This Prima Official Game Guide to Splatoon is an essential part of learning the game inside and out. I subtracted one star from my rating due to the fact that this guide is too darn small! Just about every other Prima Official Game Guide is 8-inches by 11-inches but Splatoon's is only 5-3/8 inches by 8-1/2 inches. To its credit, it does include a free e-Guide code inside, allowing access on any device with an Internet connection. Moving on... This guide is 239 pages jam packed with everything you need to know, and then some. Welcome to Inkopolis is how it begins; explaining the essentials of getting started and points of interest within Inkopolis Plaza. Amiibo Support is explained as well as how to create your Inkling, either a boy or a girl humanoid-squid hybrid. (Easier than it sounds!) The Controls are fully covered, and you'll want to learn them well. Miiverse is explained too; allowing you to post drawings and text! This will appear above your Inkling's head, visible to other players while in the Plaza. Essential info on each of the Zones 1-5, Ink Battles, Weapons & Gear, Arowana Mall, Blackbelly Skatepark, Saltspray Rig, Urchin Underpass, Walleye Warehouse, as well as a section dedicated to Concept Art! Hopefully Prima will release a larger size guide, but until then, this is one guide you'll definitely want to pick up! Happy Inking!

The Splatoon game guide provides a large amount of detail about all of the different parts of Splatoon: the single-player mode, the online multiplayer, the characters, the weapons, etc. The information it provides is very useful, especially the information regarding clothing and weapons for your character. The art section of the book, which contains concept art from the game's development, is really cool, and I enjoy looking at Splatoon as it was being created. While this is a great book, it does have some spelling errors scattered throughout the book, and i've even noticed that a whole paragraph talking about Spyke was repeated twice. For these reasons, i've decided to rate it 4 stars rather than 5. Overall, I would still highly recommend this book. It's price-point ($14.99 at MSRP) may be a bit too high, but it's still a really great guide that provides a large amount of information on the game.

This game is so awesome!! Gameplay is simple and the competition is fierce but so fun!!!!

I always buy the game guides when I buy the games. It is nice to have all of the information in front of you when you start out a new game. The Splatoon book is informative and I would recommend it to anyone who owns the game. Thank you.

Finally a shooter game that I can play with my kids. Using ink (which looks like paint) instead of blood and violence is genius. Really fun challenging levels as well.

Fun game play by yourself and with friends but taken to a whole new level when Nintendo has live competitive Splatfests. Highly recommend!

This a great third party shooter that is not about killing your opponent, but about claiming your turf by spray painting the most area in an arena. Pure fun for all. Most have!
