I loved the look of this range. While other ranges had a lot a bells and whistles this range didn't and I liked that. It has one job to do and that's COOK! My only hesitation about buying the range was that I wanted to look at in person, however, none of the BestBuys in my area carryed it. I'm glad I bought it. Delivery and Install was awesome too.

A great 36" range at a great price

We love this range. We were looking for something with 6 burners for the many and large pots that come with gardening/canning season. The next price point for a 36" range seems to be in the $4k-$5k!! So for less than half the price, we got the feature we really wanted. In the off season, the griddle stays on the middle burners. I had been a big fan of a cast iron griddle, and wasn't keen on the aluminum that came with this. But now I am sold. The problem with aluminum griddles I have experienced before is that they are too thin. This one is a beefy cast aluminum so heat is even despite the material and it makes pancakes, french toast, grilled cheese as well as the cast iron (which is now rusting in the garage!). I thought the skinny side door was a little tacky, but it wasn't worth the $2k-$3k to get something without it, and it is useful for pans and cooling racks.
This thing is basic. There are no electronics beyond the electric ignitors. That may turn some people off, but for me, it just makes it more likely to be reliable. I don't have to replace any PC boards if a clock or membrane push button or temp sensor fails. That suits me fine. It looks great with our assortment of other SS appliances (we got different brands based on price/features rather than a whole kitchen in one brand). It has the normal problems of SS, it shows splatters, finger prints, etc. The black cooktop is enamel, not paint as some have said in reviews of these Premiers, and has stood up well to a year of use, but being black, it might drive you crazy trying to keep it spotless. Honestly, all that cast iron of the grates breaks up the view of the shiny black cooktop anyhow and I don't worry about it.
I would highly recommend this range to anyone who is looking to use it in conventional ways and doesn't need the features or prestige of the bigger names.
