I'm new to Halo. The Xbox One is my first Xbox after 20 years of playing Playstation almost exclusively (I snuck a Sega Dreamcast and Nintendo N64 in there along the way#. I won't lie. I've always wanted to try Halo but I think it would have been better if I tried it back when it was at its peak and definitely before playing Destiny. Destiny absolutely reveals the differences in the feel of Halo between the Bungie and 343 versions. I'll go over each version in the MCC and what I liked and disliked about each.
Halo CE Anniversary: While I can certainly see how this could hold a certain nostalgic factor for long-time Halo devotees, and it is certainly fun in a retro-type way, the age and infancy of the modern FPS is painfully evident. Most of the maps are almost identical. The textures are so bland at times, I got lost because the rooms looked so generic, you could easily lose track of what direction you were traveling if you get turned around during a battle. The maps start to take on more individual personalities toward the end but the majority of the game will have you asking yourself "wasn't I just in a room like this?" As for vehicles, the warthog handles like a shopping cart with a busted wheel and a turret attached. Unfortunately, the warthog plays a vital role in the game and there are times where you absolutely must drive it to perfection under trying circumstances. So, it pays to try to get somewhat goo dat driving it. I won't necessarily call these flaws because they're more indicative of the game's age than shortcomings. Despite being long in the tooth, I nonetheless found the game to be engaging and fun.
Halo 2: Halo 2 was more of the same as Halo 1, just with a few extras thrown in. For one, you can play as the covenant during certain sections of the game. It felt a little disjointed and definitely interupts the flow but I see what they were trying to do. I found it to be an interesting change of pace. A couple new weapons are introduced as well as new enemies. Although the graphics improved somewhat, there are still too many maps that look way too much alike. You'll continually pass through doors and enter a room that looks just like the one you just left. Overall, Halo 2 was also enjoyable and fun to play. I'd rate it slightly lower than Halo CE. My reason for doing so is the ending. Play it to the end and you will undoubtedly see exactly what I mean.
Halo 3: This was far and away my favorite of the bunch. Being the first in the series on the 360, it has beautiful graphics, a nice tight story, excellent vehicle mechanics and lush diverse environments. None of the things that bugged me about the first two are present. Maps are unique and believe it or not, despite being a much more visually appealing and advanced game, the frame rate and overall performance of the game even seems better than the first two. I would notice pretty obvious frame rate dips on several occassions in Halo CE and Halo 2 but not in Halo 3. The one and only complaint I have with Halo 3 is that one of the later levels is a little too melodramatic and pretty difficult to boot. Nevertheless, I can easily see myself replaying Halo 3 in the near future whereas I don't feel compelled to play any of the others again, at least not now.
Halo 4: The final campaign in the MCC is Halo 4. This is the most viusually appealing and complex of the four. It is also the only version in this collection that was not originally developed by Bungie and it shows. I may be in the minority but I'm not crazy about some of the changes the subsequent developer, 343, introduced. My biggest complaint is the neutering of the weapons. In the first three Halo's, the weapons were neither absurdly overpowered nor underpowered. They were just right. There was a certain feel to the battles that made you feel confident, even on the hardest levels. In Halo 4, grenades are all but useless and enemies eat bullets like Skittles. Even grunts who were fun picking off with well-placed rounds in the first three campaigns, take a ridiculous amount of rounds to drop. And this is with both human and alien weaponry. As if reducing your weapons to the power of a pea shooter weren't bad enough, the toughest enemies now have these little guardians that provide shields and respawns. So after you've wasted all of your ammo putting a huge knight down, get ready to fight him again if you failed to first eliminate the annoying mechanical misquito buzzing above his head. And thye game can be cheap to no end. AI enemies will roll out of the way or take cover before you aim or throw a grenade. They also must have built-in bullet counters because they magically know whenever you will run out of rounds and will materialize next to you just as you fire your last round. Lastly, 343 saw fit to weaken the Master Chief's weapons while making enemy weapons ten times stronger. They have multiple weapons capable of obliterating #And I do mean that literally# the Master Chief with one shot. However, you never seem to have this same awesom epower if you pick up the weapon. Their grenades are ten times stronger. Comparing the MC grenades to the enemy's is like comparing the power of a sparkler to that of an M80. My last complaint with Halo 4 is Cortana. Her voice is more present in this version than all three prior versions combined. It got so annoying she actually beat out Peter Dinklage as most annoying video game voice of al ltime for me. It's enough to make me vow never to buy a Windows phone mainly because I couldn't bear hearing that voice every day.
So that's it. Halo CE and Halo 2 were fun but disappointing at times, especially 2. Halo 3 was far and away the most enjoyable and my runaway fave from the pack. Halo 4. is the most visually stunning, most advanced and hhas the most content but it's lacking the fun factor of the prior three and Cortana starts to grate on you after a while.
I didn't get into the multiplayer because it's been busted since.. well... forever. This isn't unique to Xbox because Little Big Planet 3 us in the exact same boat on the PS4, which I also own. If, like me, you're new to Xbox and want to see what all the fuss is about, I think Haalo MCC is definitely worth buying. Old or not, four campaigns on one disk, two of which are fairly modern, is pretty darn impressive. Just keep your expectations realistic and remember, none of these games were created after 2012.

