A Great Alternative to a Pro Controller

For 40 bucks you can't really beat the price for this controller. This is basic the pro controller with two functions missing and one function added. What's missing is HD Rumble and a rechargeable battery. In order to power the controller you need two AA batteries. The batteries should at least give you 10 hours of gameplay. The one function that was added was two programmable back buttons. These buttons can be useful when there are a lot button combinations you need to use for a game. For me this controller should be bought if you care about wireless functionality, if you care about gyroscope features for games like Splatoon 2, or if you care about the two back buttons. If you don't find it necessary to have all this functions you might was well buy a cheaper wired controller that offers more of a veriety when it comes to designs.

The controller looks and feels great. It’s fun to play games from afar and without the joycons. Games like Smash feel great with this controller.

I prefer a controller over the joy cons any day, so picked this up at a good deal via price match. Was more difficult than needed to be to pair to the switch wirelessly. Now that it is paired no issues and no complaints, besides being nitpicky that it doesn't have the rumble feature like the more expensive wireless controller, so for price can't complain. Now can enjoy laying in bed or out on the couch and playing my games with a controller not joy cons, and don't have to worry about any cord getting tangled or not being long enough.

Powera seems to make the best switch controllers. I have an issue with all controllers eventually drifting. I wind up taking them apart to blow them out and they work fine. If your under warranty or have protection use those options first. This needs batteries which are supplied so pros and cons would be up to you as which is your preference

Better then the orignal remotes that all end up having a drift issue. Bought this becasue I did not realize my kids had stopped using the system because of the original remotes. So far this one is better except it takes regular batteries. Not a deal breaker but it reminds of the remote controls cars where once they batteries run out so does the usefulness of the the toy. We will see if it develops a drift issue like the Wii-motes.

I am usually always hesitant to buy game controllers from any company that isn't the original. I purchased many cheap Xbox controllers in the past and always had them break so fast, so for me, this was kind of a shot in the dark. So far, the build quality seems to be good. I'm not a big fan of having to buy AA batteries for it, but it could be worse. Overall it works well on every game I've tried so that's good. I would say though, if you can, just spend the extra couple bucks and get the Nintendo made one.
