Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the wireless connectivity, nostalgic feel, and compatibility of the GameCube Style Wireless Controller for Nintendo Switch. They appreciate that it resembles the original GameCube controller and works well for playing Super Smash Bros. However, some customers are disappointed by the lack of rumble and the fact that it runs on AA batteries.

The best way to play Smash

I ordered this controller alongside Super Smash Bros Ultimate because having a wireless GameCube controller was appealing and because I didn't have a Pro Controller. The controller functions flawlessly and I haven't had any input or connection issues. I like that it uses AA batteries rather than an internal battery and appreciate the classic color. I opted to give 4 stars because the controller feels a little lighter than I'd like and I would have preferred something that felt more solid and well-built.

Got this exclusively for smash bros ultimate - works beautifully. Better than the switch pro, better than the regular switch controller, better than those god awful joy cons. It’s lole playing old school GameCube but with modern technology. Can’t get enough of it. The best controller for smash - and also works with other games but the buttons are just mapped differently.

Best controller for Smash bros. Hands down. Don’t notice any lag with the wireless. Only complaint would be that the controller is very light and when the batteries are in it’s weighed unevenly towards the front. That, and no rumble support. Perhaps the rumble support would weight down the front and balance it out better.

I primarily bought this to play Super Smash Bros Ultimate. I have enjoyed using the controller and it really replicates the feel of the Gamecube controller. The only con to this is that it does not have a rechargeable battery pack, you have to use double AA batteries but outside of that I recommend this controller to anyone.

This controller was sooo worth buying, not only does it give you a nostalgic feeling but I absolutely loved the fact that it's wireless and works great when I'm playing on my Switch and don't want to use the controllers that originally come with it.

Love having this controller to use for Smash Bros and other Switch games! This has been fun to use with the Super Mario 3D all Stars that just came out. My only negatives are I wish it came with a charging cord so it wasn't reliant on battery replacements and that the rumble feature was enabled. Otherwise, good purchase for the cost!

Overall, this GameCube-style controller is a great value. The fact that it has all of the necessary inputs to function as a pro controller is a major plus; however, the only drawbacks are the lack of any sort of rumble, no NFC amiibo support, and it lacks a rechargeable battery as it uses 2 AA batteries. Other than those few grievances, this controller is a fantastic buy.

It feels great! I'm so glad this controller feels exactly like the original! Its everything like a GameCube controller except it has the Home, plus, minus and capture buttons! Though no rumble feature. It's practically a pro controller shaped like a GameCube controller.

Everything works great. I use this controller religiously and havent touched my pro controller since buying this. Everything you could want from a wireless gamecube controller. The only downside is there is no rumble feature but overall is forgotten about very quickly.

Great wireless controller, works great for Smash ultimate and any other game you wanna use it for. Switch picks it up as a pro controller and smash does so as well and that might be an issue if you plan to remap keys in smash. No disconnects, or other issues.

I love this controller, one of my favorites. It has the same feeling to the old ones I used to have when I was a child but now it has the features of the future with wireless features. So far I have had no problems with it.

Great controller to play super smash bros! But the only think I don’t like is I have to buy batteries for it! Why couldn’t it have been built in! Other then that I love it! Reminds me when I had a game cube!

I honestly haven’t used it yet, as I don’t often play Smash Brothers, but I’m hoping Nintendo will put some other games on the Switch that will work with it. Very pretty and feels great.

I love how this controller is exactly what you would expect from the old days of playing smash on the game cube. Feels great and works super quickly. I was surprised with the wireless that it works just as good as a wired. Highly recommended.

Great wireless gamecube controller clone. Runs on AA batteries. Has a good feel to it but a little but light in weight do to no rumble feature. If you want that game cube feel and dont have a wavebird already this is definitely the way to go.

I've been using this controller for about a month now, and ive been putting in work with it. This is a great controller. It certainly feels lighter (maybe even cheaper) than the old Gamecube one. But for this being in 2019, its a great option
