Love this controller! It brings back good childhood memories. I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because there’s no rumble feature. It would be really nice if it had rumble. Overall, it’s great!

Easy to connect and use. Only complaint is that the L/R triggers aren’t great. X and Y buttons feel a little tall too but not bad.

I was happy to find this new wireless GameCube controller for the Nintendo Switch at BestBuy. I bought this controller to play Super Smash Bros, and this brought back the classic controller from Smash on the game cube. This is a quality controller, and does run off of two batteries. I would recommend this controller primarily for Smash Bros, but you may find other games to use this controller with.

Since ultimate came out, I've worn out several thumbsticks on my original Gamecube controllers, one of them purchased brand new when Ultimate released. I did purchase the geek squad warranty for it, but never got to swap it out for a new one since they never got anymore in stock. I finally settled on trying out one of these Power A controllers; I wish I would've done it much sooner! Not only are they always in stock, but the fact that they have the extra shoulder button and the home and screenshot buttons make them so much more useful. I also love the fact that I don't have to carry around a gamecube usb adapter whenever I decide to take my switch on the road, which is quite often.
The only 3 drawbacks are these - the trigger buttons don't have the same feel; these feel more like digital buttons, but that may not be such a bad thing ( faster dodges and blocks). The sticks have the addition stick click that the original gamecube did not have and it takes some getting used to. Lastly, these do not have rumble which I've gotten quite used to, but then again the original wavebirds did not either.
Aside from those differences, the controller is a pretty solid alternative. The sticks have the similar "snick" you get from flicking and navigating around their octagonal gates. The left stick appears to be made of a harder rubber/plastic which may stand the test of time; it is not uncomfortable in any way. If you been holding off because you were like me and just had to use the original gamecube from nintendo at all costs, give these a try. I've put in about 100 hours of hard core smash play since I purchased and haven't noticed any problems at all. You'll also be pleasantly surprised at how long the batteries last! Much longer than your average xbox or ps4 controller. Overall, I am extremely pleased with my purchase.

Many third-party gamecube controllers have been released during the past decade. Unfortunately, the majority of these controllers fell short in terms of matching the quality of the original. However, that is not the case with this controller! PowerA has truly outdone itself in delivering the closest replica of the original gamecube controller. The wireless capability, additional buttons, and gyro controls further push this classic controller into the modern gaming era. Great product from PowerA!
