solid toaster, and I appreciate an nsf rating - but maybe it's ambient temperature, or the bread I'm using, but I don't get the consistent coloring out of a bag of bread (granted, it all falls well into the "toast" category - the level of charring is just not what I'd expect of an NSF rated device).

My old crappy toaster didnt compare. what used to be half cold half hot waffles are now hot crunchy waffles. It toasts bagels perfectly. We had these toasters at work and I knew this is what I wanted

Ordered on line, it arrived sooner than expected. It is supposed to be a commercial toaster, material and weight are what you would expect from a chinese import, Not high quality. That's not all that important if it worked well. Does not toast evenly because the heating elements do not all glow with the same intensity, some not at all. An inexpensive toaster could do a bad job just as well. Ill return it and update if the replacement is any different.
