The quad copter is great, my 11 year old daughter enjoys it, only problem is the long charge times, but I guess that would teach her patience.

I got the helicopter as a last minute gift for my nephew and it ended up being his favorite. My 17 year old wants one now.

Save your money and buy a better one. As other reviewers have noted, the battery life is short. Worst drawback is that I can't get the unit to be stable no matter how I adjust the trim. I would recommend to spend more money if necessary to get one that is stable.
On the positive side, the toy is a lot of fun. On the amazing side...I waited until a totally calm day to operate the unit outside. However, since the unit is unstable and the trim will not stabilize it, before long I got it stuck in a tree and couldn't retrieve it. Three weeks later, however, after enduring several rainstorms, the unit came back to earth. I recharged it and it is a good as new! It always crashes, but is never damaged.
Summary: You can make up your own mind whether this toy is worth it. I got it at a good price and it is a lot of fun, but since it is unstable and so difficult to control, and has a very short battery life, I wish that I had spent more for a better one.

Good, but poor instructions

Was about to return it to store because it wouldn't fly. Then I saw another reviewer say to turn on the controller *before* connecting the power cable on the copter (the instructions say just the opposite). That solved the problem, and it flew.
Not easy to steer in a small living room with a lot of furniture, but fun anyway. I haven't really mastered it yet, but I've terrorized both the dog and the cat (the big, powerful dog more than the cat). I look forward to mastering the controls, and I hope the critters will learn to disregard it as a flying roomba.
There's a cable that must be connected and disconnected each time you charge and fly. Its connector is tiny and cheap, and actually I needed to use a puller tool I happened to have in my tool kit to unplug the connector. I'm expecting that to be a point of failure, which is unfortunate, as it appears pretty well designed otherwise. Of course, accurate instructions would be nice, too.

This is a great trainer for flying quadcopters. Recommend highly for begin ers. Super light, so crashes result in very little damage. Super glue is your friend, especially for the prop guards.

Great buy for beginner, only if on sale

If you are looking for a first-time quad copter this would be a pretty decent buy. The 2 speed setting and hi-speed rotation let this small, light, quad even medium to strong winds. The controller has a small screen that displays your trim information and lets you trim mid-flight. It comes with blade-protectors, but even without them, the blades can take quite a hit as they seem to be the most durable plastic on the quad. Night flights are possible because of the green internal LEDs on the bottom.
The short battery life is expected and tolerable as you can get 12 minutes or so of straight flight time w/o the protectors attached. However, as the battery weakens, the quad will 'self-trim' which requires full-forward input in order to maintain a level hover. The downfall comes with the stabilization which often overcompensates even in a stable hover. The go-to of the stabilization seems to simply throttle down to the point that it will fall slowly out of the sky. For the $50.00 I got it on sale, this is acceptable, but the $80.00 normal price exceeds that of larger, better quality quads.
