The software was easy to learn. There are so many features that allow you to customize almost anything. Fun to use. My only complaint would be that you can't have a level under the ground (no basement). I just added three levels and know that the bottom floor is meant to be a basement. So it's easy to work around. I love the software. You can use it to design a home to build or to visualize remodels.

very poor drafting program. I would not recommend this program for any reason. Absolutely one of the most user unfriendly programs out there.

This program is not too complicated but it does have many facets that if one has plenty of time to explore, extreme detailed designs can be created! It does take up a bit of space on the drive but if the user does the recommended install, the program moves fast without lag. Great program!

Great program can't wait to start drawing my house plans out

I had used an older version before and liked its simplicity; this new version is much better. Also after I registered the version I purchased (Ver17) I became aware that a new version had been recently released (Ver 17.5). I called Punch Software and asked if I could get their latest release; I was pleasantly surprised with a free upgrade, this version is even better and easy to use.

Overall it is a great program once. Takes awhile to know what each function does and all you can fiddle with. I would like to be able to put a room label on a room even though it has an entire wall removed, instead of labeling two adjacent rooms with the same label. I would like to be able to have a basement level.

Not a good product. I bought this product previously and have been unable to move my info to a new computer. I thought a new copy would allow me to easily duplicate the work I have already completed. I was wrong. I will have to buyt a new product and start all over again.

Researched for several weeks before deciding. Great laptop. Size is great and so is the capabilities

Looking to use program to design a new patio layout. Some difficulty in depicting non-standard angles but help system should provide the answers.

The program difficult to use so I continue to use Chief Architect without problems.

This was a gift for my son who is planning on building his own home soon and he just loves it! The way he can change things without having to start over. He loves the fact that you can add furniture to the rooms and get an overview. The addition of appliances to the design is also a great plus!

Good program doesn't have everything i was looking for but still works good

Most of the software is ok. Creating rooms, doorways, windows; adding furniture and such were all fairly easy. As with most software there is a learning curve, although the software could be more user friendly. Note that I use Microstation, a drafting software, in my job every day. However, the software has several major shortcomings. 1. There is no provision for chamfered corner cabinets (45 degree face. 2. There is no provision for angled cabinets. 3. The tutorials and direction are not very thorough, leaving the user to search for direction from other users. 4. Customer support is not very good. If you are not doing anything out of the box the Punch software will probably be adequate. I would not recommend it however.

Not easy to learn, overpriced and if you need to reinstall the software after it's more than a few years old they disable the registration interface so you can't use it and are forced buy the latest version. This has happened to me twice now. I purchased ver. 17 quite a few years ago and had to reinstall it because of a hdd failure but the registration interface had been removed from their server so my copy shut off after the 7 day free trial and I was unable to use it. My only option was to purchase ver. 18 and a few months ago I upgraded my hard drive and the same issue has happened. I have the physical installation dvd with the registration key printed right on the disk but their user interface will no longer accept the registration key so this copy is also now useless. I reported this to the Better Business Bureau and of course the company did not respond. Contacting their tech support was a complete waste of time. They will not offer any support for older versions, just the most recent one. This company is just bad business

they will not let you try for 30 days free on a download as all other co.'s will ,because the do not support ,help, or train in any way as the say. they just sell items and buyer beware. Tried program and no help at all, said return it be fore 30 days to get money back in 8 weeks.

I don't know about upgrading to 17.5, however, this version seems to work quite well. A bit of playing with it and reading the help files helps. Online they offer some, but not much in the form of FAQs. Solved a problem I experienced with basements. I have had this version 17, for a couple of days now. I have been able to create several designs and even played a bit with some landscaping. The walk through feature is really nice. Took me a bit to realize that furniture, if you use it, can be turned by changing the degree's on the right side of the page. Like I said earlier, it is a Good Program, but one really needs to spend time, just, playing with it and trying the different features. It would be nice if they had some sort of training online, but it is not offered by Punch or Encore software. Yes, if you want to draw out a home, then play around with either landscape or possibly even additions etc... I would recommend this program to anyone who has such a interest. I have never used any drafting software previously, but find this software, relatively easy to use.
