multiple complaints about the Orbi dropping connections at random. Decided to purchase two of these and wire them together for wired backhaul and could not be happier. I have Xfinity and pay for 250Mbps speed and get on average for 280Mbps over WiFi in all locations of my 1800sqft house even outside on both devices, wired connections are about the same, upload speeds average 15-20. Zero dropped connections and the DFS System works flawlessly. I wouldn’t purchase anything else and recommend this to anyone who has a multi story house or even a single story house and is sick of the usual name brands and the disappointments that come with them.
I would recommend this to a friend

Unbeatable Mesh WiFi System

After countless days and hours of online research and comparisons I finally decided to bite the bullet and purchase the Portal 2-Pack Mesh System. Couldn’t be happier! Replaced my ASUS RT-AC3200 with this since I was getting poor WiFi performance in a roughly 1400sq for home, average speeds of 45mpbs when I was paying for 250. After installing the Portal and spending about 15 minutes to setup both units, I could not be happier. I am seeing on average of 290mbps of download speed everywhere in my home. I decided to go wired for the Backhaul but even with wireless I only see about a 15% drop in speed. For the price it outbeats the Orbi and the Velop hands down both of which I have had experience using and setting up for clients.