A huge amount of content and fun for the price. Most buyers have likely played through the entire campaign of all the games included, but it is fun to relive and play them again. Playing the early games again is a bit off-putting at first because of the odd and floaty controls but once you get them down again it's amazing to relive the game from the beginning, and having them remastered. With everything included from all 4 of the games (including online capabilities added to Halo 1 and 2, as well as all the Spartan Ops missions from Halo 4) this game is easily a no-brainer investment for Halo fans or anyone that doesn't still own and original Xbox with the entire series of games. The only reason I'm not giving this game a higher rating is because there are a few bugs (included from the first 2 games) that were included in the remaster that are yet to be fixed at the time of this review. There was also an issue with matchmaking early in the launch (causing players to sit in the lobby for upwards to 30 minutes waiting for a game) but it seems to have been corrected.

Definitely not a fan of this game on the "One." It seemed to work just fine on the 360 (CE, 2, 3 & 4 etc.) but this one hangs and crashes frequently.
Don't buy an xBox One console strictly for this game as you will be disappointed.

How do you describe one of the best gaming experiences of all time ? Epic ? Glorious ? Fantastic ? the list could go on and on and each one of those words and many more of praise would fit the Halo Master Chief Edition.
Everything is here in this little box , Every one of the Master Chiefs adventures can be enjoyed on a single disk , in High Definition at 1080p and 60 fps. ALL of the games 1 - 4 are absolutely stunning . Halo 4 even looks as though it were made for this console , it was beautiful on the 360 but the power of the Xbox One has turned this game into a true master piece.
If you play Halo 1 - 2 and feel that the graphics are kind of dated , just hit your select button on the controller and revert back to the original garphics , that should put everything into perspective for you and let you witness just the amount of work that went into recreating the games , but at the same time leaving them more or less intact as they were upon original release. I remember the first time I played Halo 1 -2 and remember just being amazed at the beauty of the games and the awesome gameplay itself. Now all these years later I'm playing these beloved games again , but not realizing what a graphical leap games have made since then , upon reverting back to the original release graphics is a shock and lets us know just how far we have come in gaming , in really a short amount of time.
Halo 3 - 4 still feel like the modern games of today and still are far better than many games releasing now and in the future. Halo 3 still looks like Halo 3 except with more polish and detail that couldn't be achieved on the 360 , it's still such an amazing game that I have made many , many trips through with the Chief. Halo 4 is the real stand out , I thought it was a beautiful game on the 360 but on the Xbox One it just far surpasses the 360 version. Everything and every detail is amped up , colors , explosions , weapons fire , sounds , I mean absolutely everything. All of these games have been remade or touched up in some way and really my description of the detail in Halo 4 applies to all the games , it's just more dramatic in Halo 4 because it is the newer game.
If you have never played Halo before the time is never better , With this collection you can experience The Halo saga in the best condition it has ever been. All four games , 100 multiplayer maps , all the downloadable content , Halo NightFall and the Halo 5 Beta , all on one console and one disk .. That is a HUGE amount of content for only 59.99.. There has never been a value like this before , it is worth every cent. I highly recommend this wonderful experience to anyone .. If you like a great story , it's here , if you just like First person shooters , it's got you covered , if you like beautiful games and exotic locations , it's got you covered on this front as well. This is a truly amazing game for everyone..

EDIT : November 13 2014 , 4:40 am. - Halo CE in the Master Chief Collection complete , now its time to work on part 2 :) It a great time to be a Halo Fan , this collection is utterly fantastic !!!
Edit : November 18 2014 , 4:50 am. - Halo 2 is now complete and I am reminded why this is praised as the best in the series.. The new graphics & cut sceens make this game look completely new and fresh. It's been so long since I've played this game that I had forgotten alot of the game. In reality it was like playing a game I have never played before.. AWESOME !!!
Edit : November 24 2014 , 3:35 am - I just completed Halo 3 and it was just as much fun as my first countless playthroughs , even though it didn't get the anniversary treatment it still looks fabulous on the Xbox one at 1080p and 60fps. Everything is just buttery smooth.. I have also began my playthrough of Halo 4 and OMG , it looks like it was made for the Xbox One , it looks utterly FANTASTIC , I'm not over exagerating when I tell you it looks like a brand new next gen game..

Halo, is and will be my all time favorite video game. I remember when it first came out on the very first Xbox. My favorite game was Halo 2, the MP lasted years for me. I remember staying up till 4am on week days playing MP, just trying to Rank up to level 50 :) Also, I'm really glad they are bringing back the Halo 2 ranking system. November 11th, cannot come any sooner!!!

Ordered this product online over Black Friday, and received it several days later. The case was bare, with no cover art, and after several tries at installing the game on my brand new Xbox One, I had to give up. The disc itself did not seem to have an excessive amount of scratching on the surface of the disc, but apparently it was enough.
The game tried to both install the game to the hard drive, and download an update from the internet. Disabling the internet connection to allow the disc to install by itself did not remedy the problems. I opted to go to my local Best Buy and return the game for a brand new copy. After obtaining the new disc, I had no further problems with the install.
