    Very realistic racing

I've played the Forza series for many years, so going from the physics of Forza to this is night and day. That's a good thing and a bad thing. It's bad in that the learning curve is very steep in learning how to drive just about any vehicle in PC2. Because of the physics engine, driving in rain and snow is going to be a white-knuckle affair. While in forza, the main objective is to be first. In PC2, you'll be lucky to get 12th place. But this a game that requires a decent amount of time to invest in in order to be anywhere near being competitive. The good thing is that once you get a handle on how the cars will react in corners, going Straight, passing and breaking, the rewards of getting 4th or 5th place are very satisfying. But, because the developers have decided to make this as realistic as possible, it's going to put several people off from buying this game. And that makes the player base a lot smaller, which makes it hard to find an online race, or for the devs to invest in fixing certain aspects of the final build. Although a few patches have already been issued, I have to wonder for how much longer will they keep supporting this game. I can start Forza and get into a multiplayer game in no time. Although the players in forza are another story, when you get into an online race in PC2, the difference is huge : no racing to the 1st corner only to get punted into the stands, no hitting you on purpose, and no pile-ups while going full throttle sound a hairpin turn. So, while the game is rewarding WHEN you learn how to drive, it's getting to be good enough TO DRIVE that will keep the player base only to those who are willing to put in the time to learn it. It's a vicious cycle.

After spending quite a few hours playing PC2, I can honestly give it a good recommendation. The AI has been challenging. The graphics are really good and driving the cars gives a very good sense of speed and realism. I used a Fanatec wheel and pedals which are fully calibrated within the game. All the great cars are included and available from the beginning. It's been a blast; climbing into my Ferrari and blasting down the back straights of the LeMans track. Sound is great; my Ferrari wailing at around 200 mph. Just get it. Highly recommend it (enjoying it more than Forza 7).

First things first. I did not like the first Project Cars. It was quite unusable without a steering wheel/pedal setup. The only cars that were manageable were Le Mans style prototype racers with a controller. That's how bad it was. 50% throttle on a 250hp Ford Focus, into the fence you go. 5 hot laps in a 800-1000hp prototype racer....done without a scratch. Let's just say I'm glad I bought the first one used and managed to resell with only losing a couple bucks. Now the sequel. Steep learning curve, that is expected coming from Forza. And it's rewarding. Add a steering wheel and pedal setup, get ready for an adrenaline rush if you are new to this. Controller is still manageable, you won't feel left out this time around. I can't tell you how many hours on the same track left me with nothing but an ear to ear grin or an OMG moment. I haven't even touched most of the other tracks. There are tons. Maybe less of the grand prix tracks, but that is okay. This game focuses on sports cars, and you will find some of the best sports car tracks in the world. I am glad my local favorite is in here. Other games do. I haven't even scratched the surface of what this game offers. I've been hot lapping the same track for hours and hours. There is still AI and MP races and events, weather effects and so on to explore. Love, love, love this game.

My first experience with this title had me sitting on the grid waiting for the lights to turn green. When they did, I hit the up shift lever and took off. In reverse. OK, wrong automatic wheel mapping. Check settings, nope looks correct. Try again. Smoked them in reverse again. Setting right paddle to "down" shift makes it "up" shift. So went the rest of this. Things just don't feel as good as some of the others. A shame too, because a lot of good things in here. Cars, tracks, licensing structure, etc. I try it again once in a while but whether I am looking for authentic racing or just fun I have better titles for either. I will recommend it because everyone is different, with different set ups and there really is a lot of good things here. If only.....

This game is way too much FUN ! It really focuses on Motorsport as an entity, by you signing for a team in any one of the TONS of divisions of Motorsport featured in the game. The driving is even BETTER than Forza and Gran Turismo. The graphics are great too, although not as good as Forza. It is bug free, and is 100% WORTH purchasing. BUY THIS GAME !

This sim racer paired great with our racing wheel. The handling seems more forgiving than Forza. Cars and tracks look great as well. Forza Horizon is the king of arcade racers but I prefer Project Cars for sim racing

This is a very realistic racer and that means that some will love the game and others will become frustrated. It offers plenty of tracks and cars and they all look very realistic. If you want to test your driving ability and drive some exotic cars in real tracks, you will enjoy this game.

Fun game - This game has it's stability issues but hopefully will get patched over time - Forza 7 has even more stability issues - Not sure how these developers can put out games that feel more pre-release BETA than the full final version. A bit frustrating actually. My opinion - WAIT to buy until they have it sorted out -

This is a great racing sim. However it is very much a sim, geared toward tuning and the art of racing. It can be a little much for the average racing game fan and might come off a bit tough. That being said it’s a solid game with a good car list and a decent career mode.
