Gamecube controllers - best way to play Smash

Must buy if you play Smash Brothers. Especially if you're a millennial like me that played Melee on the Gamecube non-stop all his teenage years... Would've given it a 5, except I did have one that had one of the joystick mess up, and I forgot to exchange it on time (that part was my fault). Otherwise, I have two more that work perfectly fine. Just make sure you test them well before the exchange period ends. It also does come with a 2 year exchange through the manufacturer, so you can use that as well. One thing I really like is how long the USB cable is. Yes these are corded, but I'm fine with that. You can also extend the cable if you use a usb extension, or even a usb docking station (like the ones you'd use on a computer). Also, it includes Switch buttons - home and screen shot buttons. Overall, good bang for your buck.

I bought this controller so I could play on my original gamecube. Well, I didn't realize it's a usb connection. But after I got over that heartbreak, I love it!

I bought 2 of these controllers and after just a few months they both developed massive drifting issues! The buttons get stuck doing random inputs and there's no way to fix it. I did some research online and apparently this is a COMMON issue for these controllers. Best Buy refuses to let me exchange these controllers and Nintendo won't do anything to fix them. Stay away!

Bought in stores about 4 days ago, i came to open it today and the back of the controller was scratched a little and the charger was scratched up as well. If I’m buying a new item, I expect not to be getting a returned items.

So I tried all third party GameCube controllers for this generation and while they are all acceptable, none of them feel as good as the official Nintendo SSBU GameCube controller. Each third party has its ups and downs and with the Power A, you’re getting the benefits of a usb cable that saves you $20 for not needing an adapter. The controller has 2 shoulder buttons instead of 1...probably my favorite thing about it. But... in the end, I returned this controller because of the weight and feel of the controller. The Power A is noticeably lighter due to there being no rumble and the plastic feels somewhat cheap. Also, the grips are a slimmer on the sides. I have small hands and holding this, my pinkies didn’t quite sit as comfortably as they do on other controllers... if you think you have big hands, then expect them to curl more in your palm than on the controller. Lastly, it was nice that they included the original styled triggers, but it’s technically pointless when the shield in SSBU doesn’t register until you’ve fully pressed it and felt the “click”.... the official controller has this click, but doesn’t need to be fully pressed before the game registers the input. All in all, some of what I mentioned is just me being choosy and I think the controller is great for casual players of Smash, but if you want to be competitive... try the official controller

I've been using these remotes for almost a year now, and I can say that they're a great value UNDER $20 each. I have 5 nephews, so I need lots of remotes when we play the switch together. I keep these in a travel bag when not in use for portability, and so far have experienced no joystick drift. The yellow C joystick has discolored black from the nylon bag it's in, which may partially be my own fault however I'm surprised it happened so quickly (within a month of ownership). A huge plus for these things (probably due in part to the low power draw from no vibration) is that they work with every USB dock I've tried them with both official and unofficial! To make things even better, they worked with an off-brand USB 4-port extender plugged into an off-brand USB-C to USB converter. They really do work properly with the switch as long as they're plugged in somehow! Pros: Compatibility EXCELLENT with docks Very long cable included Buttons feel good and joysticks are firm gamecube-style indents for joystick mean you'll destroy at Mario Party Cons: NO Rumble/vibrations means Super Smash bros. is less enjoyable Micro-USB yellow stick discolors easily

I love the nostalgia feel that this gives me. I use it for almost every game that i play. The only downfall is that it doesnt have the rumble feature as well as the motion feature. Great choise though for games like smash, mario kart, and mario strikers
