    I bought this as a Birthday gift for my sister after watching the series on PBS. I was fascinated to see the connections between prohibition and modern political situations. I never thought of Carrie Nation as a cause of the Mafia in America before *g* Ken Burns' work is always well-researched & illuminating. This series is great history and interesting watching. It's surprising to trace what bad results grew from the good intentions of the WCTU & their allies.

    it was a great impulse buy ..have been trying to catch this on pbs never the right time to see it all...cover the prohibition era only as ken burns can.. very good series I recommend this piece of history with viewing the pics it is not dry
