I wasn’t really excited about this game when I started playing, but after half an hour, I couldn’t put the controller down. This is honestly one of the better games on my Switch and I can’t wait for a sequel. Since it looks so clean on the Switch, it must be amazing on all other platforms..has an amazing story, fun boss fights, puzzles and so much more

Easily one of the best games of this generation that sadly got overlooked by many. Super fun, polished and skilled based Metroidvania that should be in everyone's game library. Hands down the best game in the series in my opinion. Switch version runs at 60 fps and graphically is on par with other versions of the game.

Really good game! The graphics look amazing on the Switch OLED, and the gameplay is smooth and fun. It has that classic Prince of Persia feel with cool moves and time powers. Some parts are a little tough, but overall it’s a great action game worth picking up!

This game is gorgeous. It reminds me of the games from my childhood, side scrolling beat em up and slashers but with all of the beauty and precision of modern day gaming. It feels like a true love letter to the franchise’s origins.

A great Metroidvania with terrific animations and superb gameplay. Fewer bugs and a lower price would have taken it to elite territory. Still, a good effort by Ubisoft.

This is an amazing metroidvania that marries tight platforming, stylish combat, and interesting puzzles that will test your skills but is satisfying to figure it out.

Finally, the return of the prince. Its great to see the POP back in a Metroidvania with the The Lost Crown. Great action, platforming, and boss battles make this a must play.

Prince of Persia is a fanatic series from a well known company Ubisoft. A new series in a franchise that hasn’t seen the light of day since the 7th generation. I have enjoy this game and all its new features and I hope to see what the studio can do in the future.

As far as 2D Metroidvanias go, this one is a close second to Hollow Knight. It has fluid combat, a massive but well designed map, an interesting (but mostly predictable) story and brutal but satisfying boss battles.
The ability to snapshot your current location and custom difficulty options that let you skew the game further towards difficult combat or difficult platforming are both features that future Metroidvanias should definitely take from this.
The only real complaint I had while playing was how insanely difficult the Divine Trials all were, but they were added for free months after the game releases and don't count toward completion.

Overall have been enjoying this game despite it's flaws.
Pros:
- Playtime wise, it's longer than I expected it to be.
- Smooth flow when it comes to combat.
- Some clever puzzle designs.
- Boss fights are pretty epic.
- Music is good to great, especially with headphones on. Some of the tunes live rent free in my head after I shut the game down.
- Assuming you have internet, you can upload your save to Ubisoft's cloud save itself (as well as Nintendo's online service via paid NSO service) and easily access in the main menu vs going through the Switch's menu and searching for your cloud save.
Cons:
- The game occasionally lags a little. My character never took damage or died nor did I miss a jump because of the lag, but it pops ever so often.
- Transition between rooms sometimes takes a second or two to load.
- One on one combat is fine but can feel a little unfair when there's 3 to 4 enemies coming at you at once.
- Some traversal puzzles are unfair as there are moments where your character will die because you couldn't see if your jump, your dash, etc will result in you falling onto instant death spikes. (Barring being very low on health to the point where your next death will result in a game over, you'll respawn relatively close to where you died.) Although you can move the camera up/down/left/right/diagonally via right stick, it doesn't go far enough to see if your character will land safely or not. Your field of vision feels limited too during these scenarios.
Despite it's cons, I still recommend this game. It's a solid 85/100.

I played the original *Prince of Persia* by Jordan Mechner on MS-DOS, and I’ve loved the series ever since. *The Lost Crown* on Switch is a fantastic return to the side-scrolling roots, with smooth combat, clever platforming, and time powers that actually feel useful. It runs well on the Switch with solid performance and vibrant visuals. A few of the platforming sections can be tricky, and the dialogue is hit or miss, but overall it’s a great mix of nostalgia and modern design. Highly recommended for fans of Metroidvania-style games or classic *Prince of Persia*.
